Morgan was much more confident today than they had been previously. Todd was such a perfect Houluh for Morgan's various needs (of course, Morgan preferred Nico but that seemed to be okay for most of their houluh) that the human had such an easy time working with him and getting him to the point to where he was ready for his Debutante Show. He was such an excellent hound! Morgan brought him in with the blue creature pockets he'd been trained with, and they walked up to the Registration desk to get him registered. "I'm Morgan Right of Wiltholm Estate Kennel, and I'm here with Todd for his Debutante show." They said, clearly, and then they looked down at Todd, who was being excellent. "Good boyo, Todd." Morgan mumbled to him as he sat and stayed as he was asked. Morgan filled out the paperwork quickly- they knew the ins and outs of those papers by now.
The houluh was taken back as soon as Morgan was lead to the back, and Todd was practically prancing. It was like he knew exactly what he was here for, at least in spirit. Morgan couldn't help but cast a haughty grin over him as they made their way back. He was a perfect hound, in Morgan's opinion- everything the other humans wanted to see. He was a little leggy, in Morgan's opinion, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue. They transferred from the carpet to the tile of the show floor and Todd's claws clicked against the tile. Morgan gave the judge a smirk, and then it was show time.
The Houluh was called by name, which he responded to, and then called to come, sit, and stay in rapid succession. He did all of this in record time, immediately coming to Morgan, sitting down on his rump unceremoniously, and staying still. Then Morgan tacked him up in his little creature pockets.
[Todd responds to name, and comes, sits, and stays on command before Tacking up.]
Morgan had already called earlier about the next couple of things they wanted to show off. The Houluh had been taught how to deal with enclosed spaces and loud noises before, and Morgan wanted to show off his ability to work (in his case, search for items) under severe environmental stressors like that. The human clapped their hands to signal, and immediately the area got a bit dimmer, and thunderous noises began to erupt. The houluh did not change under duress, and when Morgan gave the command for him to search, he immediately went and grabbed something he found interesting (a ball) and brought it to Morgan. "Good boyo, Todd!" Morgan said, before leading him up to where there was a narrow area. He squeezed on through, and that was that! Morgan brought the houluh up to the judge for checking- and that was when Morgan was told.
"Looks like this little one is a Matronne, don'tcha know?"
Oh. But Morgan had been very sure... "That... Makes a lot of sense." And that was that.
[Todd searches on command under duress of enclosed spaces and loud noises, which he tolerates. Done!]

Morgan wasn't the biggest fan of this particular houluh's temperament, since they preferred working houluh and Mink was certainly not the kind of houluh that would take to that sort of thing easily. However, Morgan was going to lean into it. They brought her in on a leash of pink studded leather (it wasn't something that would last more than this outing, but it did really accentuate Mink's prissiness) and hoped to high goodness that any kind of finicky activity she may or may not do would be considered normal for a creature of her atittude. Purposeful at best, so Morgan had their fingers crossed. They stepped up to get her registered, and watched her out of the corner of their eye as they scrawled in their left-handed script. After they were done, they were able to lead her past the desk without any issues up to this point. They still held their breath.
Mink was able to at least be lead to the back where the show ring was before she started acting up- the first thing she did was bark at the other people's houluh. Morgan was able to get her to hush very quickly (two barks, that was it) but the damage was done. Half of the group glared at Morgan, and the other half looked confused. Wiltholm Estate? With a houluh that was acting up? This was a first. Morgan couldn't help but hope this thing would be done as soon as possible with the least amount of further issues. Whenever it was their turn, the human managed to get Mink to come out to the middle aisle without any issues. Morgan let her off the leash once they were in a good position, and cleared their throat. "Mink!" Morgan called. At least the houluh remembered that she remembered her name! She looked up. At this, Morgan began using the whistle to give the command for dash, repeatedly. The creature took off running and displayed that she could rapid-fire sprint again and again. Whenever she was done, Morgan put her up on the pillar for inspection.
Definitely one of their weaker performances, but not as bad as Cozette that time.
[Mink responds to name, and dashes repeatedly, showing off her Endurance. Done?]
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for that piece of info Ren! <3 | But would it be allowed for the flavor of the rp if the berry wasn't filling enough for the Lotine?

Renathan: There is no need to double up on a fish and a magical berry (doesn't change the effect of the berry at all) in a lotine breeding.

Twilight-Claw: Does anyone know if it is possible to combine both a magical berry and a fish in a Lotine breeding? Or is you can only choose one of them? (right now writing a Lotine breeding)

Riku: I got three pet levels and 15c out of it. <3 And all the necessary posts for my job salary form.

Riku: In mine my crossbreed used foxfire to burn it - but then it used incendiary illusion, which was extra scary because my cross is a plant pet with thick fur. It used the distraction to escape. I’m proud of it, and it’s okay that I won’t finish this month.

Renathan: *But of course, the RNG was not having that. / In Morgan's story, the Nyssa was a real thing, so I wanted to have two different situations for the variety.
May 31, 2020 18:15:27 GMT -6
Renathan: Yeah, the 'finished the story but the RNGods are being a butt' thing is a rather unfortunate situation to be in. I had already decided that in Ren's story, the elderly woman had lied about the nyssa and just wanted someone to talk to*

Riku: That makes sense. I've considered that before. -nod- I hope your non-hxr life is going smoothly.

Haix: Just quitting the job. Don't believe I'll be making the ten posts required per month any time soon. XD
May 31, 2020 16:34:01 GMT -6
Riku: Note to haix, I believe you can post the new application form at the same time as the quitting form. Unless you are simply taking an overall break from the job system.

Fiera Ferella: even AT the gardens yet. XD It sucks when you've finished writing your story and haven't gotten a success, because then its like "well... now what?" XD
May 31, 2020 15:51:47 GMT -6
Fiera Ferella: ive found that when there's a quest that might take longer like this, its a good idea to try and space out the story beats to try and roll a success before i get to the meat of the story. XD Like, by the time i was 5 posts in my character wasn't
