Another February day was in full swing, and Fiera Ferella intended to make full use of it. She was dressed in an ovesized fur coat, the soft material spilling from every inch, with an equally oversized set of sunglasses pressed to her face, rhinestones lining the edge. The tips of the fur were dyed a pale blue, matching the pet she had brought with her. Kaito was a recently acquired denizen of her kennels- an offspring malii that she heard had an ancestry that granted vast intelligence to select offspring. Kaito was unfortunately still too young to really tell if he inherited it, but Fiera decided to spend a good deal of time with him just in case. You could never spend too much time bonding with a pet after all, and for the intelligent ones it was important. Regardless, even if Kaito didn’t have an intelligent personality, he still had a beautiful coat. Fiera 1 Kaito 0.1/0.1 1

He had short fur that was a beautiful sky blue color, a shade that Fiera knew she just HAD to coordinate her outfit with. As a result he was stuffed into a slightly paler leather bag, sitting in it like a small dog. As a felid though, he seemed more than happy to just laze around, blinking slowly in the weak February light.
Still, showing off her latest look wasn’t all that Fiera had planned for the day, though it was a large part. She was hoping to find a job worth taking at the quest board today. She was picky as usual, but February always brought a great deal of easy jobs- delivering flowers, writing poems, etc. And what could she say, she needed some spare pocket change. Kaito could do with the socializing as well- the baby had nothing but her other creatures to play with, and certainly no other malii.

As she approached the quest board, she saw two other figures standing in front of it, and she couldn’t help but frown. Surely no one else was snatching up her work! She started walking a little bit faster, and one of the figures turned to look at her due to the sound of her clicking heels. “Hey, you th- oh no.” One of the figures said, waving before immediately snatching her hand back. Fiera pretended she didn’t notice, but as she approached the woman in question, her lips broke into a sly smile. “Well hello, Jolyne. It’s been a while.” The mammalian tried to not look Fiera in the eye. The two of them had met before, and Fiera knew that the woman didn’t enjoy her presence in the slightest- not that she had failed any of the tasks she had been given. Fiera was well aware that she was good at her job, and would rub it in the face of anyone who insinuated otherwise.

The other was a small fae that seemed familiar, though it took Fiera a moment to place it. “And… Odoshi, correct? I’ve bought a tat-lung from you before.” She said, recalling her dynasty tat-lung, Banzai, with fondness. The fae’s eyebrow quirked up. “Yeah, that’d be me.” She grunted. Fiera did a mini curtsey, garnering an eye roll from at least one of them. “Well, it’s a pleasure to see you both out here today. What brings you all the way to the quest board?” The pair shared a look with each other before Jolyne begrudgingly began to explain. “It would appear we share… a secret admirer of sorts. Someone keeps leaving us Vakrah candy when we aren’t looking.” Fiear chuckled, placing a hand over her mouth demurely. “Well that doesn’t sound like too much of a problem. I’d take it as a compliment, Jolyne- you likely don’t get secret admirers too often.”

The mammalian shot her a sour glare, but Odoshi only continued talking. “Well, it isn’t.” She snapped. “We haven’t been able to catch them- or even find a clue of who they are! A gap in security that big is a real problem for folks in businesses like ours.” She said, drumming her fingers on her arm. Fiera supposed she could see the sense in that- being able to sneak into and out of a place that dealt in such valuable creatures as The Hunter’s Lodge? Someone could steal thousands of credits worth of creatures in just one night. Let alone whatever Jolyne was messing with in magework. “If you can catch whoever it is, we’ll make it worth your while.” Odoshi said, elbowing Jolyne in the leg before the mammalian could protest. She opened her mouth for a moment, outraged, before snapping it shut and nodding in begrudging agreement.

Fiera made a show of mulling it over for a while, though she really had no intention of turning down the offer. Anything that could prove her superiority over these two? Being able to complete a task that they were incapable of? It was a thought sweeter than their unwanted candy. Finally, she gave them a polite bow. “Ladies, I would be honored to help you with your problem. I can only imagine how you feel right now.” Fiera said, and to her credit didn’t react when Jolyne snorted irritably. “It’s happening to both of you, right? I suppose I’ll just head over to one of your shops and take a look, eh?” She said. Odoshi simply shrugged. “I guess that’s the best place to start. I don’t really give a crap what you do so long as this person gets caught.” Fiera nodded politely, gave her final goodbyes, and sashayed away from the quest board.

