It was early morning when Morgan woke up from a nightmare, and rolled out of bed. They weren't fully awake until they were already typing in what the dream was. They half-stumbled to the sink and then put some water in their eyes. Then suddenly Morgan realized that they weren't alone, and all in one swoop JUMPED up and dodged out of their bathroom. From across the room, curled up on the bed, green eyes blinked with a note of confusion and a note of amusement. Morgan pulled to their feet, eyes filled with sleep still, and crossed their arms over their A-shirt. "Ryuusei!" Morgan hollars. They didn't have their glasses on, but it was very difficult to miss a large serpentine golden body around every position on the circle of the bed except the exact place where Morgan shoved out of bed each morning.
"What are you doing in my room?" Morgan said blearily, still too sleepy to think very well.

It was far earlier than the time that Morgan usually got up to do any kind of feeding. Each morning they tended to do the same thing; wake up, wake up Nico, go feed all the rest of the creatures in the estate as well as the sentient family, and then Morgan would take a shower, make their own breakfast and get to working on whatever they were going to do that day. Often that thing was work, but not always, sometimes it was training. Today was a slow day, they didn't really have much planned. That was what made it more shocking when Morgan woke up to find Ryuusei curled around their bed; he was absolutely huge for one. This was certainly abnormal, all of the tat-lung lived in their own (large) building on the property and usually they stayed out there. Morgan was even more confused when they noticed that Ryuusei looked... Worried.

Ryuusei hardly ever got worried. He was not 'happy go lucky' or anything like that, in fact he was usually on the positive side of serious in comparison to the other tat-lungs, but when he looked worried, Morgan knew to be concerned. In fact, the last time he looked like this Morgan had been alerted to the fact that apparently, Seimei liked to try to get into random fights with other critters they found around the labs city and Morgan was NOT HAPPY about that. They'd been keeping more of an eye on him, since. However, Ryuusei seemed to be feeling a bit off today, which probably meant something was up with Seimei. Morgan glanced around for a moment, noting that both Nico and Millicent were asleep. That was good. "Ryuusei, come down to the lab with me and we'll talk." Morgan conveyed in triplicate to him, and quickly pulled on their labcoat for comfort.

Ryuusei slides out of the bed and then stretches, silently. Of course he understood why they couldn't really have a discussion in here, let alone -this- discussion in here, since the others were sleeping. He glances over at the door and then follows Morgan out into the hallway. Morgan looked a little silly, in black silk pajama pants and an sleeveless shirt, with a lab coat wrapped around Morgan's shoulders without actually having arms in the sleeves. Being barefoot really didn't help, but Ryuusei kept himself from reacting to it. They padded along until Morgan typed in the code to get the Lab to open, and the two stepped in. The giant dragon mobile was up in the dome, and Ryuusei had not seen it before. He blinked. It appeared to be made out of paper and wood; how interesting! It almost looked like a tat-lung, but of course was not.

Morgan waved Ryuusei over, and he cast his gaze over. Ah, got distracted a bit by the strange kite-like mobile hanging above them that was so large. The pair of them were now sat, Morgan had a large couch in there for late nights working where they slept there sometimes, and it was easily large enough for Ryuusei to sit there first and Morgan to lean back on him. Morgan leaned down to the small cabinet for alcohol they kept beneath the small table, and then opened up a small cooler to mix theirself a soft drink and leave out the alcohol. They were pretty thirsty and wanted to have a drink for whatever was about to be told them. They figured that it must not be time sensitive, or Ryuusei would have started already out of necessity.
"Alrighty Ryuusei, what's up?" Morgan asked, in triplicate, using LSL with one hand to take a sip from their soft drink.

Ryuusei went from being a nice loose limp noodle to stiffening up his muscles just a little; enough for Morgan to realize that he was uncomfortable about whatever it was that he woke Morgan up for. That gave both of them pause, and then the glanced over to him, glasses still sitting on the shelf beside their bed, and their eyes met for a second. Ryuusei finally huffed, almost like a humanoid sigh, and then his eyes glazed over as he stared out across the sitting room. 'It's about Seimei...' He conveyed, looking nervous. Morgan let a few beats pass, took a sip of their soda, and realized that Ryuusei was stuck again and wasn't going to go on. "He's not... Fighting again i-is he?" Morgan asked. A beat passed. 'Not that I know of.' He said. Then Ryuusei shifted, and Morgan didn't have to move an inch to let him, he was that much bigger and stronger than them- but gentle. [6]

Morgan was playing a bit dumb. They'd figured out a bit ago that this was probably about Ryuusei's crush. Well, calling it a crush was probably a cutting it a little low, Morgan knew how much Seimei was practically enamored enough with Ryuusei that he was absolutely refusing to pay him any attention out of embarrassment, since he had managed to keep it form Ryuusei this long. Seimei on the other hand, of course had no idea that Ryuusei felt similarly. It was honestly infuriating to even think about any of this, because Morgan hardly understood it and it annoyed them that the two were so dumb about it. Even after Seimei had been told by Morgan a couple of nights ago that Ryuusei did have a crush or whatever on him, Seimei refused to actually do anything about it, and in fact it made the entire debacle worse. Morgan was super tired for it to end.

Ryuusei was fidgeting, but Morgan just took a sip of their soda and stretched. Was it really too early to drink yet? Yeah? Morgan tried not to feel a little sour about the entire situation. I need to be here for them, Morgan thought, even if I think it is a little bit of a nonissue. It is important to both of them, and Morgan needed to help them so that they could be less distracted in the future for better schooling. Morgan had tried to give them time to adjust to their bodies before going into any of the harder lessons that they had planned, but now they had realized that the pair were not going to ever learn at top capacity if they were stuck making murp-eyes at each other. Morgan tried not to appear impatient, quite glad that Ryuusei did not have the 'link' with Morgan quite yet anyway.

