"See, it all worked out alright, didn't it?" Silver said, resting his hand on Grapes' head. The Salaves still felt uncertain but he did like the way Silver's paw felt on his scales. Something about being close to them made him feel better, if only a little bit. It was like he didn't have to face things alone whenever they were with him.
Grapes made a soft sound and looked around to see if he could see Louise. Where had she gone? He had started to worry about her now that he didn't know where she was. To his surprise, she was standing at the edge of a pool of water... looking at something? Oh no! It was a monster. Grapes nudged Silver as if to show them what was happening. Surely they could help, right?
"Wha..? Oh!" Silver noticed Louise and the creature she was looking at. It was rare to see a creature like that around here. They wanted to investigate. "Stay close to me," they instructed to Grapes. They hoped that such a big scary snake wouldn't bother the creature in the water. They wandered down over to where she was and squatted down. They made a motion for Grapes to do the same, and he did, laying flat against the sand to make himself look small.
"Hey there," they said to both Louise and the creature. They gently stuck their fingertips into the water and swirled it around a bit, hoping that if they remained calm, harmless looking, but interesting the creature might get a bit closer to see what they were all about.

The järvivaimo seems cautious of Grapes. It keeps glancing at the salaves, as if afraid it will strike... but finds you to be interesting enough not to flee. It draws closer in the water and fans its fins out. What are you doing here?

What interesting luck they were having. Silver wondered if the presence of two serpentine creatures had lured the other one to them. Was it a serpent? It was hard to tell with much of the creature hidden in the water, but it seemed to be an elegant mix of a fish and a snake with some kind of decorative... horns? Coral? It seemed like it could somehow be related to the Draconics or the Clan of the Thalassa, like Kodakai. With the weird magic around here, anything could be possible.
Grapes didn't like the way the creature was looking at him, so he slowly scooted backward in a very awkward way, completely lacking in the power and grace his species was usually known for. He did what he could to hide behind Silver, but being bright blue and purple was not to his advantage there. Meanwhile, Louise continued to be interested in the strange creature. She waved her wings back and forth the same way the creature moved its fins through the water. 'See? We're the same!' she was saying.
Silver continued to let their fingers dangle into the water. They would expect a fish to come over and give them a nibble, eventually, but this thing was probably smarter than a fish. If it stuck around, they would have to find a treat for it or something. As it was, they watched it quietly and studied what it looked like.

You make for an interesting bunch. The järvivaimo seems amused, to the extent that a creature of its ilk can be - it swims closer still, within reaching distance of your fingers. As if to imitate, it swirls its fins. You seem to be a friend.

Silver always felt peaceful and relaxed around water. Even just feeling it on their fingertips made them think soothing thoughts. They smiled softly at their shimmering reflection. Out of the corner of their eye, they continued to watch Louise. It surprised them to see how she was reacting to the surprise visitor. She was curious and encouraging, the same way they would be. Silver always knew that they were kindred spirits, but they were more than happy to confirm it. She was a gentle soul that just needed some time to explore and learn before coming in to her own.
Though they didn't know it, Grapes also had an affinity for water. One of his parents had beautiful fins and was entirely aquatic, but he inherited a mix of water magic along with the shadow powers from his other parent. It was like he was a lucky perfect mix of the two, the hints of his heritage only evident in his bright purple stripes and the way he longingly looked at the water despite being told to stay back.
"What do you think?" Silver said softly to the beast in the water. Their voice was low and comforting. "Would you like to travel with us?" They had sneakily plucked a dried fish from their backpack and hoped that they guessed right about what it ate. They held it out at arm's length and winked at Louise. "There's a treat in it for ya," they said.

The järvivaimo does not wait a polite amount of time before snatching up that fish. You've been nice so far, and your other companions seem... interesting. It doesn't see why it wouldn't follow you for a bit longer...
[Congratulations, you've successfully tamed the creature!]

Two curious creatures were manageable, but three was just too many. They would have to take the new creature home and get him settled in. Silver frowned briefly. Things were just starting to get exciting! As much as they wanted to continue exploring, they knew that it was best if they turned back for now. They would have to make it up to Grapes and Louise later on. Maybe they could even come back later on if things worked out that way.
Grapes was very curious about the new creature, but also slightly afraid of it. He curled back even further when it snapped up the fish and gulped it down. It was so weird looking. How could it be so much like him, yet not? He started watching Louise in order to see how she reacted. She tapped the water lightly with her paws and hoped that the creature would come closer to her. She didn't have any fish, though, so she didn't blame it for wanting to see Silver first.
Seeing that she wanted to get closer to the creature without scaring it off, Silver pulled out another treat for it and tossed it toward Louise. When she looked at them and tilted her head, they simply nodded as if to confirm she was correct. "It's okay," they said softly. "Do you want to lead our new friend home for us?"

