So we all know that certain moved can be taught to almost anything: Sit, stay, no. Some moves can be taught with conditions: Bite to those with teeth, scratch to those with claws. And some can be taught with relating skills: Sun Spot as a weak version of Sun From The Heavens.
However, those conditions on the last type are very blurry. They currently require approval each time. Could there be a list similar to the custom stat list that makes it more clear what can be taught?
For example: -weaker versions (Scratch < Rend) -ranged vs melee (Like how flame bite =/= breathe fire) -situational (having Heat Wave makes sense to train Inner Warmth) -anatomical (having fiery feet allows Flame Claw)
And when I say a list, it could be general like above - yet thoroughly explained. Or it could be a move-by-move list. Perhaps just a new list of the already existing move list, this time with both the conditions to train it and what it allows to be trained.
For example: Icicle Beam [Flt] [Nrs] An ice-cold beam of energy is released at the opponent. 6 Damage Cold - 7 Condition: Strong ice elemental theme, mentality 4(to show the ability to use strong non-physical moves), Breath of Winter (as an example to show teaching this is related to another similar ice move. Not that this specific one is a good example.) Allows: Cold Breath, Ice Mist.
That was just a loose example, not an attempt at relating those specific moves.

I guess I don't see the necessary reason behind it, but I could take a look at it at some point?

I can see where you're coming from, but idk if I like the idea of a hard list for something that's supposed to be as flexible as training? It usually doesn't come up enough that I need special approval, and it usually doesn't take too long to shout into the chatbox "hey could i teach this lamadidron electric bite. is that ok". Especially considering that it would have to be done for the entirety of the moves list, and something could be easily missed, probably? And then can never be taught again even if it makes sense because it's a hard rule now. To be fair though, I'm probably not thinking through it very well- I've been awake for a long time right now and I'm probably not thinking straight. XD

Due to the fact that it's pretty easy to simply ask one of us if something is acceptable and the fact that it's supposed to be a somewhat fluid system, this suggestion has not been accepted.
