It had been a while since Leafy had been to The Underground. At one point, she had found herself working up the ranks of gem crafting and as such, she’d ended up hoarding gems for a while. Although the Gemstone Workshop had been closed for a while, she held hope that it would one day reopen. Thus, she still held onto a great deal of her gems for its return. Even still, she had little use for an entire hoard of gems. There was only so much that one person could craft with! Since she was running a bit low on credits, it seemed like a good idea to sell all the duplicates that had accumulated within her collection. Then maybe she would be motivated to go find some more. She entered the shop and greeted Kor with a smile.
“Hello there, I have quite a few gems that I’m looking to get sold.”
Kor was working on something back behind the counter, it appeared to be a piece of amber that he was cleaning. He looks up at soon as he hears the customer comes in, and puts the amber in a pocket along with the polishing grit paper. "Ah, some gemstones I hope!" He says, giving a quick smile back. "Let's see what you've brought in, and I'll get them appraised." He said, reaching out so that the items could be deposited with him.
Leafy brought her bag of gems up to Kor. She undid the clasp holding the bag shut and opened it, revealing an assortment of gems hiding inside.
"I realized I'd built up quite a stash of stuff I didn't need. I think the bulk of it is going to be garnet and crabfire, but there's an assortment of other gems in there as well."
She'd actually received the garnet and crabfire in a trade, though she couldn't quite recall what she'd traded it for. It had been so long that she had forgotten. At least now she could clean her gem stash of some of the clutter and hopefully get a good chunk of change for her efforts. She handed the bag over. When her hands were free, she couldn't help but wiggle her fingers. She did so almost compulsively, not sure quite how to handle the sudden empty-handedness. Hopefully she could replace the gems with credits soon enough.
Kor takes all of the gemstones and listens carefully, and then nods. "Certainly, I'll be right back after appraising these, and let you know how much I can pay for these." He says, and then off he goes. He takes his jeweler's loop with him of course to be able to check, including a few other tools. It wasn't long before he returned (especially considering how many gems there were!) and he hands them back to the customer. "I can give you 1,289 credits altogether for these." There were some of these that were fairly high quality, actually, and that didn't even account for the large amount of items here.
The amount of credits was high and should do her well to tide her over for a while. Her expenses had grown just as her kennel had. She seemed to burn through credits the moment that she gathered them. Perhaps another trip to the mines was in order. If she did this regularly enough, her income should stay rather steady. Lately she'd been slacking on the mining front and she'd been lucky to have had this stash stored up for quite a while. Mining was both a combination of luck and strategy. She had enough tricks up her sleeve that she knew a bunch of good spots to look for more gems, but what she found there was all up to luck.
She waited for Kor to hand her the credits which also signaled the end of the transaction. "Hopefully I'll be seeing you again with more gems. But that does take a little luck!"
Kor was more than happy with buying this lot of gems, despite the high price. Gems were one of those markets that required quite a bit of currency to work with, but they held their worth better than just about any other medium that could be liquidized. "Thank you! Here you are." He said, counting out the currency quickly for the gems. "I appreciate it. Be sure to come back if you get more your are interested in selling." Once the transaction was done, he had some polishing and cleaning of stones to do.
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for that piece of info Ren! <3 | But would it be allowed for the flavor of the rp if the berry wasn't filling enough for the Lotine?

Renathan: There is no need to double up on a fish and a magical berry (doesn't change the effect of the berry at all) in a lotine breeding.

Twilight-Claw: Does anyone know if it is possible to combine both a magical berry and a fish in a Lotine breeding? Or is you can only choose one of them? (right now writing a Lotine breeding)

Twilight-Claw: I am still interested in trading it for a green drake.

Riku: I got three pet levels and 15c out of it. <3 And all the necessary posts for my job salary form.

Riku: In mine my crossbreed used foxfire to burn it - but then it used incendiary illusion, which was extra scary because my cross is a plant pet with thick fur. It used the distraction to escape. I’m proud of it, and it’s okay that I won’t finish this month.

Renathan: *But of course, the RNG was not having that. / In Morgan's story, the Nyssa was a real thing, so I wanted to have two different situations for the variety.
May 31, 2020 18:15:27 GMT -6
Renathan: Yeah, the 'finished the story but the RNGods are being a butt' thing is a rather unfortunate situation to be in. I had already decided that in Ren's story, the elderly woman had lied about the nyssa and just wanted someone to talk to*

Riku: That makes sense. I've considered that before. -nod- I hope your non-hxr life is going smoothly.

Haix: Just quitting the job. Don't believe I'll be making the ten posts required per month any time soon. XD
May 31, 2020 16:34:01 GMT -6
Riku: Note to haix, I believe you can post the new application form at the same time as the quitting form. Unless you are simply taking an overall break from the job system.

Fiera Ferella: even AT the gardens yet. XD It sucks when you've finished writing your story and haven't gotten a success, because then its like "well... now what?" XD
May 31, 2020 15:51:47 GMT -6
Fiera Ferella: ive found that when there's a quest that might take longer like this, its a good idea to try and space out the story beats to try and roll a success before i get to the meat of the story. XD Like, by the time i was 5 posts in my character wasn't
