Whatever the case, she fingered the ring a little again and then sighed and turned back to the water, keeping the corner of her eye on Genie. She didn't know what she was going to do, if she was actually going to use her ring or not, but even if she didn't, at least she had the option for it, she supposed. Jack pushed her hair back with a little sigh, unsure of what she was going to do for now, but that didn't matter. As long as she got Genie socialized, that was all that mattered she figured. All that mattered was that they were getting used to each other, she figured with a little smile. She needed to fish something up though, and what it was, was that she didn't know what else to do right now. It was a nice day out at least, and Genie was working on another pool yet again.

It was alright, she knew that things would work out in the end with herself and her Houluh, all of them. Jack just wanted to know that things would be alright, and she looked at where Genie was digging only to see something purple get pulled out of the little pool. Smiling, she took it from the pup when she trotted over to show her, put it into the bucket, and then tossed her a treat in thanks and to somewhat train her a little bit. Well, it was a starfish again, she already had the pink one, might as well have a purple as well she thought with a chuckle as she tossed her line out again. It was a shame they hadn't found anything much bigger or better, she was surprised all of the finds had been from the pup and not her at this point as well she thought.

Genie was happy with herself she thought as she dug around in the sandbank. She had found a few things so far and the woman seemed pretty happy with things at the moment. Now as long as she kept finding things, she would certainly be happy with life, she thought with a big puppy grin. Jack patted her on the head again and wondered what to do right now. No fish were biting or anything, and she smiled a little at the same time. It wasn't her fault nothing was biting, but it surely felt like it sometimes. Maybe they did need to move down the river a little, maybe around the bend, she just wished she had a chair to take with her, these rocks fit pretty well, she thought. She settled into them a little bit after awhile and looked around, unsure of what to do at the moment.

Everything would be alright in the end, though she was thinking of taking Genie to get trained up after a little while, just get a couple of things out of the way and then she would be alright to get her socialized again. Maybe she needed to work with Luna more as well, she'd heard the first Salonne show was going to open soon, and she wanted to enter her in as many as she could until she got her Marq. It was alright, she knew that things would be fine, but she needed to get some more done if they were going to challenge Nico, she knew. Oh well, if they didn't win the first one, maybe they would win the second one, it was all about the fun anyway, she knew with a chuckle. It was alright she knew, and things would be fine no matter what happened, she just had to have faith in her animals.

Eventually they had to find some fish and not just shells, right? Jack shrugged a little and looked around, wondering where the Houluh had run off to. It looked like she was digging around in one of the pools around the river now, which was great she knew, hopefully they would find something good. Genie was a good little pup, she was eager to please and all that, which definitely helped out the whole process. Giving a smile, the woman stretched out a little and wondered what would be found next, probably nothing of note, but it was still fun to think of the fish she might be getting soon enough. The smile turned to a little laugh as the Houluh pup brought her another shell. Well, at least it wasn't another starfish, she figured as she patted Genie on the head. She was a good pup, Jack just couldn't wait to see what pups she would have.

Jack wasn't sure what else to do for the moment, and so she stood up, stretched out, and grabbed the bucket and her bag. Shouldering the fishing pole after reeling it in, she whistled for the pup, who came running at the command and trotted alongside her as they moved further down the river bend. Sure, she would miss that rock chair, but there were other things out here she knew that she could sit on or something. Smiling and humming to herself as they wandered along the shoreline of the river, she finally found a spot that looked good enough to her. There were a few trees around as well, close enough to each other and the water that she could probably set up a hammock and fish from that, and she grinned a little at the thought. The woman grabbed a blanket out of her bag and started to string it up.

Everything would go better now that they had moved, she was sure of it, and Genie started to sniff around in some of the pools in the area while she strung up the blanket into a hammock. The woman smiled a little and then settled into it and started to fish again, casting the line into the water and watched the bobber bob along the water with the little waves that hit the shore. Sure, it would be fun to fish in the sea again, she figured, but the river was close enough at this point, which was good enough for her. As she pushed a hand through her hair, she hoped that things would work out no matter what, and she knew that even though it seemed pointless to be doing this, hey, she was having a little fun at least, and so was the Houluh pup she knew at this point.

