Jack broke into a smile and then frowned a little, "I hope you don't leave again, it's kind of hard seeing your friends disappear for awhile. I have some other people to talk to, I suppose, but everyone is different, we're all individuals, having one of you leave is kind of like... forgetting something wonderful. It's good to hear you're planning on sticking around now." Her eyes lit up and she looked over at the Orbaru pair, they seemed to be getting along rather well. "How's the Zu doing, by the way? Have any new additions to it? And how's Takara doing?" Jack asked conversationally.
With a brief smile, Blanket leaned into the patting of her paw and he wondered what it would be like to pat her fur as well. She looked so soft, like the Silky's back home, but he didn't know if she would really feel the same. Cautiously, he reached out to pet her on the back a little, wondering what her fur felt like.

It made her sad to see Jack frown, even if it was only a small one. Though she knew that she had probably hurt the people she cared about by going away, it was still hard to hear it. Jack was being as nice as possible about it, but she wasn't sure whether or not that made it worse. She couldn't think of anything better to say that Jack already hadn't, so she just nodded in agreement. It was good that she was planning on sticking around now.
"The Zu is looking very lovely!" Nina lit up at the chance to talk about it, both metaphorically and literally. "I have built some new pathways for extra enclosures, and secured some more individuals as well. I am looking to expand as soon as I can gather the funds," she nodded. The funds were really the difficult part of owning and maintaining a zoo.
"Takara is lovely," Nina nodded. "She is very well adjusted and seems to like having a lot of friends! Though she is the only one who can fly, so that's fun..." the tone at the end of her sentence suggested 'fun' was really 'kind of annoying at times' but she left it up to interpretation.
Finally! Cadi had tricked Blanket into petting her. She leaned into him and entirely forgot to keep petting him in return. She was so pleased and comfortable that she flopped right over onto her tummy and let out a boop that sounded like a laugh.

"Oh that's great! I'm glad to hear it," Jack smiled happily and then glanced over at the attendant to see if they were going to be called back anytime soon. Heaving a bit of a sigh, she shook her head, she didn't know what she was going to get at this point, but that was fine, they still had plenty of time before the breeding was finished she knew. Oh well, it was fine. She was having fun talking with Nina anyway. "I'll have to come visit again, especially if Takara is getting into mischief. I'd been wondering about breeding her again, honestly..." the woman trailed off thoughtfully.
The male Orbarau booped a laugh as well and patted her on the back some more, wondering how her fur was so soft when she wasn't a Silky. It didn't make sense, but what was she going to do now that things seemed to be headed her way?

"I would love for you to visit," Nina said sincerely. Now that she knew Jack didn't hate her for leaving, she was eager to spend more time with her. Jack was probably the only friend she actually had, and she did get a little lonely from time to time. Creatures just weren't the same as actual company was concerned. She didn't even notice that the breeding attendants hadn't come back yet. Time was a bit lost on her at the moment.
"I'm sure Takara would love to come out and see you," Nina said with a nod. She hoped that was a hint that Jack wanted to meet her for another breeding some day. "I've picked up some new cuties that I thinks he would pair well with, too," she added.
Cadi was so content with being pet that she closed her eyes, just for a second. Before she knew it, she had fallen asleep! It was possible that Blanket wouldn't even notice until she rolled over and let out a tiny little snore.

The attendant finally motioned to the woman and the TROD, and Jack smiled, picked up Blanket who booped in surprise and alarm, and led the way to the room they were going to breed in. He fought her a little bit for a moment or two so he could try and get back to Cadi, but the woman was too strong. When she got to the room, she set the Sloth Orbaru down on the floor and then sat down again with a smile on her face, motioning to the chair next to her for Nina. "Oh that's great! I'd love to see who you'd like to breed with her, we could certainly set something up for another breeding in the future!" Jack said eagerly with a smile.
As he waited for Cadi to come to the room as well, he slumped against a ball and then booped in surprise when he rolled onto his side. That wasn't fair!

