The effort it took Ashe to bite his tongue to keep back the comments, almost severed a highly skilled muscle. These two ladies had nothing else to complain about except for free candy? Ashe would gladly take it all! He hoped the look on his face didn't give him away as he quickly accepted the quest. All he had to do was stake out their shops and see if he could see who dropped off candy? Sounded simple. They were probably just sneaky enough to look normal to get by a shopkeeper, but Ashe doubted they were sneaky enough to stake out and wait and take notice if Ashe did the same. So all that was left, was for Ashe to grab a companion (seeing as most people traveled with at least one), and get out there. He chose today his little puppy, recently born - yes, born! Not hatched - that he named Calcifer, after a fire demon in some story he'd read. He liked to name his creatures after demons and gods and such, so he fit right in. Plus, his fur had a reddish hue, like fire. Cal sniffed around, curious of everything around him, tugging on his leash when Ashe wanted to go one way and he wanted to go another. The Questing Inquisitor's shop was a rather unique piece of work. It wasn't with the other shops, located more in the center of the city (A bazaar if you would) but rather in the outskirts of town. It would make it a little more difficult to dart between shops, so Ashe decided to hang out around here for a couple of hours first. He found a nice place to sit down, leaning against a tree. He kept his full attention focused on Cal, ruffling the puppy's ears and scratching, grabbing his muzzle playfully. He hadn't owned Cal for too long, though he was trying to get him used to everything life threw at him. Sometimes, it was too much for Cal, and the pup's ears went down, his tail tucked, and he would stop responding in a playful manner. It was then that Ashe would stop, give the pup a break, and pet him soothingly.
Ashe glanced up once again at the shop front, and noted that no one strange had entered or left.

The stake out was a failure at the moment. Nothing was happening. Ashe walked Cal around outside, around the store and away a bit, then back. He tried not to keep his back to the building for too long. It occurred to him, once he returned - was there a back entrance? Possibly that someone could slip into, and out of, without ever being visible? He casually walked around behind, but he didn't see anything that was accessible or unlocked. So he went back around the front.
Cal's nose was going a mile a minute, checking out everything, smelling the places where other creatures and people have walked recently. His tail wagged fast, when he was looking around, and slowed when he found something exciting to sniff. He seemed extremely unconcerned with the task at hand, or anything Ashe was doing. It was refreshing, really, to watch the little baby animal basically enjoy life. Ashe suddenly smacked himself in the forehead; he should have had Cal sniff the candy!

If Ashe would have thought to have Cal sniff the candy, perhaps he would have been able to follow a trail. But... He was a pup, not a grown trained adult yet. So he probably would have just eaten the candy. Shrugging his shoulders, Ashe glanced around again. He didn't see anyone looking suspicious, or anyone carrying candy for that matter. Maybe they wouldn't come today? Or maybe they were already at the other location. Ashe checked the time, then set to finding a place to sit down. He decided to pass some time by playing a game of fetch with the puppy. While risky to let him off the leash, if Ashe left the leash on and just let him run loose a bit, it shouldn't harm anything surely. He found a nice grassy patch and sat down, pulling a ball out of a pocket. When he pulled the ball out, a treat tumbled out too, and Cal perked up instantly.

"No, boy, down!" Ashe yelped, hurrying to grab the treat off the grass before Cal was able to get it. He managed, and had it put away, but Cal wasn't convinced. He kept sniffing the ground where it had been, as if searching for crumbs, and eventually he looked up at Ashe with deep, soulful eyes. Where did it go? Why?
His ears perked up once again when Ashe showed him the squeaky ball. He squeaked it once, getting the puppy so excited he did a butt wiggle. He squeaked it again, then rolled it across the ground. When Cal ran for it, Ashe had a half of a split second to decide; did he dare? He did dare. He let the leash go, and Cal ran to the ball. He pounced, tripped, and landed on top of the ball. Standing back up, he shook his head, then snatched up the ball in his mouth. He squeaked it a few times before returning to Ashe with his bounty.

There was indeed the scent of candy nearby, even if the little puppy hadn't caught wind of it yet. The clear thing had been blown up against the building by a rogue wind, but it was obviously a Vakrah candy wrapper judging by the grotesque pink hearts drawn on it in some kind of permanent marker. Must be home-made... Maybe it would lead to the culprit?
[No success yet.]

