Finding a wild creature was a bit of a surprise. The appearance of a large, oversized bug was an even greater surprise. Fanged didn’t have much experience with bugs. She didn’t even have much experience with regular bugs. She supposed she had dealt with a few pests during some quests, but she had never really properly interacted with the creatures. Ingrid let out a trill of excitement. It was a strangely musical sound, but Fanged felt delighted to hear it. Now they would have to figure out how to tame this creature. The Golossle appeared to be rather docile. It munched away happily on the plants that were nearby. Ingrid made the decision about what to do next for her. She marched forward with confidence, intending to confront the wild beast head on. Ingrid held no fear as she approached. The Golossle didn’t have much of a reaction to the small creature.

Fanged watched intently. She didn’t want the Malii to be harmed, but she also didn’t want to interfere. The Golossle switched its gaze to the small critter. It didn’t seem perturbed, more curious than anything else. It watched Ingrid for a moment before turning back to eat some more plants. Fanged considered their first meeting successful. With that out of the way, she decided to approach the Golossle as well. It didn’t seem alarmed when she stepped closer. Ingrid glanced up at her questioningly before allowing Fanged to do whatever she had in mind. When the Golossle didn’t attack, Fanged took a step closer. It tilted its head as it continued to eat, but it didn’t pay her much attention. Feeling suddenly bold, she stretched out a hand and made physical contact with it. The Golossle responded to her touch by shifting to the side a little. She kept her hand in place.

The Golossle continued to eat. Ingrid decided to approach as well. She sniffed at the air cautiously, trying to commit the strange insect’s scent to memory. With their interaction going calmly, Fanged decided to try and grab the creature’s attention. She glanced around the area. Which plants did it like best? She didn’t have too much knowledge regarding plants. She would have to rely on her eyesight to try and match the ones identical to what the Golossle appeared to favour. She moved closer to the stream and gathered up some of the water plants. Once she had a fistful of some, she stepped back over to the Golossle and offered it to the large creature. Ingrid sniffed at one of the Golossle’s legs. The big beast took no notice of her, but it did appear interested in Fanged when she approached with her hand full of plants to offer it.

The Golossle took a step forward and then another. When it reached Fanged, it clicked its mandibles and accepted the offered plants eagerly. Once it had its fill, it blinked happily up at the woman as though offering her its friendship. Fanged decided that she would take the creature up on its offer. Now that it was somewhat tamed, she would need to get it back to her kennel in order to officially own it. It took a bit of wrangling, but eventually she got the creature to follow her. Ingrid walked alongside the Golossle. She was endlessly curious about this oversized bug. It didn’t take them too long to find their way back to the main road. When they got there, Fanged quickly took the Golossle back to her kennel where it could get acclimated to the space. Once it was settled in, she grabbed Ingrid and returned once again to her garden.

Now that they were back at the garden, Fanged was eager to track down some more wild critters. When they returned, they found themselves in a completely different section of the garden than they had been before. Fanged had still wanted to track down those elusive feline tracks, but that would be a lot more difficult now. She didn’t know where she was or how to get back to the stream. They would need to begin their search from scratch now. Ingrid on the other hand was pleased to explore a new section of the gardens. Her tails flicked back and forth in interest as she observed her surroundings. A flock of birds landed in the trees above. The cawed impatiently as though waiting for the two of them to do something. Fanged couldn’t figure out what they wanted. Perhaps food? She didn’t have anything on her though to give them.

Ingrid reared up onto her back paws in an attempt to catch the birds. They were nowhere near her grasp, but it was a solid effort. Fanged smiled at her antics and watched for a bit before deciding their next path. She first looked for more footsteps. She couldn’t find any, but there were areas of broken branches that would be indication of something walking through the area. Ingrid followed her as Fanged went closer to investigate. The autumn leaves had fallen to the ground in most areas now. Their bright colours were steadily fading, replaced by the dull brown of death. There was a trail of crushes plants and broken twigs that led away in a path. It would be wise to follow it. Ingrid took some initiative in leading them forward. Trees encased them on each side. Even without leaves, the way was thick with bare branches that reached outwards.

If it's footsteps you're looking far, they're not far off. Nearby, there's a rustling among the trees - and then a head pops out, with its mandibles clicking. A koguma...? What's it doing back here? It looks like it wants your attention, but it's hard to tell why without getting closer. Maybe you should take a look. To tame the creature: Make at least 3 RP posts interacting with the creature and trying to tame it. At the end of your taming attempt, make your last post with [done] and wait for staff approval.

