”Well, good luck with this ‘quest’ of yours. The tavern might have things be a bit rough around the edges so to speak, but if you take a drinking buddy with you, you’ll have a lot less to worry about in there.” The man grin’s in a roguish way as his amber eyes almost seemed to twinkle. He wasn’t certain what exactly that man is implying. Seedy enough to be dangerous to travel alone in there, or something else? What? Getting killed? “The name is Dabi.” He says while handing him the scrap of information on where to find the Tavern, holding out his hand for a moment. Hesitatingly, he starts to shake it. “Thank you Dabi, my name is Claw.” He introduces himself as, getting a raised eyebrow in return as Dabi for a moment looks at his fingernails that where only recently filed short when they where getting too long. “Interesting name.” Dabi commented to him, did he not believe that was his true name?

Mehh, it didn’t really matter in the end. He pockets the slip of paper, hopefully it will lead him towards the tavern. “I could of course take you there myself tonight? I’ve been there a few times myself for a pick me up.” The man laughs in a carefree manner, but he shook his head at that, knowing he needs to go now. “Sorry I can’t, I want to finish this quest as soon as possible, or know if it is even possible to finish it without worrying about the implication of this.. ‘retrieval’ quest.” His eyes darken at the latter of his sentence before he focusses on the man who looks at him with interest before standing up from his seat and stepping away. “Alright then, maybe I do still see you tonight if your still there.” And with a grin the man leaves him to head for the back of the restaurant again where the door for ‘staff only’ is located. ‘That man.. What is he even trying to do?’ He couldn’t help but think as he stood up as well. Leaving the building and fishing out the scrap of paper from his pocket.

At least following the information on where to go from here is easy, the description explaining the turns to take, when to go straight, and which names of the street lanes he would encounter on his way towards it. Slowly he starts to see the neighborhoods going from middle class to something else. He couldn’t quite describe it as going to the bad parts of the neighborhood but well. It does come close to describing it when he sees more trash littering the streets, and stray animals compared to normal. Still, maybe an hour away from noon he finds the place he is looking for. The tavern Tipsy Curvy written in bold letters atop the door, and looking a bit.. Oppressive on the outside with how it is painted black, the windows are in comparison a bit cheerier in color with how it has stained glass in there in different colors of brightness. Its glass dull enough that he can’t see through it to see what is happening inside.

Entering the tavern an almost cheery bell sound accompanies the creaking of the door as he goes inside, and while the atmosphere currently isn’t loud in there for it seems only a quarter filled with customers, it doesn’t seem so relaxed either when the people look up to see who is stepping inside. Whether they seem to play a card game, or at the pool table playing a game, or eating a meal or drinking. It made him feel uncomfortable being here. ‘It can’t be that rare for strangers to come here can it?’ He couldn’t help but think as he comes closer to the bar and takes a seat, since it is only a hour away from noon, and he wasn’t certain yet what he could expect he decides after looking at the menu’s that are placed behind the bar in big letters to order a Sprite. While he could have gone for something of a more alcoholic nature -there are a lot of different options for it, he knows him and alcohol wouldn’t mix well right now.

It certainly didn’t last time. He remembers vaguely he puked in the wishing well somehow while trying to make a wish? Not one of his better moment for certain. “What can I get for yah?” A gruff voice interrupts his musing, and he sees the one working behind the bar, a mammalian that reminds him of a badger rubbing a glass clean with a dishtowel. Throwing it over his shoulder so that it hangs there when he is done with it, and putting the wine glass he was busy with down on the counter with the other glasses. “A sprite please?” He says as he fishes out the required money and puts it on top of the counter near the man. With a nod, the man is quick to take the money and counting it to see it is the correct amount. Putting it in a brown pouch belt on his white and black uniform. Something that looks like a waiter’s if not for the white being greyer in color.

Either having become too dull with too many washes, or having easily become dirtier by having a dishtowel thrown on the shoulder all the time. He doesn’t know. “Your sprite.” The man says a moment later as he retrieves a glass and serves the clear drink in it, the bubbles easily going up while two ice cubes float in it. “Thank you.” He says merely, and takes the drink. Sipping on it while looking around. The other people in the tavern seemed to have placed there attention back to what they where doing, but the few that where grouped alone did look up now and then, but he wasn’t certain if it was to look at what other people where doing or actually looking in his direction. Sighing he busies himself with nursing his drink and just listen to the conversations that start up again fill his ears, wondering if any of what he hears will serve some importance to him and the quest.

Halfway in his drink when the bar owner comes close again, he starts to speak up. “Could I order some fish and chips?” There were on the list there at least a few meals, but compared to the drinks you can easily count it on two hands. He just wasn’t certain if it could be ordered yet before it is noon, or if it was generally only done at night. Still, he did rather like to get a bigger meal in then the muffin he ate an hour or so ago. “Sure, but it may take a while to get done.” The badger mammalian says as he writes down the order on a note pad, ripping it off the pad, and collects the money when he pays. Going to a door at the back of the tavern, and a moment later coming up empty handed. He supposes the note is delivered.

“I was also wondering,” He says when the badger was near again, catching the gruff man’s attention. “do you happen to know a George Girron?” The badger eyes him curiously, seemingly to take him more in than the previous quick glance he had done so far. “Who’s asking?” The man says gruffly to him. He wonders if he said something wrong as the guy is clearly seizing him up. Should he go with his real name? Perhaps he shouldn’t, but.. He also isn’t really looking for any trouble either. “Claw.” He nods at the man as he fishes out the quest paper and puts it on the counter, keeping one finger on it as the badger eyes the paper both with curiosity and distrust. “The one who placed the quest didn’t give any names, but they wanted their special card deck back, and they thought this George Girron has it.” He pauses for a sec as the badger mammalian looks him gruffly in the eyes.

