She must have done something right, since Jack looked really excited about her proposal. If she knew that was going to happen, she might have said it a while ago. "You'll have to start at the top," Nina said. "I haven't seen Kanellos since he was a pup, and I do not know that much about them actually. They look a lot like Vultici, but Vultici are more wild, I think. Do they do a show of some kind? I have seen an advertisement, but I did not stop to read it."
Nina tried to think of all the things she remembered about Houluh, but that was all she could come up with. Her mental catalog of pet species was vast, but there were some gaps in it, especially when it came to species that were newer to the city, or that Silver didn't take to as much. "I am good with animals, I think you could say it is 'in my blood.'" She said that last bit with a joking tone, indicating that she realized she didn't have any blood and that the idiom was funny when she said it.
Lea was still a bit weirded out by this whole thing. She wasn't totally comfortable yet. Why did he keep waving his tail around? She wasn't going to let him pollinate her just like that! She looked at him skeptically, like a person looks at fruit they're not sure they're going to buy yet.

Jack laughed a little at that and smiled at her friend before nodding a little and starting into her spiel. "Well first of all, you have to have a Houluh, of course, and then you have to train it up quite a bit, until they're on par with Sarane, almost. Fifteen of the easier tricks, usually, or some of the tougher moves you won't have to train as many, as long as your Houluh knows at least three things for it's show. The show is how they grow, you take your Houluh to the Houluh Hall in the Contest Hall and sign up first, then you take it into the arena and show off at least three things it knows. After that, the goddess in charge of them will send you a token for them and help them to grow a little more. They're really lovely, you could come see Kanellos and his pup if you want! After that it's a little difficult, there are genetics involved and they only have a certain amount of times they can breed, but they always have three pups. You'll take one, your partner takes one, you have to breed outside of your Kennel, by the way, and then one goes to the HAA." The woman paused and took a breath before laughing a little at the words she had spouted out.
Italai looked offended, he didn't know why his tail was doing that! It didn't make sense, but then again, not a lot did. He looked at her apologetically.

With that explanation, Nina was wondering if she was in a bit over her head with these guys. This seems like one of those things she would become obsessed with, though all the steps involved meant that she probably couldn't do too many at once. "Right," she said with a nod. "They are much more complicated than Orbaru, then!" she let out a whirring laugh. Orbaru were nice and simple, which was one of the reasons she liked to keep them. They had very easy to follow genetics and were generally too dumb to do anything really fascinating.
"I do want to train some creatures of my own, again. I miss it, I think. It is challenging, but a rewarding challenge. I like this idea, if I can find the time, I assume I know someone who will pair up with me?" if she could give a cheesy grin, she would have, but instead she just tilted her head in Jack's direction.
Lea was pretty sure that she liked Italai. She reached out and touched him, gently this time and not a quick poke. She let her paw linger there for a moment, and turned to look him in the eyes. He had such lovely eyes! She would be grinning, if only she could. She and her robot companion had that in common.

Giving a chuckle, Jack nodded, "Of course you do! Like I'd say no to a friend. They are complicated of course, but it seems to be a little easier than Sarane, which is a good thing. If you need any help, let me know!" She smiled at her friend and then looked at the two Pachee before reaching into her bag and grabbed the three berries. Tossing them toward the two Pachee, she smiled again and nodded, they were almost there, she could tell it was going to happen soon, and she was pleased with that, she couldn't imagine what the babies would look like, but that was fine.
Tilting his head a little, Italai leaned forward and attempted to touch his nose to the female's cheek a little bit as her paw lingered on him. He liked her, certainly, and his tail thumped of it's own accord onto the floor a few times.

Ah, right. Sarane. Nina remembered them, and she remembered one that she briefly kept. A brilliant and stubborn gold drake. Sarane were beautiful and dangerous, two things she often quite liked, but she couldn't handle how tough it was in the fighting pit. Eventually she found him a new home and wished him the best. It didn't seem right to keep him out of his naturally born instinct to fight just because it made her uncomfortable. She was more like Silver than she was willing to admit, at times.
"If I have you to show me, I am sure that I will be fine." She nodded. She watched as the berries landed near the Pachee. How did they eat them? Well she was about to find out.
Lea looked at the berry as if its presence offended her. What the heck? Just throwing things at her like that. She huffed a little bit, but did make a move to mash up the berry and use her roots to suck up the nutrients anyway. Hey, there was no passing up free food, right? She was starting to get more calm, so she was ready to accept some pollen, whenever Italai got around to it, that is.

Jack smiled happily and nodded, she was pleased her friend trusted her so much, but she didn't know what else might happen if that trust got twisted. Chewing on her lip a little, she shook her head, that wouldn't happen. Unknown to her, the gold Drake in question in Nina's head was her own Alexei, ancestor of most of her Sarane at this point, and she loved him dearly. "Well certainly let me know whenever you have questions and I'll be happy to help you out," she told Nina with a kind smile.
Italai took one of the berries for himself as his tail thumped against the ground, pollen thwacking into the air and toward the female whenever he moved it a little bit. He absorbed some of the nutrients himself before handing them shyly over to Lea, wondering if she wanted to share with him. That was nice of him, wasn't it?
