She was super excited as she walked up to the Breeding Center with Showa, one of her recent purchases. He was a surprise, definitely, she thought she was going to get a regular rare one, but that wasn't what she'd gotten, she'd gotten a Koi instead! Not like she was complaining, but still, it was a wonderful surprise. Jack beamed happily, she'd dropped Comma off with Renathan to meet them later, and she was pleased she'd gotten him out of the house after awhile. She wasn't sure if he was still feeling the issue with the Pit, but he hadn't been doing much lately, which made her sad. Oh well, maybe this would get him out and about for at least a little while, and she was going to give him one of the offspring, definitely, for helping her out. Showa bounded along beside her on the leash until they made it to the Breeding Center and then they waited outside for Renathan and Comma.

Renathan had been pretty shocked when he was asked to help with a jackaroo breeding. The first question was; Jackaroo can breed? What? And the next was, What is a Jackaroo? The russet mammalian actually hadn't heard of one, but when he was shown Comma, he realized that the name made a lot of sense. They were little jackalope-looking things, and they kind of looked dangerous as well. "Come on little... Uh, Comma?" Renathan said, taking a minute to remember her name as he did so. He didn't know how this was going to play out, they weren't really like orbaru, were they?
He was excited to see Jack, of course. He'd been really quiet for a long time, and felt pretty bad about not seeing her as often. He did have a job, but he could probably try to stop doing it as much to go see her... He can see her now, at the door. He waves. "Hey Jack!" His face split into a grin beneath his mask.

They waited for a little bit, not long really, until she saw him coming down the street with little Comma, "Renathan, hi!" She reached out to hug him tightly if he allowed it, and then she opened the door for all of them to fit through before she herself went through, leading Showa. He did a strange hop-skip-jump kind of walk and she smiled a little at that. Waiting in line, she filled out her part of the paperwork before letting Renathan put his name on the breeding and then found a seat. It all happened rather quickly, though these were new forms and all that, but that was fine. Jack was a quick learner it seemed. She smiled up at Renathan and patted the seat next to her for him to sit down in, "How've you been? How's the Cafe?" Showa stared at Comma, however, unsure of what to think of her right now. He'd seen her at the shop of course, but that didn't mean much at the moment.

Renathan wasn't the best at figuring out how to get Comma to do what he wanted. She was a lot stronger than an orbaru and actually seemed to have some kind of instinct about danger, unlike orbaru. It was touch and go for a bit. Renathan was so happy to see Jack that he kind of clumsily went into the door, as if he had forgotten how for a second, or to do it at all. "I've been doing well enough. You know I hate the cold weather so I'm biding my time until it gets warm again." That was kind of an understatement, but it wasn't too bad. "The cafe is doing well though, so many orders for warm winter gear actually." He mentioned. "How about you, Jack?" He was really more excited to hear about her, it was good to see her.
Comma had her eyes on Showa, cautious but interested, her ears flicking. She scratched her face shyly, not hurting herself in the process, of course. She was glad to be out and about, she didn't particularly like cages much.

Showa had been pretty intent on where to go once the woman had gone in a certain direction. Maybe he could smell the pheromones or something... Jack simply shrugged and smiled at Renathan again, so pleased to see him she didn't really act like herself anymore, which was weird. Maybe there was something wrong with her, that was the best idea she had at the moment at least. "I'm doing well I suppose. Doing what I always do! Training and breeding, though I've gotten into Houluh a little now as well, I've even bred my Matronne already to one named Nico," she said, tilting her head and wondering if that name might be familiar to him. Not that she thought he knew all animals in the Labs, but there could be something there.
Showa leaned against Comma with a chirp and scratched his own long ear for a moment before wiggling his tail and hopping around on the leash, wondering when things would start to happen.