After some deliberation, she decided to approach The Hunter’s Lodge. It was a longer trip to be sure, but Fiera felt like she ultimately got along better with Odoshi… not to mention, she wanted to scope out what sort of wares she had in the shop today. New pets were always coming in there, sometimes ones that even Fiera hadn't seen before. And while she didn't think she could get away with... 'adopting' one that 'got lost' under Odoshi's watchful eye, it never hurt to check out what rare and fashionable pets were on the market next. Who knew, maybe she could even schmooze the shop owner into giving her a discount the next time she came. Now wouldn't that be something to have. First though, she'd have to get there, so the humanish set out, with a malii in her bag and the desire for money and candy in her heart.

You have rolled a Success! Your QP will be added to the bank, and your prizes will be sent to you shortly. You may continue roleplaying if you wish (take the following info into consideration when continuing roleplaying ;3).
------------------
After all that hard work (including whatever you did afterward) you are given your first glimpse of whoever has been leaving those horrendous notes...
A young boy wearing a sweater and shorts was holding a little box of candies and a card when he was glimpsed sneaking suspiciously close to the building, and then when he was spotted he tried to run away! After running directly into Jolyne, he turns around, looking sheepish. A tongue lashing by Odoshi later, and the boy was trying to defend himself- "I am not trying to uh, trying to be weird or anything!" He finally shouts, the poor thing couldn't be any older than ten. "I just want to open a candy shop! We were thinking about Selling Vakrah stuff too, but I knew that we needed to uh, advertise!" He looked really sheepish. "I thought y'all would be okay with it, but I was too embarrassed to ask!" He hangs his head in shame.
Who knew that the Vakrah Incident was a misunderstanding all along? The tiny entrepreneur was let off lightly by the two prickly shop keepers all things considered, and told that he can ask any time he wished (it was better than frustrating everyone at least).

Upon arrival, The Hunter’s Lodge was silent. That made sense to Fiera, though. The pets you could get here were very… deluxe, but they could take a while to arrive. Due to the high prices and long wait time, it wasn’t exactly a spot that people just milled around in. Still, at least that meant that the humanish was less likely to get distracted. She crept back into the bushes behind the building, hoping to herself that she didn’t look too gaudy. She stared directly at the door of The Hunter’s Lodge, keeping an eye for anyone and everything that was going in and out. As the hours passed though, that was mostly Odoshi, or her approved hunters with their findings. Not exactly thrilling. Fiera found herself getting bored after a while, and resisted the urge to check her phone. Even Kaito had fallen asleep in her purse, rested on the ground.

Soon though, Fiera found her eyelids growing heavy with boredom. Kaito’s little snores were soothing, and the biting cold had been easing off as the sun crept higher in the sky. And after all, cats were used to taking naps. She did her best to resist the sleepy urges, but soon found herself drifting closer and closer to sleep, until her chin sunk down to her chest and her breathing deepened. She didn’t dream- she hardly had time too- it was just the yawning blackness of rest. Until a hissing noise pierced the darkness. She snorted and awoke with a start, blearily opening her eyes and fumbling at her hip for a gun that hadn’t been there for years by this point. She glanced around, confused as to where she was. Then, she saw Kaito. For once, he was awake- and hissing loudly in the direction of The Hunter’s Lodge.

Fiera didn’t hesitate for a moment, snatching Kaito’s bag up and sprinting toward the Lodge. Her time had arrived! “Stop, uh-” She paused, trying to think. “Thief?” She finished lamely. They hadn’t mentioned that the person who had been sneaking in was STEALING anything, but she didn’t really have anything else in her head right now. She had just woken up, after all. Without even thinking, she pounced upon a person who was leaving a basket of candy at the front doorstep, knocking them over with a lot more ease than she was expecting. When she turned them over, two terrified eyes set in the face of a child looked up at her. “Aw, crud.” Fiera said, realizing that she had just tackled a kid. “I’m going to get in trouble for this, aren’t I.” Well… even if she got yelled at, at least they might give her some candy as a consolation prize.