Genie was having fun digging in the little pools and didn't pay the woman much mind at this point. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to be doing, but at the same time that was alright she figured, this was good enough and the woman didn't seem to want her to do anything else. Of course she was getting shells and stuff out of it as well, but she wasn't sure what was going to happen. Why did she want shells so much anyway? Jack whistled softly to herself as she realized that things would be alright at the same time. Grinning, it didn't matter much to the Houluh when she decided to push off from the trees and rock back and forth as she cast her line into the water again. Things would be alright at the same time, and she wondered what she was going to do if she got a bite.

Jack rocked back and forth as the line was in the water and she drifted off for a little bit, only waking up when Genie came over to her, barking happily and saying she found something weird. The woman grunted and pushed out of the hammock with a little smile at the Houluh's excitement, and then saw what she was so confused and happy about. It was a giant slug, a yellow one, and she picked it up and put it into her bucket, praising the little pup and giving her a few treats for doing so well at finding things. She wasn't sure what she needed to do at the moment, but that was fine, she needed to find some good things in the water and all that, wondering what was going to happen. Jack shoved a hand through her hair and then dug a hat out of her bag and plopped it onto her head.

Shells and shells, and shells. The river is pretty low this time of year, huh?

The hat was big and cooled down her head a little as she waited for something to bite. Probably more shells is what would happen, but she didn't really know if that was the case or not. It was the dry season, which meant shells would probably be more prevalent at this point, which was alright to her. Jack chewed on her lip as she watched the bobber of the line and the Houluh out of the corner of her eye. She was digging again at another little shallow pool, and she hoped that things would be alright at the moment. As long as Genie was having fun, she supposed that was all that mattered and stuff like that. Giving herself a little laugh, she shook her head and hoped that things would end up just fine for the two of them, though there was no guarantee that would happen or anything.

Everything would be alright in the end of it, she knew, but getting there was the hardest part. Jack sighed a little and settled back into the hammock and started to swing again as she cast the line. Things would be alright she knew, but, well, did Genie know that? It didn't matter at the same time, and the woman smiled a little as she watched the Houluh dig around and all that. Everything just kind of made sense after awhile though, and as she reeled in her line and cast it again, she wondered what was going to happen if she actually managed to catch a fish. Would she freak out that it had actually happened? Or would she stay calm and collected like she had been trained to do all those years ago? Either way, it was going to be fun, she just had to wait it out and see what was going to happen.

Genie wondered what she would be able to find next, and also wondered why the woman hadn't managed to find anything yet. It was odd, but there wasn't much she could do about that right now. Jack raised an eyebrow and shook her head as the pup wandered around talking to herself, wondering why certain things did or did not happen. It wasn't like either of them could really do much right now, but that was fine, Genie would keep hunting for shells and the like, and everything would work out. She barked happily and trotted over to the woman with another shell in her mouth, one that looked almost identical to one she had found before, but hey, it worked for the woman and all that. With things coming together a bit, Jack had a feeling they would be able to find a lot more shells and all that no matter what.

With the shells starting to pile up, Jack wondered if they needed to run home and dump stuff off before heading back to the river. This area already wasn't doing as much as the other place was right now, but that was fine, they would eventually find something and all that, they just had to keep going. She wasn't going to find anything big, she knew that, they were making far too much noise for anything big to be able to deal with it, but until that happened, she hoped to find just a few little things and all that. Grinning a little bit, she reached down and scratched one of Genie's ears, hoping beyond hope that everything would be alright at the end of it all. Maybe she just needed to focus on what was ahead of her instead of absolutely everything in the vicinity. Shrugging to herself, the woman contented herself to fish.
