This was weird. Was this weird? Nina had snatched up a little Pachee out of Silver's garden without asking them first. As long as she returned it soon enough, they probably wouldn't even notice. At least she hoped that they wouldn't. She was just so eager to meet up with her friend again that she didn't even care which Pachee she grabbed. Lea was a pretty one though, and she liked her well enough. Nina was not as familiar with Pachee as she was with Orbaru, but she figured it had to be pretty simple. They were just plants, right? Dusty part goes in the other part, bam, new plants. The fact that they looked like cats nonwithstanding. Nina was very prompt so she arrived at the breeding center a little early and asked to be shown to her room. There she waited for Jack with Lea curled up against her arm like a baby. It had taken some convincing to get the plant creature used to a robot carrying it around, but she accepted it eventually. As long as she didn't make any weird noises or anything, they should be fine.

Jack couldn't wait. Nina was into breeding Pachee for the first time, like, ever, and she was pleased that it was with her that this happened. She couldn't wait to see what Pachee she chose, though she supposed it would have to be one of Silver's, she wasn't sure if Nina had any to herself at this point. Maybe this would change things, and she smiled at the thought as she walked to the Breeding Center with Italai in tow. It might not be the first time he was bred, she honestly couldn't remember, but hopefully he would pass on some really cute offspring no matter what happened. The little Pachee didn't know what was in store for him, however, and he softly followed her on the leash, since he couldn't make any verbal noises considering, well, he didn't have a mouth, and that was fine as well. She didn't think she could handle a lot of noise at this point, as bad as that sounded. 2/20

Between the two of them, neither Nina nor Silver owned any proper leashes. Nina just didn't care, and Silver thought they were weird. So she often just carried whatever creature she wanted to work with around with her. She was stronger than most things, so she rarely ran into any trouble. Anything sufficiently big enough not to be carried wouldn't be stopped by a leash anyway. It worked out.
"Jack!" Nina said. The antennae on her head perked up almost like a dog's ears do when their owner gets home. When they got close enough to touch, Nina reached out like she was going for a handshake or a hug or something, but ultimately decided against it. She didn't want to squish or agitate Lea. She still wasn't totally used to how Pachee worked yet.
"It is good to see you. This is Lea, and who is this?" she asked, pointing to the white Pachee. What a cute! Lea started to rouse in her arms, ready to see what everyone was on about.

She was excited to see her friend again and went for a hug, even if Nina seemed to feel a little awkward at this point. She didn't think she was that scary, and it served it's purpose, she hoped, to let Nina know that it was fine if she wanted to hug her. She liked having contact with other people, even if the other person was a TROD. Nina was a person in her eyes, and she figured that mattered more than anything at this point. "This is Italai! I'm glad to see you two!" she announced happily, showing the male off on his leash for the moment.
Jack certainly believed in leashes, they were something that was almost essential to her, she had a lot of animals who didn't listen to her, which was a shame but her own fault at this point. She smiled happily at her friend and went to hug her again, "It's good to see you so much lately!"

Nina was surprised to be hugged, but she welcomed the gesture. She awkwardly held Lea out to the side so she didn't get unintentionally squished. That was the worst thing about not having skin, really. She could never tell how much pressure she was putting on something, and she hated to take that kind of risk with the life of a creature. If she continued to practicing things like hugging, eventually she would get pretty good at it, she reckoned.
"Ah yes, good morning Italai!" she said. It was definitely a more interesting name than 'Lea', but she didn't pick that one so she didn't say anything about it. "I am also glad," Nina said, following it up with a whirring laugh. It was nice to spend a lot of time with a friend after having so much time off. She wondered how Jack handled all of this stuff when she wasn't around. It always seemed like she was doing something! She must be so busy.
"Ah, there you go sweetie," Nina said as she sat Lea down on the ground. She had been getting rather restless. She didn't think Pachee were violent or territorial or anything, so she was happy to let the two interact with each other a little bit. She did keep an eye on them though, just in case.

Nina seemed surprised, though it was much harder to read the TROD than it was to read a person, but that was part of what was so intriguing about her friend. It was great, and she hoped that Nina was happy with their friendship as well. It had been hard not seeing her friend for an extended period of time, but she knew she had other obligations and wasn't going to try and guilt her into staying for awhile, that would be the worst at this point. Jack pushed her hair back with a smile and let Italai off of his leash, patting him on the head so he could wander over toward Lea.
"Lea has markings like one of my Pachee, do you know if they're related?" Jack asked, kneeling down to smile at the little female before glancing back up at her friend. She wasn't sure, but she thought she was related to Kouska.

Nina wondered if Jack thought they were spending too much time together. She did a lot of wondering about things like that when they were together. She never had a really close friend before, so it she often thought about how things could possibly go wrong. She tried to ease up a bit and do things the way she thought Jack might. Jack always seemed so carefree, and she envied that. Maybe it wasn't even true, but she had convinced herself that it was.
"I have to say I'm not sure, but I would not doubt it." Nina said with a shrug. She knew that Jack had at least a few Pachee, and it would make sense for two with the same markings to have the same lineage. "There is no record of where she came from. I might have to start keeping a ledger." Lea blinked up at Jack a couple of times. Oh good, an organic creature! She was too distracted by Italai to pay too much attention though. She kept peeking at him but then pretending like she wasn't.