Walking through bare trees was more tedious than expected. Just when Fanged thought she was getting the hang of traversing the difficult terrain, Ingrid stopped in her tracks. Fanged automatically stopped as well, curious what had grabbed the Malii’s attention. The small creature stood attentively, as though waiting for something specific to occur. The noise of rustling was obvious enough for the woman to catch it as well and she too waited for whatever it was to reveal itself. It didn’t take long for an arachnid-like creature to make itself known. Ingrid crouched down, not sure whether to pounce on the creature or stay cautiously back. Before she could do anything too hasty, Fanged took a step in front of the Malii and decided to take the initiative with this creature encounter. Now that she had the opportunity, she took a moment to observe the creature and tried to figure out how to make friends with it.

The wild creature appeared rather friendly. Its eyes were wide and curious. It clutched a ripe vegetable in its hands and it looked as though it were stashing a bunch of them in a nearby hollow tree stump. Deciding to be friendly, she tried greeting the creature with a friendly voice.
“Hello there. Would you like some help getting all those vegetables into your cache?” Fanged spoke in a soft, non-threatening tone. At least as much as she could.
The creature raised its head at the sound of her voice. It didn’t understand what she was offering, but it didn’t seem like it was going to chase her away. Fanged took a step closer and then stopped to assess the wild creature’s reaction. It tilted its head curiously, but it made no move to stop her. Ingrid settled down from her hunting pose. Instead, she opted to move closer and help Fanged.

The creature was a bit more wary of Ingrid, but the Malii was small and trying to be as friendly as possible. She crept closer to the Koguma, moving slowly but with purpose. When she didn’t move to attack the wild creature, the Koguma relaxed. Ingrid leaned in closer and sniffed at the wild critter in greeting. The motion was reciprocated by the wild creature, though it moved with a decidedly more bug-like motion than Ingrid did. The interaction allowed them to establish some kind of baseline of trust. Fanged decided to hold out her hand in greeting as well. The Koguma leaned closer and examined her before deciding she could stay at that proximity. Fanged moved slowly but she reached down and picked up a pumpkin that had rolled away from the Koguma’s stash. The wild critter froze for a moment, but soon calmed down when Fanged stepped over to the hollow log.

She dropped the pumpkin into it, adjusting it so that it wasn’t squishing any of the more fragile vegetables that were already in there. The Koguma looked pleased and made an strange, excited noise. There were other vegetables close to them as well. Some weren’t ripe yet, but Fanged decided to collect some of the ripe ones for the wild critter. Ingrid trotted over to help as well. She didn’t have much knowledge of which vegetables were ripe, so she just grabbed a nearby carrot that was discarded on the ground. She moved close to the hollow log, beaming up at the Koguma happily before jumping on top of the log. She then moved over to an opening and dropped the carrot inside. Fanged had finally made her decision to pick an armful of ripe tomatoes before stepping over to the log and lowering them into it. The Koguma watched their efforts intensely.

Now that they had tamed the Koguma, Fanged and Ingrid had to make another trip back to their kennel in order to get the creature settled in. They returned to the garden with renewed determination. Their creature hunting had been a resounding success so far and they both wanted to find more. The path before them had changed once again. This time, their way forward was covered in a thick layer of multi-coloured leaves. Ingrid stepped forward cautiously, not enjoying the moisture that her paws collected as she walked. She narrowed her gaze, instead opting to take running leaps onto dry patches when she could spot them. Fanged had worn hiking boots, so her feet weren’t in any particular danger of getting drenched. She could have forced her Malii into boots as well, but she doubted that Ingrid would have liked that very much. Ahead of her the path divided into two sections.

Ingrid glanced between the two paths and then quickly picked the one that had leaves across it. Fanged grinned as she followed, not blaming the Malii one bit for her choice. The two of them walked alongside as they waited to see where the path took them. The air was crisp as winter approached in the coming month. The sun began to sink into the orange-tinted sky, leaving their surroundings with an eerie glow. Fanged had the feeling that the next creature they would encounter would be something more inclined to thrive in the darkness. She wasn’t particularly prepared for a nighttime expedition, but the thought of one enthralled her.
“Alright Ingrid, let’s see what’s out there,” she spoke while her eyes glittered with excitement.
Ingrid responded by flicking her tails in affirmation. The Malii appeared excited to spend some time outside during the night as well. She downright had an appetite for it.

The sun continued to sink lower, forcing Fanged to squint as she tried to distinguish the scenery around her. A more prepared person might have brought a flashlight, but she hadn’t been thinking that far ahead. Ingrid had better night vision than she did. Even if it wasn’t as good as some creatures, it was still miles better than Fanged’s night=blindness. They walked in silence as they passed through the forest full of lifeless trees. A few wayward dark brown birds flittered among their branches, but they seemed more like an anomaly than a proper fixture of this forest. Ingrid glanced up, hissing a tiny bit when she realized that she wouldn’t be able to reach the birds with her meager height. While the birds distracted Ingrid, Fanged decided to see if she could find some more creature tracks. With the added moisture on the ground, tracks were easier to find.
