Still not sure if she should let her off of her leash yet, Jack reached forward and patted the pup’s head, wondering when she would be able to do that. It was going to be too much of a shame to deal with things as of yet, but she also knew that she was going to be fine as long as time happened the way it was supposed to. Jack pushed her hair back and sighed a little, watching the bobber still, wondering what was going to bite first. She wished she had more time, that it wasn’t going to get late, but it was creeping closer and closer to noon, which meant the two of them would have to eat soon. The woman stretched out her shoulders and leaned back on the rock again, closing her eyes once more and thinking about what they might catch. Hopefully Genie would start digging again soon, maybe that was something she could train her?

Genie stretched out a little along the bank of the river and then woofed in a low key. She didn't know what to do, so she sniffed around one of the little pools by the river and came up with something down there. She didn't know what it was, but that was alright, maybe the woman would know once she got a look at it? Only she had to dig it up first, so she started to work on that while the woman fished a little bit more. Jack was starting to get a little disheartened, she figured, and that was all that there was to do. While she didn't think she was going to go home empty handed, it also didn't mean she was going to be the one to find things. Maybe Genie would find everything that she fished for today, and that would be fine as well, Jack wouldn't hold a grudge.

Jack was sure Genie had already found something, given that she was digging pretty hard in one spot where there was a pool. She smiled a little and leaned against the rock again that she was sitting on, and hoped that things would work out in the long run. While she wouldn't hold a grudge, she was really hoping that she could find something as well, and that Genie would give up her find to the woman at this point. Giving a little sigh, she closed her eyes for a little bit until there was a slight tug on the line. Jack's eyes opened and she tried to set the hook in the fish's cheek, but it got away before she could really do anything about it. At least the bait was still there, that was something at least, she figured with another sigh. Ah well, it didn't really matter, all would be well.

With whatever she'd found, Genie seemed pretty happy about things. Now if she could just get her to not chew on it, that would be great! Jack grinned a little and jammed the end of her fishing pole into the rocks as sturdily as she could, and then pushed her hair back to go chase after the Houluh. Genie was pleased with her find so far, and she knew that good things would come of it, but she wasn't sure if she was going to let her look it over or not at this point. That was fine, she knew that everything would be alright in the end of it all, but she still didn't know if she wanted to give it up. She growled at the woman for a moment before wagging her tail a little and then dropping the item and barking. Jack quickly snatched it up to see what it was.

Jack looked the thing over, it was a shell, a smooth one and little at that. She wasn't sure what to expect from things, but this wasn't exactly it. Still though, a shell was a shell, and she knew that things would be fine in the end of it all, and she put it into her bag as she patted Genie on the head. While she wasn't sure what to expect from things, that was fine too, and she knew she had to figure out what to do with everything as she fished. The little pup sulked for a moment before starting to dig again, sure that there was something else to find for now. Jack pushed her hair back and pulled the fishing pole out of the wedged area it was in and started to fish again. She had a pail of water next to her for if she found some fish or something, but that was fine.

At least they both had something to do, and Jack was seriously considering training her while they were there as well. Not right now though, right now she just wanted to relax and do what she needed to do for both of them, she figured with a little smile on her face. Now if only they could find some fish, they would be doing alright she figured. Running her fingers through her hair, she hoped that things would be alright in the long run, though it wasn't necessarily a given at this point. There was so much that could go wrong in her life, she knew, and the woman sighed a little as time went on. Genie was having fun digging at least, that's what really mattered she thought as she tossed the line into the water again with a little smile on her face. She may not have found anything, but the pup had!

Surely things would change eventually she figured with a little sigh as she looked over at the Houluh. Genie was lovely, and the woman was sure she would grow to be even lovelier than she already was, but what would happen to her pups? Surely the blueness of the Houluh wouldn't pass down, would it? It would be interesting to see, to be sure, and she already had a breeding partner set up with them at this point, which was definitely a good thing she decided with a smile. Jack pushed her hair back and looked at her fishing rod, wondering what she was going to do if things didn't work out between her and Genie. There would be training in the future, of course, but the woman wasn't sure what she was going to train her yet. There were thoughts, oh yes, but nothing concrete, not yet at least.

Genie was still pretty happy with things, she figured as she sniffed around the area. She wouldn't run off, but she was still on the leash, maybe the woman would let her off soon or something, it wasn't like she wouldn't listen to her at this point. Jack smiled down at her and rubbed her ring, wondering if she should talk to the Houluh a little. Sure, it made sense and all that, but they weren't the smartest of animals, sure they could learn a lot of tricks and such, but what else? Chewing on her lip, she cast the line again and then eyed the little Houluh, wondering if it would work or something, hopefully it would, it did with Sarane and everything. Genie was saying she wouldn't run off if the leash was taken off, but Jack wasn't sure just yet. Part of her was cynical about anything anyone said.

Everything would be alright at this point, Genie figured as she started digging in a little pool again. There was something there! And it was bright, she thought with a canine grin on her face. Jack glanced over at her as she started to bark excitedly, and she wondered what was going on now. Genie pulled something out of the pool and trotted over to her, spitting out a starfish at her feet. It was a reddish pink and looked rather disgruntled at being out of the water, if it's movements meant anything. Chuckling a little, the woman picked it up and tossed it into the bucket before throwing a treat toward the Houluh. Genie snapped it up gratefully and beamed at her, wondering what was going to happen if she found anything more interesting in the little pools. She doubted she would, but hey, it made sense that she might at this point.

Jack glanced over at Genie as she cast her line back into the water again, grinning a little as she did so. Something had to bite soon she figured, but she didn't know what was going to happen. Ah well, if nothing bit the line, then at least she would have something to do with things, she wasn't just sitting there not doing anything or something, which was always a good thing. Leaning against the rock, she watched Genie for a little while, she was digging at another pool, and she looked at the leash as well, debating something, like letting her go off of the leash. Whatever, it didn't matter at this point, she would figure things out no matter what, and the woman smiled a little as she thought about it. At least they had found a shell and a starfish at this point, she figured with a little chuckle, and the woman wondered what else to do.

All she knew was that things would work out between them no matter what. Giving her a smile, Jack called the pup over and then unsnapped the leash. Genie tore off down the river bank and then trotted back when she almost got without viewing range of the woman. Jack chuckled a little and cast the line again, sure that things would work out between them no matter what. She leaned down and patted the pup on her head before the Houluh went away to start digging through the pools again. She wasn't sure what they would find, but that was fine at the same time they both figured. At least things were working out well no matter what, and Jack was sure they would find several more fish on their way to... well... whatever it was her goal was. It was really working with the Houluh a little, she figured, and that worked no matter what.

It was going to be great she knew, they would find some things and all would be well, she just wished they would find something a little more than... well... this. It didn't make much sense she figured, but at the same time it would be alright in the long run. Jack pushed a hand through her hair and she hoped that everything would be well and all that, but she didn't know where she would go after this. Maybe training Genie would take precedence before anything else, and that was fine, she just had to work with her more when it was all said and done. She just knew she needed to get to work and get her socialized before they trained, and she really needed to work on that and all that, before anything else would happen right now. Giving a little sigh, she shrugged and shook her head, but she didn't know what to do.