The russet mammalian was shivering a bit as he wrapped his shoulder-wrap around him more snug-ly. He disliked the cold quite a bit. His fur was built for the swamps, not for the frost of a deciduous area. He tried not to think about it too much, but he really should start thinking about wearing clothes similar to that of the populace here in the winter. He wasn't sure if he could get used to pants? Would they even fit his legs? He wasn't sure. "Ah, houluh? I've heard of them, but I don't think I'll wind up getting into them. I've got enough critters as-is!" He exclaimed, chuckling. "I don't know a lot about 'em, just that that kid that comes to my cafe-" Oh yeah, he hadn't told anyone that he was the reason that poor kid was now a little cracked out of their mind on magic... Woops. "Has a bigger houluh now. Must've grown or something." He says. "What does your houluh look like?" He asks, grinning.
Jack never does anything in half measures, after all. It was inspiring.
Comma did a little jump, sort of like a jerboa would do when surprised, at the lean of the male, and then after realizing that it was indeed the male she hopped back, sniffing at him with her tiny nose. She flipped her tail tuft this way and that way, curious of him.

"Need a coat?" Jack asked, offering him hers when she saw him shivering. She always forgot he came from a swamp, he wasn't used to the cold yet, which shouldn't surprise her but always managed to when she thought about it, "Come on, don't want you catching cold Ren..." Smiling a little, she reached out to touch his arm lightly, loving the feel of his fur on her skin. "Oh! Maybe that's the one Luna bred with then? She's mostly black with red points and a crescent moon on her muzzle," the woman said with a smile, thinking of her Matronne, "It's a lot of work, though not as much as some of the other stuff out there."
Tilting his head, he chirped and jumped as well when she reacted the way she did. That was odd, he didn't understand that at all, but whatever, maybe it was a game? He rocked back on his heels and then held up his forepaws, wondering what she would do if they touched on her terms.

Renathan's grin fell to a more subdued, very heartfelt smile, almost shy. He was glad he had his mask on. "No, but thank you so much! I'm sure that it'll be warm enough in here and I'll get warmed up right away." He felt a little ashamed, but he was really thankful that Jack was so kind to him, and a little shy of it at the same time. He listened intently, his ears leaned forward a bit, and then he nodded. "Luna is a great name, especially considering the moon!" He said, wrapping his tails around his legs partially, to keep them out of the way. "I believe it. Anything like Sarane at all?" He asks. Sarane hadn't been in season for a long time, and honestly he wasn't sure if he wanted to get into them again someday. He had plenty, they were hard enough to take care of.
Comma wasn't really sure what to do, at first, when the male held out his arms to her. She was really curious about him, but also a little cautious as well. He looked really different! Lots of spots! It broke up his shape quite nicely. She butted her head into his arms, her ears twitching a bit as she did so. Then she held out her arms as well, emulating him.

Nodding, Jack smiled softly, "Of course, but let me know if you change your mind. I should really start bringing a blanket or two in this bag..." She muttered softly to herself about it as she dug through her seemingly never ending bag, brown and patched up from years of use and abuse, and it held everything she wanted in it as well! "I thought it fit rather well," she told him with a little chuckle, and then she shook her head, "You have to train them a little to for their show you do for them before they can grow up to be an adult. I guess it has to do with their goddess? But it's not as... intense. You don't fight anyone with them, and while there's a show that's been rumored to go head to head with other owners, none of them have been done yet." Giving a little sigh, she knew where he was coming from, she had a lot of Sarane as well, and if they came back into season, she really didn't know if she would get into them or not again. She probably would, but there would at least be resistance.
As she held her paws out to him, he slowly reached out with one of his and pressed his palm against one of hers. Showa beamed a little and then chirruped at her a little, smiling as widely as he could with this new contact.