Ryuusei may not have had the link, but he did notice that Morgan's stereotypical stiffness in the shoulders had melted out into less worry. That made him wonder if Morgan would think that what he was about to say was 'stupid' or pointless or something. Morgan had never told him that anything he'd ever said was stupid, but he spent a lot of time watching humanoids in the city, from various hiding places. It was his hobby, and he honestly thought that humanoids were pretty ridiculous and dumb. Ryuusei tended to be a more 'salt of the earth' sort of Tat-lung, mostly because he understood his place. He was bigger and stronger, and more intelligent than humans. So they needed help, and he was in a position to help. However, he wasn't really sure how, and he'd seen so much meanness in the world that he cared more about Morgan by a longshot than other humanoids.

Morgan waited, and finally, after a moment of what could have passed for companionable silence between Morgan and Nico, or even Morgan and Seimei (though it was more of a mutual understanding between Morgan and Seimei of their most negative traits being shared) but Ryuusei was outgoing and he was hardly ever silent. Ryuusei finally shifted again, and Morgan put a hand on the nearest shoulder. "Ryuusei, stop fidgeting and spit it out." Morgan conveyed to him, sitting the drink down on the table to better sign to him as well as using the ring and speaking in common. Ryuusei finally looked right at Morgan and sighed, almost humanlike, breathing out quietly. After a moment, he decides finally to speak, perhaps having gathered as much gumption as he could. 'There is something I want to tell Seimei. But I uh, I don't think... I don't know if he'll run off after I tell him.' He started. [10]

Wait, Morgan thought, just wait and let him spit the rest of it out. There was no real need to hurry forward and and rush this out. Just let Ryuusei get warmed up, and when dawn goes to break, you can get on with your usual day like you always do. Morgan had already hit the quest board this month after all, and found out that it was some kind of dumb 'cultural appreciation day'. Kinda hard to have a culture really when you were born and raised in the labs, Morgan remembered thinking. Even now, Morgan couldn't really pinpoint any bit of culture that was actually theirs, save for perhaps their bit of an accent. That seemed to be common amongst those born and raised here. Ryuusei finally got a little less on his toes, and continued. 'I don't want to uh, make him leave with all you've done for us.' He said, quietly. 'And uh I don't need to uh- tell him I guess-'[11]

Alright, now he was backtracking, and blaming Morgan for it too. Morgan turned to where they were facing Ryuusei instead of leaning their back on his golden scales. Ryuusei looked a little shocked as Morgan crossed their arms carefully as they decided what to say and how to put it. They used both hands to sign this time when they finally uncrossed their arms. "Ryuusei, y-you and I both know that if he leaves, there's n-nothing you nor I can do to stop it, and there sure as heck en't anythin' we can do to cause it." Morgan was pretty sour that Ryuusei had tried that one, in order to get out of this. "I-if it helps though, I dun' think he'll leave. If you are gonna tell 'em what I think you a-are." Anyway, Morgan thought, but they didn't end it with the anyway, since that would convey a sense of anxiety that he wouldn't quite understand the way it was meant.

Ryuusei was quiet again, but this time he was stunned into silence, and not really due to nervousness that was caused by his inability to be sure about this. He blinked a couple of times, realized that his mouth was agape, and of course closed it up quietly when he noticed. Morgan picked up the soda glass, and took a drink of it, enjoying the flavor for a moment (and also secretly enjoying the look on Ryuusei's face as well, that was quite un-comely for a tat-lung, let alone a gold!) before sitting the cool glass down. The next one Morgan would pour for theirself, they figured they would drop a couple of whiskey stones in there for cooling. This one was just a little cool for them. After that, Morgan had decided on what to say next. "I think you like Seimei. And n-not like a brother, which is fine, y-you two aren't related of course even if you grew up together."[13]

Ryuusei is quite surprised, it would seem, but he was obviously incredibly anxious. He couldn't really downplay it anymore though, or lie about it. After a good moment of silence (in which Morgan begins to make theirself another soda) Ryuusei finally makes a sound that is almost squeak-like, coming from a tat-lung. Though it wasn't really squeaky to most ears. After that, he finally conveyed to Morgan. 'Well, uh, yes. I do... Rather like him.' At first, he seems more nervous than before, his body stiff. Morgan drops a cool whiskey stone in and then stares down quietly into the soft drink that was now finished. They were trying not to smile. Finally, Ryuusei relaxes, as if the weight of the world has dropped off of his golden shoulders. "There you go, Ryuusei." Morgan said in triplicate, before taking a sift of the soda. "Now that you've admitted it, what do you want to do about it?"

Now that made him tense up again, Morgan noted. Well, at the very least he was getting a lot of exercise from getting so anxious off and on again. All that tensing couldn't be comfortable. "Calm d-d-down, just because we've identified th-the issue doesn't mean that we've got to do anything 'bout it right now." Morgan said, in triplicate and stuttering a bit. Another sip. Morgan stared at the glass roof of the lab, staring through to the stars. The couch was pretty comfortable, so at least the pair had that going for them. This was not going to be a quick conversation, nor a normal start to Morgan's day, it would seem. Later, the human knew that they needed to start getting all of the feedings done and stuff, but for now, it was time to deal with Ryuusei's little issue. Not that it had to be done all at once...