Cal's nose sniffed, inhaling deeply and rapidly. Something exciting was nearby! His tail stilled as he tried to focus, turning his head this way and that. It was all fun and games when you had a sensitive sense of smell, but it was a while different game when you didn't quite know what the smells meant or where they were coming from. It seemed like it was close, but the breeze was enough to confuse him. His tail swayed a bit in his thought process, and he lowered his head to sniff the ground, hoping the scent was stronger there. And it seemed to be. He walked forward a little bit, reaching the end of the leash. He gave a tug, and Ashe relented, letting Cal lead the way. It seemed like there was something interesting down there and if it led to tracking down this lovesick guy, he was more than happy to let Cal do his thing. He followed the pup, and the pup took one step after another.

The pup led them to the side of the building, with Ashe hurrying to keep up with him so the leash didn't pull or choke him. He was an enthusiastic little pup, and Ashe wanted to encourage his natural instincts. So he made sure not to interrupt or distract, and now here the were, at the side of the building, sniffing. Ashe wondered if maybe the perp had leaned against this wall and the pup was sniffing it out. Maybe they would have a trail to follow after this and be that much closer to catching this guy. What would they do after they caught him, though, Ashe wondered? Shove him up against a wall and demand to know why he was...sending candy? Ashe didn't know what these girls were upset about, seriously! he was just in it for the reward at the end of the capture. He sighed and looked down, watching the little sniffer go, waiting for him to get all the information he needed.

Cal finally found what it was that smelled so good. Too bad for Ashe, it was not the perp they were looking for, but it was this little clear piece of plastic. He snuffled it really good, and licked it once. It didn't taste as good as it smelled and, while the temptation was there to eat it anyway, Cal spit it back out and went to sniffing again. This action brought Ashe's attention down to ground level and he spotted the wrapper. He stooped to pick it up, looked it over. "Ah-ha!" He said, holding it high. "A clue!" That's what they always said in the stories, right? There were detectives out there who could figure out where to go next after this, simply by looking at the wrapper, thinking about the brand of candy, and recognizing the place it was sold. Or... something. But Ashe was nothing like those detectives, he was rather unskilled in this direction. He gave a sigh, pocketed the trash until he could find a can, and tugged Cal away from the building.

Well, that was a bust. It hadn't been a real clue, at least not a helpful clue, at all. This could be a piece of candy left by their perp while he waited for a good time to deliver candy. Or - it could have simply been someone else eating candy during this very candy centric holiday. When he found a public trash can, Ashe threw it away. "What do yo say we check out the Hunter's Lodge next?" Ashe suggested. Calcifer looked up at him and woofed happily, eager to play and explore some more. Ashe took this as an affirmative and he took his little pal away from the Questing Inquisitor's shop, to go explore the Lodge. The walk was a good distance away and along the path they took, Cal had to stop and sniff many, many things. So many things. Ashe sighed every time he stopped, and checked the sky for the time. He felt like the day was slipping away from him and he wouldn't be able to catch this guy!

They made it to the Lodge and Ashe gave it a good once over, visually. He walked inside, greeted the shopkeep, and took note of the people in there. Then he walked the perimeter. Once everything was scoped out pretty well, he decided to back off a little bit and wait. He and Cal found a nice grassy spot and he sat down, with Cal promptly strutting over and planting his butt right on Ashe's lap. The man rubbed the pup's sides and scratched him where he liked, then he tackled him to the ground and they play-wrestled a little bit. Though Ashe gave him most of his attention, he kept an eye on the place to see if any shady guys were around with a bucket of candy to drop off. They said that the guy stopped by every day to deliver more... He just had to figure out what time and where. Hopefully he hadn't missed this guy on the way over from the Inquisitor's shop! He glanced at the sky again, then rubbed Cal's belly as they waited.

You have rolled a Success! Your QP will be added to the bank, and your prizes will be sent to you shortly. You may continue roleplaying if you wish (take the following info into consideration when continuing roleplaying ;3).
------------------
After all that hard work (including whatever you did afterward) you are given your first glimpse of whoever has been leaving those horrendous notes...
A young boy wearing a sweater and shorts was holding a little box of candies and a card when he was glimpsed sneaking suspiciously close to the building, and then when he was spotted he tried to run away! After running directly into Jolyne, he turns around, looking sheepish. A tongue lashing by Odoshi later, and the boy was trying to defend himself- "I am not trying to uh, trying to be weird or anything!" He finally shouts, the poor thing couldn't be any older than ten. "I just want to open a candy shop! We were thinking about Selling Vakrah stuff too, but I knew that we needed to uh, advertise!" He looked really sheepish. "I thought y'all would be okay with it, but I was too embarrassed to ask!" He hangs his head in shame.
Who knew that the Vakrah Incident was a misunderstanding all along? The tiny entrepreneur was let off lightly by the two prickly shop keepers all things considered, and told that he can ask any time he wished (it was better than frustrating everyone at least).
