The return to the quest board this month is sickly sweet. The entire thing is covered in hearts and stars, with lots of confetti and glitter glue. The entire thing is covered with sappy requests, but the more interesting thing is the two individuals standing in front of it. Jolyne has her arms crossed against her chest and looks unimpressed as a whole. The other individual is a small, deer-legged... fae? Those that have been to the Hunter's Lodge would immediately recognize Odoshi. The two are speaking amicably, but there appears to be something wrong. Jolyne catches sight of you, and immediately calls you over. "Hey you! Yeah, you!" The mammmalian waves at you. "It seems we have the same secret admirer-" She says, and the way she says Admirer makes you feel like she isn't impressed at all. "Someone keeps leaving the same Vakrah candy for us when our backs are turned at our shops. But we haven't seen them to tell them to knock it off." If looks could kill, hers would probably strike someone down at the moment. "We'll give you our candy stash if you find the individual and tell them to knock it off." She looks hopeful, and Odoshi even looks a little less unhappy. Will you assist?
On the Board
In Order to Succeed: Roleplay spending time sleuthing around either the Quest Shop or the Hunter's Lodge in an attempt to find whoever is causing the problem. DO NOT Roleplay actually finding the person- that will be an option to be written once you get a success (there is a story element).
Prize: A candy hoard, and maybe QP?
Challenge Rating: Easy Kioume It was always a good idea to check the quest board at least once a month, since new requests were surely available and you didn't want to miss out on anything that may have an impressive reward. Some people sure were willing to cough up some valuable goods in exchange for sometimes quite simple services. Once in eye view, he could see a flurry of pink and red, and two people who's posture didn't seem thrilled. He grasped the pendent around his neck and Kioume appeared on his shoulder. He stretched out his wings and then rested them again at his 'shoulders', which made Riku look like a human-avian as usual. Riku reached up and scratched Kioume's head, who pushed into the fingers that made him feel good. "Another quest...?" the creature asked, seeing where they were. "I think so...Jolyne doesn't look happy." the boy replied, as they were getting within earshot. 1

Jolyne turns around, arms still crossed, and sees them. "Hey you! Yeah, you!" The mammalian waves.
Kioume spreads his feathered limbs in acknowledgement, a sort of silently returned hello, and Riku smiles warmly. It didn't seem to be as warmly acknowledged by the two people. Finally reaching them, Riku said "Hi there, Jolyne, and...?" He put one hand out towards the fae to signal them to introduce themselves.
"It seems we have the same secret admirer-" Jolyne says, ignoring the gesture for introduction, and the way she says 'admirer' makes it obvious she isn't impressed at all. "Someone keeps leaving the same Vakrah candy for us when our backs are turned at our shops. But we haven't seen them to tell them to knock it off." If looks could kill, hers would probably strike someone down then. Kioume winced, and the human laughed uncomfortably. It didn't fit the energy of the conversation - especially since the deer-legged person was only intensely staring at him. "We'll give you our candy stash if you find the individual and tell them to knock it off." She looks hopeful, but the other person still looks a little less convinced.
"I...can do that." he said, mostly sure of himself. How hard could it be? Besides, with his familiar they'd have four eyes to keep watch. He only hoped the culprit wasn't out of candy - or else he'd be out of a reward......also candy. He put his hands on his hips and smiled again. Smiles didn't often seem to go very far with that mammalian. Not that it would stop him from awkwardly doing it every time they interracted.

"I'm Riku, by the way." he said, turning to the other person. "It's nice to meet you, and I hope that I can help you with this conundrum." Hehe...'Conundrum'. He liked saying fancier sounding words like that. Especially since he knew quite a few of them from his extensive childhood lessons. The person didn't seem very interested in his promises, so he took the still-'polite' silence as a farewell from them both and he turned towards the quest shop building.
Reaching up again, he scratched under the creature's chin this time, and said "Did you get all that?"
"Nope." Kioume scoffed with a bit of a laugh through the ribbon. "You forgot to translate again." He whipped the end of his tail back and forth as a sort of gesture mixed with emotional expression.
"Sorry...I'm not used to having to do that. I'm usually alone with my Malii who use these ribbons."

"Who do you think it is..?" Kioume asked after being caught up. He curled his body around Riku's neck more snug. It was nice having a cuddle-buddy to walk around town or explore with. Not that they had to be so close. Others may not like being so close, but thankfully they had sort of naturally bonded from the start and their dynamic was forged with that close-contact. Perhaps it was the Amulet always around his neck that made Riku especially comfortable with Kioume's touch. He was one for smothering others with love - but not so much being smothered. Somehow this was different. It was like having a scarf that could hear your thoughts.
"I don't know...maybe an ex-lover?" he replied after taking a few seconds to use his imagination. Of course, he had also considered aliens and deities...but he decided to go with the more realistic possibilities. "I think a more useful question right now is where should we stand watch?"

