It was a pleasant day in the Labs, and a new area had opened up that she figured she would try out for a little while. Genie was with her, the little pup leaping and bounding around at her feet. She was a sweetheart, she didn’t step out of line, and even though she hadn’t worked with her any yet, she knew that the Houluh pup loved her. It was going to be alright in the end, she figured with a little smile as the bag full of items was over her shoulder and the fishing pole and net over the other, she would find a few things and that was all she needed to do at this point. It was great, and the woman wished she had some idea of what she was going to do at the moment. They’d find a few things and then go train, of course, but she wasn’t sure what else to do as well.

Everything would be fine, they’d catch a few fish, maybe find a shell or two, and then move on with their day. She had an idea of what she wanted to train the little pup, and she smiled a little, it would be different than what she had trained any other Houluh as of yet. Of course eventually Luna and Red would learn everything on the list in her house, but for now she was settling down and trying to get her Houluh all shown and grown up so she could breed them eventually. Jack pushed her hair back as she glanced down at the little blue pup, hoping Genie would enjoy this outing ever since it had been announced. It wouldn’t hurt at least, right? Whatever happened, she knew they would be fine together, that was the whole point of everything she thought with a little smile on her face.

Jack whistled a little to herself as Genie trotted alongside her on the leash, Jack didn’t trust her yet to let her loose, so this was the easiest way to do things no matter what happened before she was trained up. It was great, she had an idea, she was outside on a lovely day, and she had a new pup at her side. Well, not quite new to her, but at least new to work with she figured. Pushing her hair back, she hoped that things would be alright when they hit the river, and she half slid down the bank and to the edge of the river, where the sand hit the water. Breathing in deeply, she leaned on her net for a moment as Genie sniffed at the shoreline, and she smiled, at peace for a little while. It had been awhile since she had been at the water, it was going to be great.

Genie was happy to be out with her human, she knew it was rare to do this kind of thing, though the Houluh had gotten more attention lately than before. Some of them knew why, or thought they knew why, she had gotten so many of them, she had wanted to do things long before now, but something had happened and she was paying closer attention now. A few had come home with pups as well, so that probably had to do with some of it she figured, but Jack was an enigma sometimes, she figured and all that. Whatever happened, she was just happy to be out and about finally, it was getting boring in the Kennel. It wasn’t that she didn’t take care of them, but it meant that she wanted to see things outside as well, so Genie was pretty happy at this point. That was great, and Jack was happy at the same time.

All she could do was hope they could catch some fish, Jack figured as she settled her bag and the net into a little crevasse on some big rocks near the river. She sat on top of the rocks and smiled down at Genie who was pawing around in the sand, digging a little bit to try and see what she could find. The woman breathed in deeply again and cast her line, wondering what she could pull up first and all that. It was going to be fine she knew, she had fished many, many times before, and all she could do was hope that things would go well for her still. Hopefully her luck would stick with her, she figured with a little smile, wondering what they would find first. Maybe Genie would come up with a shell or a plant, maybe a little bug in the sand. It would be fine, and the woman made it into a little race in her own head to see what could be found first, and who would find it first.

The low waves were calm and collected, just brushing up to the shore as she worked with things on the fishing pole. She smiled a little and leaned against the back of the rock, it was set up a little like a chair at that, which suited her just fine, and she closed her eyes for a moment as she let the fishing pole do the work for her. Not like she was going to sit like that for long, but it was peaceful and that’s what she needed at the same time. Genie was still digging, getting a little dirty in the process, but that was fine at the same time, she didn’t know what was going to happen with things, she didn’t know why they were there, but the woman seemed to be enjoying herself and that was really what mattered in the long run. Jack was at peace for once in a long time, she wasn’t sure what to expect from things and that was how she liked it. As long as Genie didn’t wander too far, but she had tied the leash to a spike on the rock to keep her close just in case.

Jack was just happy to be out and about without a real goal in mind, just to have fun for now she figured. She smiled a little and looked over at Genie, wondering what to do right now as she dug around in the sand. The pup finally settled into one of the holes she had dug and rested her head outside of the hole and looked around at the water a little. Things were calm, and part of her wasn’t sure she really wanted calm at the moment, but that was fine at the same time. She smiled her little puppy smile and then closed her eyes, wondering what would happen if she fell asleep for now, though it wasn’t a part of the woman’s troubles she thought. The woman glanced over at her and smiled as she saw her eyes close, and she hoped that things would work out in the long run for them right now.

