Of late, the creature that Rabbit had been charged with caring for had been more restless than she had known him to be. Something had changed--- something had gone amiss, perhaps. But she had not the first guess as to what it might be, and he had not made any move to indicate to her what might be on his mind.
In the end, she could only attempt to divert him, on the off chance that the issue was one of boredom. When she had asked Aster for suggestions, he had given a shrug and said she might try some of the requests at the quest board, though with a sour aside that he wondered whether anyone had use for the services of a smug, hostile half-breed.
Regardless of Aster's misgivings, it was an idea. And if the creature found the idea distasteful, then at least he could make that perfectly clear to Rabbit.

Usually they sojourned to the gym in the mornings together, though at this point it was more a matter of exercise and habit than the real rehabilitation that it had been in the beginning. Sometimes they worked on more serious exercises to improve his speed and endurance, meant to enhance rather than recover what he had once had, but at the moment they weren't undertaking anything so strenuous. Thus, when Rabbit visited the creature's barn that morning, she said, "Would you like to go somewhere else today?"
The creature had noted her appearance without much fanfare, seeming to be deep in thought, but at her words he looked up at her with something more like his full attention. It had become such a routine, she supposed, that he had not expected her to deviate from it.
At least she had his interest. That was the point of this exercise, and thus far it had found success.

"There is a place where the populace posts requests," Rabbit explained. "One can undertake a task in exchange for a reward upon one's success. It may be diverting to attempt it once."
The creature looked at her as though she had said something odd, inclining his head slightly, blue eyes wide. But it wasn't a refusal, and as Rabbit waited, the creature mulled it over, and at length seemed to acquiesce, flicking the tips of his wings in a gesture more or less like a shrug.
"Very well," she said.
A walk into the city proper eventually brought them to the board in question. Rabbit had not been aware of any preconceived notions that she herself had held towards the establishment and its appearance, but upon seeing it, she found that it was nevertheless not what she had expected. It was a board, to be sure, but Aster's description seemed to suggest something with less glitter involved.

Or rather, she felt that he would have included it in his description if that were the case. Even if it was not always decorated the same way, the fact that it was decorated at all should have been more noteworthy, surely.
Before she had any chance to inspect the postings on the board itself, she was hailed down by one of the two people standing in front of it. Rabbit listened as they explained the situation, refraining from speaking until they were finished. Behind her, the creature was listening as well, though what he made of it, she couldn't tell.
She had not come here with any particular purpose in mind, but having been tasked with something like this in person, she supposed there was no harm in carrying it out. Or perhaps the issue was more that she was unsure as to how to refuse. As to whether the creature felt the same way, however...

She led him a short distance away, then turned to face him. "If you do not care to assist with this task, I will carry it out myself," she said. She was working with him, but he was not to her what Aster's creatures were to him; her obligations were not the creature's. Perhaps they should have been, but Rabbit had received no directive to that effect, and the task of attempting to truly command a creature of comparable intelligence was rather beyond Rabbit's own knowledge and capabilities. As it was, Aster seemed to be content with the equilibrium they had established, and so far as the creature did not actively cause harm, neither did Aster interfere. It was not what he had hoped, but perhaps subduing the creature's will was also beyond Aster's means.
On this occasion, the creature did not seem bothered over Rabbit's words. He inclined his head once more, but this time in a motion that bore some resemblance to a nod.

Rabbit took this to mean that he understood. Extrapolating from that, since he did not immediately depart, she supposed he would make his own decisions as the situation played itself out.
He was there for the briefing, such as it was, so he knew the task as well as she did: wait around one of two designated areas and see if they could catch someone in the act of what seemed to be pranks.
Rabbit did wonder why it was such an issue. Was there something wrong with the candy? But then, there were many things she did not truly understand about humanoids, or about organic creatures in general, and many of those things were not worth questioning. This must have been one of those things.
The Quest Shop was closer to the board, so that was where they went first. At a glance, Rabbit didn't sense anyone that she would have termed suspicious, though perhaps she simply didn't know what to look for.

If that was the case, then she might have been a poor candidate for this task, but if that was the case, then they could always find someone else better suited to take care of it. And it did offer a change of pace from the routine that she had settled into with the creature.
He seemed content enough to follow her for the moment, and even to peruse the crowd, though she could confirm at a glance that he wasn't taking the task very seriously. His expressions were not the same as a humanoid's, but he had them, and she had learned enough of them over the course of their time together that she could see the amusement showing on his features. He made no attempt to disguise it, and when he caught her looking in his direction, he made a short huff to drive home the point: he thought of this as little more than a lark.

You have rolled a Success! Your QP will be added to the bank, and your prizes will be sent to you shortly. You may continue roleplaying if you wish (take the following info into consideration when continuing roleplaying ;3).
------------------
After all that hard work (including whatever you did afterward) you are given your first glimpse of whoever has been leaving those horrendous notes...
A young boy wearing a sweater and shorts was holding a little box of candies and a card when he was glimpsed sneaking suspiciously close to the building, and then when he was spotted he tried to run away! After running directly into Jolyne, he turns around, looking sheepish. A tongue lashing by Odoshi later, and the boy was trying to defend himself- "I am not trying to uh, trying to be weird or anything!" He finally shouts, the poor thing couldn't be any older than ten. "I just want to open a candy shop! We were thinking about Selling Vakrah stuff too, but I knew that we needed to uh, advertise!" He looked really sheepish. "I thought y'all would be okay with it, but I was too embarrassed to ask!" He hangs his head in shame.
Who knew that the Vakrah Incident was a misunderstanding all along? The tiny entrepreneur was let off lightly by the two prickly shop keepers all things considered, and told that he can ask any time he wished (it was better than frustrating everyone at least).