“I’m not looking for trouble, or to steal anything. If it turns out it’s the latter, I’ll rip this piece of paper in two.” For certain quests did require the official quest seal in order to show exactly for which quest you were busy with. It would be troublesome to get back to the quest central for a new mission, but it might just as well turn out that most of the crowd there is gone then. “Hhmp.. We’ll see.” The man says a moment later before straightening up a bit more to increase his height. He’s guessing he might be six feet and five inches that way instead of closer to his own height. “What did this person look like? A deck of cards says nothing.” The man shrugs. He tilts his head a little to the side, he can definitely agree on it, but perhaps there might just be something off with that deck just as much as the one he’d seen the other play with before.

“I couldn’t tell what their gender was or if they were humanish or actually human,” He begins as he drums his fingers on the counter while trying to recall what the person looked like. “they were certainly peculiar enough. Purple hair, blue eyes closer to that of the sea when storm approaches. A black cloak with silver dots much like stars in a way, except without the pointy parts.. Carefree speech.” He shrugs after that. It really wasn’t much to go off on, but hopefully it helps. The badger mammalian at least seems to relax a bit. “Ahh yes.. That one.” It was said in such a way as if that explained everything. He raised an eyebrow when the mammalian didn’t continue, so he took another sip from his drink while with the other hand he still kept his finger on the slip of paper. “Very well, I’ll get the boss. But I’ll warn you, we loath troublemakers.” He blinks at the hand that has one clawed finger waving close to his face. Okay.. Why do that? A moment later the badger mammalian left for a minute, heading to the back again, he thinks he might be hearing some stairs creak, but the noise of the tavern is getting loud enough that it is hard to tell if that was true or just his imagination. *25

So he merely ends up waiting for a little while as he finishes his drink and sits more casual as he pockets the slip of paper back in his jeans. “Right, so you’re the one Mariko decided to use as a replacement for getting ‘it’ back?” He hears suddenly as on his left side a bar stool scrapes on the ground before another man sits in it. Might this be George? “Mariko?” He asks instead as he turns his attention to the man besides him, and sees the badger mammalian return as well, this time with a plate of fish and chips, knife and fork in the other hand that he all places on the counter so that he can eat. It smells good, and with the steam coming from it. He can tell it is quite hot too. “Yes Mariko, the purple haired so called magician or something.” The man says in a grumbling tone as he makes a signal to the badger that is well known enough to have him place on the counter an ashtray while the other starts to lit up a cigarette. For some reason, the other tavern people hadn’t done this.

It felt odd to inhale the smoke of the other man near him, and know no one else is lighting up a cigarette. The man seems to be a humanish if the brown fur on the tips of his ears is anything to go by, matching the brown neatly cropped hair on his head while his eyes are a peculiar orange hue. “What do you mean with replacement exactly? I’m only here in the hopes of retrieving a deck of their cards that they said a George Girron now has in their possession.” He picked up his fork and speared the first fried potato and some fish, munching on it for a moment before swallowing. It tasted pretty good. “Hmph, I mean replacement for earning back that card deck that somehow allowed Mariko to always win. Took it out of the magician’s hand when it became clear that Mariko is cheating, had the chance to earn it back by playing with a normal deck against my guys. But lost every time.”

The man grinned at that, sharp teeth showing quite clearly. “Right.” He mutters, it certainly made sense why this Mariko wants the cards back then if it always gives him a winning streak, but that doesn’t solve the matter yet on how to get it back. “And how do I earn it back? I don’t know enough about card games to even try my hand at it.” He says in an honest tone, and the man looks thoughtful at that for a moment before the same sort of smirk, a sly one is forming on his face. “Work a day for me as a server, you get no payment for the hours you make, but by the end of it, you’ll earn that deck of cards back, and make sure to tell Mariko the so called magician” He spat the name out like a curse, but his face still showed a pleased smirk. “is banned from stepping foot in this tavern or any of my other establishments ever again.”

Well, considering that apparently Mariko could have earned them fair and square back on their own, it seems fair that he doesn’t want to have someone like that back in their tavern raking in money by constantly ripping people off. Munching further of his fish and chips till a quarter of the meal is gone, he clears his throat. “Alright, and for how long are we talking about in hours? Do I start right away, or are you thinking of a specific day?” He says as he watching the man seemingly becoming satisfied with the answer. “You can start after your meal, you’ll need to change in a uniform upstairs, and the bar closes around two o’clock at night. So, you better keep up sweetie if you want to earn it back!” And laughs in delight at the face he makes while hopping off the bar stool and heading off. “Tinker will help you get settled in on your duties!” He says a moment later as he heads to the back of the tavern, heading to the kitchen likely and out of side. “I’m Tinker.” The badger mammalian says, catching his attention as he starts explaining how everything works around here. The other tavern guests seemed to have watched the spectacle with some amusement, before busying themselves in what they were previously doing. He vaguely remembers Dabi saying he was going to be drinking here tonight, didn’t he? For some reason, he knows he will become rather busy for the whole day and night, getting exhausted not just with the duties of being a server, but also just trying to figure out what that guy’s deal is.
But hey! Afterwards, he at least will get back the required quest item to finish this mission.