Oh, right! They were there to do something, weren't they? Nina scooped Cadi up and carried her like a sleepy baby toward the breeding room. She had almost forgotten that is what they were there for! Cadi woke up briefly from being picked up, but she settled right back into her nap against Nina's arm. This whole thing was far too mch work!
"Well she's got such lovely colors!" Nina said enthusiastically. She very carefully sat into the chair, hoping it didn't break under her weight. When it seemed to hold up okay, she relaxed a bit. It was a shame, really, that Orbaru genetics were so iffy and didn't seem to allow for the passing of wings onto offspring. They would be so beautiful as a whole little swarm of dragonflies! Actually, now that she thought of it, she was glad that there weren't so many Orbaru that could fly. They would be a real nuisance.
"I wonder what sort of babies these little ones will come up with," Nina said. She realized that she hadn't set Cadi down yet, so she did that. Cadi flopped over on the ground, but he nap was already ruined. She booped in annoyance and wandered off to find a toy.

"She really does, I think I lucked out when I found her for sale that day. Thanks so much for taking care of her for me," she told her friend with a smile and went to rest her hand on Nina's arm. She wasn't sure what to do right now, but she patted the arm for a moment and then pulled her hand back again. She knew it was rough that Takara wouldn't pass her wings, but oh well! Lots of flying Orbaru would be rough, not to mention what would someone think if a flying Aarg came down on them? Shivering a little, she shook her head as she watched Blanket waddle over to Cadi and reach out to tug on her ear with a happy boop.
Giving a shrug and a smile, she glanced over at her friend, "I'm not sure, but I'm sure they'll be adorable. Oh! I brought a baby fruit!" She dug through her bag and brought out the baby fruit and asked if it was alright to give it to the pair.

"Of course! What else are friends for? Especially ones that own huge facilities for exactly that purpose?" It was a joke, but she wasn't sure that she was telling it right. Ah well, she liked Jack enough to relax when they spoke, and to try to tell jokes. Even if she wasn't that good at it yet. Humor was one of those more subtle human emotions that she sometimes struggled with.
Nina noticed that Jack had reached out to touch her again, but she just let it happen. People didn't usually touch her like that, and she didn't want it to be weird. If she had skin, it would probably be blushing. She wasn't sure how to feel, so she focused her gaze back over to the Orbaru.
Cadi found a little ball that she wanted to play with, but when she bent down to pick it up, Blanket had caught up with her and tugged on her ear again. She turned over in surprise and booped loudly. Almost like she was about to yell 'don't scare me like that!' By that time, the ball had started to roll away, and she promptly forgot about it.
"Oh! That's great. I'm actually out of berries at the moment, I'm glad you remembered one." Then she made a soft clicking noise and wiggled her fingers around trying to convince the Orbaru to come over and get the berry.

Jack chuckled a little and nodded, "Oh I suppose, at least I'm not taking advantage of you. I have a ton of my own at the Kennel, after all!" She smiled and looked over at her friend for a moment before brightening up, "You can come over and look at them sometime! We can breed some of them, I even have a Silky that looks a little like a frog, if you can believe it." Dart was secretly one of her favorites, not like she would let them know that, she knew. Resting the fruit on the floor, the woman chuckled again and watched as Nina tried to bring the two Orbaru over to her so they could eat.
The male Orbaru looked a little contrite as he was scolded, and then his attention was peaked by the sounds from the robot. What was that? Food? He booped at the female and hopped over to it.

"I would love some day to see all of the creatures you keep in your kennel," Nina said. She hoped that didn't sound too forward, but she didn't think so. "I have a few creatures myself, but not too many. I do not want to become too busy caring for them." She had seen that before, so she didn't want to fall into it. Plus, she definitely had her hands full with the Zu and all. There were probably more Orbaru there than there were creatures in most people's Kennels. At least they were pretty easy to care for!
Cadi looked a little offended when Blanket hopped away. Hey! Where was he going? Oh! There was food. Cadi noticed that Nina had some food when she was watching Blanket to see what he was doing. She bounced over and booped excitedly. She wanted the food! She stretched out her little arms as far as they would go, but that didn't help much. She was much too short to just grab everything for herself. Nonetheless, Nina started dishing out some treats, including the baby berry as well.