"Ah, you know that's not a horrible idea? I used to keep one, but it got too hard to keep track of everything after awhile so I stopped. Maybe it wouldn't be bad to pick one up for myself sometime as well. Genealogy is a really interesting thing!" Jack said happily, moving over to the counter to start filling out paperwork as she looked down at Italai. He was interested in the female and shook his tail a little, just enough to make a few specks of pollen move over into the air near the female. He didn't know what that meant at the moment, but that was fine! It had something to do with her and that's all he wanted to know about at the moment. Jack chuckled at him and rubbed his head a little as she looked down at him fondly.
"It would be fun to track the breeding history of Orbaru as well I'd bet."

"I am very good at record keeping," Nina said. It was the first thing she had ever said that was distinctly positive about herself in a while. "Maybe you could introduce me to all of your Pachee, and I can make notes about them! We could work together, and find out where this little one comes from!" She sounded really excited about the idea. Then she thought about what Jack said about it getting too hard to keep track of. "It sounds like you have many many Pachee! I would love to see all of them, they are really cute, even if they're not quite as cute as Orbaru." If she could wink, she would, but she just hoped her tone conveyed what she meant.
Lea batted at a little pollen puff floating in the air, but next thing she knew, it was gone. What is going on here, anyway? She looked at Nina, at Jack, then at Italai. This was much weirder than her usual day to day life, for sure.

"Oh that would be wonderful if you're sure you want to do that!" Jack exclaimed with a smile, bouncing a little on her heels as she thought of it. It really would be nice to have a record of all of her breedables, even though she had the Preserve now... Oh yeah!
"I bought a Preserve, by the way. I have Lola, Lotine, Pachee, Orbaru, and I want to get a section for Houluh when I can get the credits for it!" the woman told her friend with a happy look, "It's a little like the Zu, I guess? I didn't know if it was going to open again, so I figured I'd fill in the gaps... I hope you're not mad at me...?" She really couldn't bear the thought of Nina being mad at her, they were too good of friends at this point.
Not paying any attention to his human, the Pachee stared at Lea and then sidled up to her a little. She really did look good, right?

Nina thought it was impossible for someone to be more busy than her, but if there was anyone that fit that description it was Jack. Every time they talked, she learned about a new project of Jack's or something else she never even knew about. She really wanted to see Jack's house and kennel and see what kind of pets she had, and how she took care of all of them. She was insanely curious!
"Why would I be mad?" she said with that whirring laugh she did. "The world needs more generous people, good people, like you, to share things with them. I would love to visit your preserve and see the creatures there. I am sure it is the most lovely place in the world." She said this with more passion than she had said anything else thusfar.
Meanwhile, three feet closer to the ground were the Pachee, blissfully unaware of the weird friendship of their owners. Lea enjoyed meeting another Pachee, since she was all alone at home except for Tei which she didn't think counts. She tilted her head at him and her ears were perked up with curiosity. She very carefully reached out and poked him, just to make sure he was real, then yanked her hand back like she never did it in the first place.

Giving a warm smile to her friend, she reached out to touch her arm and give her a genuine look, "Thanks, I didn't want to step on any toes with it. I need to make a Houluh area, and it wouldn't be bad to make a Sarane part while I'm at it, I guess..." Thinking it out loud, she didn't realize just how many animals she had until now. Jack winced a little and then shook her head, unsure of what Nina was thinking, probably that Jack was insane, but oh well, as long as she was with someone, that wouldn't really matter she figured.
Italai looked shocked and backed up for a moment before tilting his head and then shaking it. He didn't know what she was up to, but that was fine he figured as he sidled up to her again, wondering what was going to happen today and all that. Hopefully he would get to do something with her, and it looked like it as well.

Stepping on toes? That was a phrase she was not familiar with. She didn't have any toes, but she did not think that Jack meant that quite literally. It must have something to do with dancing or something. There were a lot of metaphors for dancing. People must like to do it a lot to base so much of their language on it. Nina's mind whirred through many thoughts like that as she was standing there talking with Jack. For some reason, even though they were friends and she was no longer afraid of Jack, she was still anxious around her.
"I thought about what you said," she said after a moment. "I think I might like you to teach me about Houluh some day! I can help you set up their new area, maybe. I am very good at building."
Other Pachee were so interesting! Lea couldn't help but to stare at how Italai looked. He was so weird! Not that she knew any others to compare him to. She wanted to poke him again but that didn't go over well the first time. So instead she just leaned slightly toward him, hoping he'd get the hint and that they could rest on each other for a moment.

Oh, she was interested in Houluh now? Perfect! Jack nearly bounced out of her seat as she nodded eagerly, "Of course, I would love to teach you about Houluh! What all would you like to know? There's a bit to understand about them, but I'm sure you'll learn quickly, you usually do!" She couldn't wait to set up her friend with something, maybe she would want to adopt from the HAA sometime? She knew that Kanellos was from her, but she wasn't willing to give up her pup anytime soon, but she had a feeling Nina might have one somewhere... "I'll take whatever help I can get, honestly. I'd really appreciate it, I could even pay you!" she said as well with a smile.
Italai stared at her for a moment before leaning against her as well and closing his eyes, his tail fluttering behind him for a little bit, as though it wondered when it would be able to get used.