It was haunting and beautiful. The harsh, cold snow of The Broken Time had faded away into a world of crystal and stars. Everything was shrouded in darkness, but not in a frightening way. It was as if the world wanted to wrap them up in a blanket of stars and gently rock them to sleep. Silver felt oddly soothed, standing at the gate and staring up at the twilight sky. Normally the strange magic around this place made them suspicious, but this they rather liked. At least for now. Phosphor, a young Houluh pup, was tucked safely under their arm as they passed through the gate into the mysterious glowing wonderland. The light blue and white parts of her fur near her belly almost appeared to glow in the soft moonlight. "Well how about that," Silver said. "You fit right in here, don't you?" It wasn't something they had done on purpose, but it did make them smile. 1[114.6; 0.2]

Silver lifted Phosphor into the air so that she was at eye level with them. She licked their nose and opened her mouth into an awkward puppy grin. She liked being carried around! They giggled and looked away for a second to catch their breath before they forgot what they were supposed to be doing. "Now that's very cute," they said, "but we're here to get some work done, okay? I am going to put you down now, and I am expecting you not to run away. Do you got that?"
Silver highly doubted that she 'got that' from the look on her face, but there was no way to find out without putting her down, so that's what they did. They gently held her against the ground and she excitedly yapped when the could ground touched her pawpads. It was weird! She liked it. She tapped her feet on the ground, wiggling and trying to free herself from Silver's grasp.

"You are totally not going to stay put when I set you down, now are you?" Silver asked. Despite knowing the answer, they gave it a try anyway.
They slowly released her sides and watched her dash off through the grass. She loved grass! She loved moonlight! She loved sparkles! She loved everything! Silver shook their head and hopped off after her. They didn't mind if she did a bit of exploring, but they didn't want her to get out of sight. Luckily for them, she was almost glowing against the ground due to the stark white pattern on her face.
"Phosphor! Come back here, please," they said. The first couple of times they would ask nicely, even though they knew it wouldn't work. Puppies were pretty predictable, so while they weren't worried, they did know that they had some obedience training in their near future. She would have to at least know how to come when called if they wanted to explore anything but the front yard.

Phosphor found something on the ground she wanted to sniff at, so she briefly paused her run to wag her tail furiously and poke the ground with her nose. It smelled so interesting! This place was fascinating. Then she looked up and noticed that Silver was getting close to her. Were they playing a game? Well, they were now! She yipped cutely and hopped away.
"C'mon Phosphor, you have to come back now. Phooooosphor! You got it girl," they clicked their tongue which did succeed in making her turn her head. "Yea there we go, Phosphor," they clicked again. "You can do it, come here Phosphor!" When she still didn't stop sauntering away aimlessly, they decided that it was time to bring out the treats. It was inevitable, so they knew to bring plenty. New puppies and bags of treats were synonymous in their mind. They quickly felt around in their bag with one hand while continuing to follow after Phosphor.

The familiar shaking of a treat bag made Phosphor stop in her tracks. She knew exactly what that was. Her ears perked right up and she spun around so quickly that she stumbled. As much as she wanted treats, however, she also was reluctant to stop playing the slowly-run-away game. It was so much fun, but the treats were so yummy! "Phosphor," Silver called out clearly, giving the bag another shake. She couldn't resist. She trotted forward and stopped just short of Silver's reach. That was enough to get a treat, right? She looked cutely up at him with her biggest puppy eyes. "Nah, keep it up, come here Phosphor," they said. Silver wiggled the treat in the air until eventually, Phosphor gave up and crept closer. "Ah, good enough," they said. They tossed the treat at her, vastly overestimating her ability to catch it. It bounced off her nose and hit the ground, and she gladly gobbled it up, a little magical grass included. 5[114.8; 1] [Phosphor: Come (to Name) - 3]

Silver cringed as they watched her eat a mouthful of grass. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea after all. They really hoped that it was just like normal grass and she would be able to cough it up or poop it out. Silver closed their eyes and shook their head. Of course that's what would happen. It wasn't weird magical grass that was going to poison her forever. That was just silly. Right?
Phosphor was looking up at Silver with her tongue flopped out one side of her mouth. She wanted more treats, please! She even made a little yip to get their attention just in case that helped. "You did a good job there, but you're going to have to try again if you want more goodies," they said. They scratched the top of her head with their gloved hand and urged her to continue wandering around the garden so that they could keep going.

It didn't take Phosphor long to get bored of begging for treats. She had things to do, flower patches to explore, bugs to chase! She wandered off again and like always, Silver was right behind her. They left just enough distance between them so that she could explore freely, but not so much that she could be out of their sight easily. After giving her some time to wander away, they started to call her back again. "Phosphor, come on Phosphor," they said. Just like last time, it eventually got to the point where they needed to pull out the treats as a bribe.
"Okay Phosphor, one more time," they said when she inevitably wandered away again. "Phoooosphor," they called. This time she came back without the explicit offer of treats, though she did expect one. She was not that disappointed when the only thing on offer this time was some good ear rubs. She liked that well enough that she forgot about the treats for a second.