The fish were starting to nibble a little, and the woman sat up to see what she could do, if something would bite, which she hoped it would at this point. Was everything alright, in the end? She smiled and reached down to pat Genie on the head as the pup slept for a little while. It was hard being a puppy, she knew, and the woman chuckled a little bit as she thought about it. It must be nice to be that little again, without any obligations and responsibilities, but for the moment she knew that it was impossible to do right now. All she had to do was look into magic for a little while longer, and maybe then she would find some kind of success. Jack laughed at herself softly as she watched the fish nibble a little around the lure and bait, wondering if she should get new bait on her hook yet or not.

Nothing had taken the bait yet though, she realized when she reeled in the line and looked it over. There was still a worm on there and she hoped that things would still work out in time. With Genie still sleeping next to the rock she was sitting on, the woman cast the line into the water again and waited for awhile in peace. No one else was fishing right now, which was great, the silence was deafening, and she smiled a little at the same time before starting to hum a little to break the silence. All would be alright, she was having fun and that’s what mattered, that and working with Genie a little, though it would be a bit before she was trained, she knew right now, giving a little chuckle. It was fine, no matter what happened, she was going to be alright. All would be alright no matter what.

As she listened down the river to where the Docks were, she smiled a little as she heard some loud splashing way far away. At least someone was out doing some training it seemed, something she should really be doing, but she needed a day off from time to time she knew. Jack smiled a little and wished that she could just get this done and be over with it, but that was alright no matter what. Genie was being good and napping, the silence was lovely even though she was humming, and the fish were starting to nibble at her line, she could feel it tugging slightly every now and then. Be one with the pole and you would get something good no matter what, she knew, and wished that she knew what she could possibly find in the river. Maybe it was the same as what could be found in the Canyon’s part of the river, but she really didn’t know right now.

Even though it was really calm, she was starting to wonder if it was too calm or something. Maybe the fish wouldn’t bite, but she had fish food if she needed to sprinkle it over the water at this point. Genie was still asleep, and the woman leaned forward and reeled her line back in with a bit of a smile. She didn’t know what to think of it whenever she saw something flopping on the end of the line, but it jumped off, much to her irritation. Ah well, that was fine at the same time, she figured, it looked pretty small, though pretty, and she hoped that everything was going to be great no matter what. Jack pushed her hair back and then cast her line again, hoping she would find something this time, it would be fantastic if she did. Hopefully Genie would wake up soon as well in order to find something too.

Speaking of, the pup started to stir a little in her hole she had dug, and the woman smiled down at her a little as she wondered what to do at the moment. She reached down and ruffled the pup’s ears a little, and then focused on the pole in her hands again. Nothing was really biting too well, she might think about finding a new spot if these rocks hadn’t been there, she thought. They were actually decently comfortable for being rocks, she figured with a little smile on her face as she wiggled a little to get a little more comfortable. She didn’t know what to do about things at the moment, if things were happy enough though she wondered when she would get a bite. It was going to be great, and as she patted Genie’s head, she thought, and she imagined what she might be able to find right now.

Genie’s eyes opened for a moment before they closed again and she stretched out. She didn’t know what to do at the moment, but it felt pretty good to lay there in the cool sand. It felt really good and she didn’t want to move until she saw the woman cast the line again after reeling it in. Genie scrambled to her paws and stood there with her tongue hanging out of her mouth and then beamed up at the woman. She started to charge after the hook, but got caught up on the leash a little bit. Jack gave a sympathetic noise, but knew she shouldn’t unhook her just yet, there wasn’t much trust built up enough for her to be comfortable with that. Sighing, the woman cast again and again, hoping something would pop up but unsure if something was going to go happen anytime soon. At least an hour had passed she knew, and she hoped that the rest of the time they were there would be a little more intense.

There was a good chance she was going to catch things she could catch in the Canyon, she just didn’t want to go there at the moment, she wanted to play with her Houluh and not worry about a Draconic. Plus it was a ways away to get to the Canyon and she knew it was going to be bothersome to get there at this point. Sighing a little, the woman shook her head and didn’t know what to do for things just yet, and she smiled a little, forcing it out of her as she watched the bobber play a little in the water. All would be alright and all that, but she didn’t know what was going to happen as of yet. Whatever happened, she had to figure out what she was going to do with things, and the woman smiled a little as she thought about it. Things were going to be fine, and she glanced over at Genie who was sitting at the end of the leash, staring out into the water as well.