Renathan couldn't help but feel his heart ka-thump whenever Jack smiled. He really liked to see her looking happy. What was wrong with him? He fought the urge to facepalm internally at himself and his dumb reactions. She was just... Jack. "Thank you, Jack." He said softly. He was almost too shy to even say that. Jack was always really good at naming stuff. Most of his pets had some funky names, just things he'd read or heard before that sounded good. "Oh? That is interesting? I've heard a bit about the gods and goddesses that Pethians worship, but I don't know a whole lot about them?" That was something he wouldn't mind hearing about a bit more!
The long-eared Mammalian watched as the two Jackalopes, both owned by Jack, seemed to be playing. He didn't really know a whole lot about them, or how they should interact, so it would be nice to learn about it. He was mostly here to assist, after all! The chirrup was a cute noise, though.
Comma thought the noise was pretty cute as well, it would seem. His palms were up against hers. She hadn't really done this before, so she was really curious to get a good look at his claws. They looked pretty good for digging! If only there was somewhere to dig around here...

Finally they were called to the breeding room, and Jack smiled and stood up, shouldering her bag and taking a better hold of Showa's leash, "Shall we, then?" Giving a little shrug, she managed to tell him with a little resignation, "I don't know a whole lot about them either really, which is a shame because I'm sure it's fascinating, there's just not much time to do research when there's so much to do around the Labs right now, you know?" Shaking her head a little, she shrugged again and then went into the room that had been opened for them. There was a little dirt pit in one corner, but other than that it looked like a normal Orbaru room.
Showa shrieked with delight and pawed at the leash until the woman let him go and he hopped toward the dirt and started to dig, chirping at the female with pride in his voice as he dug, offering her some of the dirt space for her to play in as well. "Is there anything you've been wanting to do lately?" Jack asked Renathan.

Renathan followed after Jack to the breeding room, with Comma following on the leash with a bit of difficulty. She didn't really know Renathan well, and it was a little hard to get such a wild animal to go anywhere, especially since animals didn't usually understand much of anything of course. "Sure, I'll be right behind you!" He said. Already he was starting to get a little warmer. Thank goodness it was warm in here. "That is interesting!" He had been under the impression that most Pethians followed the same deities, but it made sense that not all of them did. He just hadn't really thought about it much. "You're right about that. Lots of projects and all." He said, a little nervously. He glanced around the room curiously. How odd!
Comma followed after Showa as soon as she was allowed off of the leash (Renathan was glad to be able to do it, she'd been pulling a lot and his arms were actually a little sore due to it). She just about wanted to leap into the dirt, but didn't quite make it before tumbling on in.
"Not really, to be honest... The winter kinda gets me like this." He admitted. "I have been needing to go into the mines though?" Wow, that sounded boring, good job Renathan.

She managed a little chuckle and she nodded as she took a seat inside the room, watching the two Jackaroo play together in the dirt. "I know the feeling, I've been taking a Houluh into the mines lately, but nothing beats having a familiar down there..." she started, then glanced over at Renathan with a bright look, "Speaking of, how is Auburn doing?" It had been a long time since she'd seen Renathan, it was probably longer since she'd seen his familiar. Of course it felt odd not having Tok with her, but she kept the spell up almost indefinitely so he didn't have to cling to her like most of them did to their masters.
Chirping happily, Showa reached out to try and help Comma up, wondering what had happened to her. What had she tripped over anyway? It didn't make much since, but he was trying to be nice to her at the moment, it didn't hurt or anything, did it?

Jack seemed to be happy enough, and really, Renathan was more interested in her than he was in the jackaroo at all. They were cute and awesome, sure, and he was glad about it, but he was honestly kind of head over heels about her and wasn't sure what to do with himself about the situation. "I know you are the most brave and adventurous person I've ever met- but be careful down in the mines... I know you don't really need my warning but, oh geeze, I've told you about Lisle, right?" he said, looking a bit concerned beneath his mask. The concern comes out in his tremulous voice. "Auburn is doing great actually!" He said, excitedly. "She's a sweety, but I don't like dragging her around to anywhere too dangerous... And of course anywhere where I don't know exactly how the animals are going to react." That was the truth.
Comma seemed pretty excited to see the dirt, but she was more excited to be able to play with Showa in a way that she felt more confident with. She rubs around in the dirt, and then realizes that the male seems curious about her. Oh? Oh he was worried over her fall! She was fine, of course, just fell over her feet. She pushed her head into his shoulder carefully.