"Well.....The quest shop is open right now, right?" the creature asked.
"Yes, I suppose it is." Riku replied, looking at Jolyne, the shop keeper, who still stood outside.
"We can just keep watch inside." Kioume continued "We don't have to advertise that we're stalking the place for perverts, so whoever it is will likely do the deed right in front of us."
"That....is a really good idea!" Riku said after a second of thinking. "That could work, right? Gosh, I was entirely prepared to go entirely under cover, or dress up like a plant or something." they laughed at the imagery and were relieved it wouldn't be that difficult of a task.
Entering the shop, Riku decided to sit down at the front and watch the door. There was currently no one inside, so whoever it was would have to pass by them. "This should be a good spot. Remember this place from last time...?"

"Of course." Kioume said with a smile and a sort of sneeze. "You came in to spend our points on credits, right?"
"Our...?" Riku laughed. "I guess you did earn almost all of those with me, didn't you? You sure are handy and helpful - so I guess you do deserve half." He leaned his cheek in and rubbed it on the familiar's length. "I have two points right now, I believe. I don't think I can buy anything with it...but do you see anything you might want?" He stepped away from the door to give the creature the opportunity to look, but made sure to keep the entrance within sight and sound.
They passed by a table topped with different toys and a few stuffed animals. He already had those, but there were colors he didn't have...or need either. Another table had an assortment of magical items, which he hadn't acquired yet.

"Any of these, Ki..?" he asked, picking up the Infinice and quickly putting it back down. It already seemed to almost freeze his finger tips in just that quick second, like picking up a dish that had just come out of the oven - except the opposite, temperature-wise. "There are some cool things in this section - but we'd have to save up a lot more quest points for them. That can be arranged, if you want."
Kioume cocked his head as he looked at the magic of the different items, his eyes glowing a bit as he saw into another dimension. "I...don't have any use for any of these, I don't think. Besides, I can't hold anything anyway."
"So what would you like...?"
"I was looking for something we could use together. Some sort of adventure-boosting item, maybe?" he looked around some more. The front counter had the list of credit exchanges, but that wasn't what he wanted either.

A soft gasp above his shoulder, and Riku's familiar spread his wings and left his perch. It was such a quick motion, but the feathered sparkled as they beat the air for only a few feet. He gracefully waved them with a rhythm that allowed him to stay afloat while using his tail end to point.
"That!" he said, moving towards a strange new box they hadn't seen the time before. It had a large red button on the top in the center that just begged to be pressed..."This is what we should get. And they are only one point each!" he emphasized.
"What does it..do?" Riku asked, assuming that was the reason the pendant spirit was so excited.
"I have no idea!!" Kioume said with a toothy grin. He laughed and said "I can't see its purpose, but it's only one point and I have a good feeling about it. We should get as many as we can."

"Okay, if that's what you want." Riku looked out the front glass door to see if Jolyne was anywhere close, but he couldn't see her from his angle. "We'll have to wait until Jolyne comes back inside to make the transfer." He put his arm out for the creature to wrap its tail around and crawl up to his shoulder again. "Perhaps when we're done here she'll be in the mood to help us out - and who knows? Maybe she'll throw in another quest point for doing this stakeout?"
"I hope so...!" Kioume cheered. He was imagining the different things the button could be used for - his favorite was making a boulder fall out of the sky from no known origin. It would be mostly useless, but cool. This world was already weird enough. Why not make it even stranger...?
At that, the front door opened and they both turned around quickly to see if they would be dropping off candy...!

It was a young boy, maybe ten. Could this be the perpetrator...!? The child made eye-contact with Riku and looked a bit skittish. Was he guilty, or just intimidated by a human with wings and a moving scarf? "Hey there." Riku called out to him, waving him to come closer. "What's up, bud...?" Bud? Goodness, he felt old.
"ugh...hi. Just lookin'." he said, shifting his gaze around the room but then back on Kioume. "Is that a dragon...? I've never seen one before."
"Oh, haha! This is Kioume, my Amulet Spirit." he said, reaching up and patting the creature on the side. Kioume latched onto Riku's hand with his tail and crawled down his arm to get a closer look at the littler person. "Wanna pet him...?"
"Wow! Y'know, my brother has a Wiurn. He would kill your dragon dead 'cuz he's really big and strong." he said while affectionately petting the smaller creature.
"Well then..." the young man remarked, awkwardly. "Anyway, have you been leaving candy here by chance?"
"Nope, not me - 'cuz if I did it'd just be wrappers 'cuz I'd eat it all gone, yeup."
Kioume crawled back to Riku's shoulder, finished with the talkative kid's touching. "Guess we're back to square one, then, huh..." he slipped through the ribbon. "Hopefully whoever it is just walks in like this one did - but with a box of candy in his arms. That'd make it obvious."

A cold chill ran through the area for a moment, and it seemed like something good was about to happen. Be on guard, you never know who might be watching...

Riku walked closer to the front door, which was glas, and peered out. The perp wasn't inside, that was for sure. He or she must be nearby...The two who had 'hired' him had said that the person kept coming back and delivering more candy. Surely they would come back a third...or fourth time? He wasn't sure ow long the persistent stalker had been at it that day. Wait, or was this a multiple-day thing...? They didn't specify. He walked out the door and stalked the building. Maybe they went in through the back? Or id on the roof? He looked around as much as he could and tried to stare down anyone who came near the building. He would find this person! He walked back to the quest board to ask Jolyne if there was any more scruptious details they could give him to help them on this daring quest.