"Definitely! Come over sometime and I'll give you a tour," Jack said, beaming at her friend. She liked showing off her animals, they weren't all super special, but they were to her, and that's what mattered. Grinning a little, she figured she knew why Nina didn't have too many animals, but she wasn't going to say it just because, she didn't want to hurt her friend's feelings again. Jack pushed her hair back and then looked at the two Orbaru, "How much longer, do you think?"
Blanket bounded over to the fruit and let Cadi have it first. He wanted a bite too though! It was only fair, now wasn't it? He booped again and shook his head a little, unsure of what was going to happen to them in the future. Sure it was nice to have a new friend, but what was going on? He pointed to his mouth for a bit and then to the fruit, asking for a bite.

"I can show you my creatures too, if you would like. My lovely Izer just got new tail feathers and he is beautiful." Nina wondered if Jack would like her pets or not really be impressed by them. It was hard to tell, but she thought that Jack would at the very least have nothing but nice things to say no matter how she felt. She didn't seem like the judgmental sort. It was probably why Nina liked her so much. She was always afraid of being judged.
"I think they're almost ready," Nina said with a nod. She looked down at the Orbaru and made a soft whirring sound. They were so cute! She shared the bit of food with Blanket, since he had asked so nicely and all. She made sure neither of them felt left out by giving them each some bits of fruit and trying to keep it even. She wasn't sure how she did, but Cadi seemed pretty happy. When she felt full, Cadi plopped over dramatically again and waited for someone to pay attention to her.

"Oh absolutely, I'd love to see them!" Jack said cheerfully, smiling big at her friend for the moment as they talked to each other. She was pleased with how her friend spoke to each other, and hoped that she felt the same way. Did a TROD have a gender? It didn't matter at the moment, she knew that things would be fine. "What kind of Izer do you have, anyway? A regular Labs on or a special one? Either way, I'd love to see," the woman said happily, enjoying the mood her friend was in.
Blanket seemed happy to get some of the fruit as well, and he jumped up and down before he got some of it, eating it happily as he danced from side to side. He glanced over at Cadi and wondered what kind of mood she was in too, as his tail orb began to softly glow.

It was so nice to have a conversation about something that wasn't directly related to what she was doing or why she had been gone for so long. Sometimes it seemed like the only time she talked was to order things from shops or to get information she needed off of someone. To talk about things like Izer tail feathers was quite a treat! "Tsubame is a Prism Izer, a rare breed that the labs produced a long time ago. I'm surprised that his plumage is still as bright as it is considering his age. He's got a kid hopping around to keep him busy, I suppose." Nina wondered what parenthood must be like, and whether or not it was anything like raising baby Orbaru. Probably not.
Cadi opened one eye to take a peek at what Blanket was doing. Still excited about the food, she figured. She wiped her mouth with her paw, trying to get some of the sticky food stuff off of it. Sadly it just moved from her mouth to her paw and now her paw was sticky. She sat up so that she could rub the sticky off her paw and onto Blanket, but it ended up looking like she was trying to pet him.

Jack smiled a little at her friend and sat there in comfortable silence, almost wishing she could lean on Nina to be even more comfortable, but she wasn't going to do that just yet. At least, that's what she told herself at the moment. "Kanellos is doing wonderful, by the way, he had his first litter not long ago," she told her friend with a smile, looking over at her. She was speaking of Houluh, of course, and she hoped that Nina would be pleased with the information, "In fact, one of his pups is in the Houluh Adoption Agency right now. If you're interested, that is."
He was happy and licked his paws clean before licking at Cadi's paws at the same time. It was interesting to see her so upset with her paws being so dirty, so he figured he would try and help. If she let him, of course.
