It would be alright she knew, if she gave him a Ribbon, he probably wouldn't talk all that much when it came down to it. He would most likely be ever present in her mind though, searching and listening, debating on what to do... Another chill ran down her spine and she glanced over at him for now. Still just bobbing in the water, the Tat-lung watched her, watched through her, she supposed, at least that's how it felt like she knew with a little frown. She would have to get over that, she supposed, if she was going to spend time with him and all that. Either that or it would tear her up. There wasn't much she could do about the whole thing she knew with a little smile though, things would happen if she tried to get it done or not, and it would all be alright.

A Ribbon was out of the question right now she knew with a little frown, and she hoped that it was all going to be fine. Jack shook her head, she could always get a ring for the species, she had several of them, but... that seemed a waste as well, she thought, her eyes glancing at Segue before she cast her line into the water again. Reeling in the line slowly so as to act as if the bait was alive, she watched it through the water for a little while, there wasn't much she could do for herself at the moment. Sure, she wished she was catching some fish and all, but she didn't know what else to do at the moment other than this, she supposed with a little sigh and a nod. Well, it was going to be fine in the long run, she supposed either way.

Jack thought about it a little more, one eye on Segue and the other one her line, and she wondered what else to do right now. It was pretty boring, just fishing with an animal that couldn't necessarily do much she knew. That was the issue with bringing a baby Tat-lung and all that, though she wished there was more she could do for him. Peering a little closer at him, she was surprised to see that he was getting a bit bigger, his body longer, his tail thicker. Was this a hint at what was to come? She supposed he would get a little longer, she didn't think he would be a pudgy Tat-lung like some of them turned out to be, but long and mystical, unknown at this point. However, she had to focus on the task at hand, not at what he might look like when he grew, of course.

As long as she had a companion, however, it would be worth doing all of this she supposed. Sighing, she rubbed the back of her neck and then gave a little smile to Segue, it wasn't his fault he was like this, she figured it was because of her own doing that he was a little less social than some of the others. Whatever she supposed with a chuckle, as long as she got what she wanted out of all of this, it would be fine in the long run. Shaking her head a little, she smiled at him again and waved a bit, and something seemed to snap in him. His eyes narrowed and he looked a little more inquisitive. Something happened, he seemed more friendly, more... real at this point, not just a little doll in a bowl. Jack frowned a little and looked at him, what was that, anyway?

Whatever the case, she figured this was going to be an interesting animal no matter what, especially if he kept switching personalities much like he just seemed to do. It would be alright in the long run, she figured there was nothing really evil or mean about him it would seem, and she smiled a little with a little wave at him as he did small barrel rolls in the bowl. Well this was an interesting update to his mood she thought with a laugh as she watched him, fishing rod still in hand. This was going to be just fine in the long run she knew a little as things were done. Whatever happened, she figured she would be good to him no matter what anyway, it wasn't like she wouldn't do that for any of her animals and all that. They all needed something from her, which definitely worked out.

Jack had much to do with Segue, there were a lot of things he needed to learn and all that. Soon enough he might go to the Pit, but she wasn't sure of that as of yet. Giving a little smile, the woman shook her head and hoped it would all work out no matter what, if she took him to the Pit then it would work in the long run of course, and things would be fine either way. Segue would do well, quick on his feet (she assumed at least) and smarter than most, she knew his mental capacity was quite a bit no matter what happened. Grinning a little, she looked at him and thought of what he could be in the future, it was going to be great, she just hoped his earlier mood wouldn't come back, but it probably would she thought with a little sigh.

Without much to do other than fishing though, she was a little bored when it all came to this. There was only so much she could do with Segue at the moment, being a tiny little fish that didn't do much, though she hoped it was going to work out in the long run, and she chuckled a little as time came to be. Jack had a little bit of time on her hands, that's why she came to the river in the first place with the Tat-lung. Smiling a little, she hoped it was all going to be fine no matter what. Whatever happened, at least he was getting a little bigger, she knew as she thought about it all, it was going to be fine in the long run. He would be big and beautiful, if his colors at the moment had anything to do with it, she figured with a smile.

Jack smiled a little, hoping he would grow up to his full potential soon enough and all that, but she didn't really care much for it in the long run. Smiling a little, the woman glanced at the Tat-lung again, watching the fish was amusing at least, maybe she would indeed let him in the river whenever he grew just a little bigger at this point. It was going to be alright no matter what, but he would be able to work a little more at this point she thought with a little sigh. Jack just thought about it a little and sighed, she wished there was more she could do for him, but there wasn't a lot she could figure out at the moment. He was a strange one she knew, but she was going to take all of this head on and get what she needed before anything was finished.

Oh, there went the bowl! She yelped and ducked as the bowl shattered and the Tat-lung flopped on the shore of the river. Jack spooked and grabbed Segue, tossing him into the river as quickly as she could. The woman stared at him, that had been a bit dramatic, but wasn't sure what to do with him at the moment. She put a hand on the back of her head and sighed a little as she thought about all of it. Well this was irritating, but she didn't know what else to do at the moment for him. Huh, it was going to be alright in the long run, and the woman frowned a little as she looked down at him splashing in the water a little bit happily. Heaving a bit of a sigh, the woman shook her head a little bit as she thought about the whole thing, it didn't really matter she figured.

Jack turned back to the bowl and sighed, or at least, what was left of the bowl. It had shattered when he grew, which was an issue at this point, though she didn't know what else to do at the moment other than this. Well, glass was just... melted sand, right? Heaving another sigh, she started to pick up the bigger pieces of glass, putting them in the cart she had pulled to the river and then shoveled some sand over the smaller pieces with her feet, not wanting to get any glass dug into her hands, which would suck worse than most anything else. Scowling, she wished there were things to do about it alright. Well... it didn't really matter she thought for a little while before turning back to Segue. At least he was having fun, though he hadn't been able to breathe a little while before being in the water.

All she could really do was shrug and laugh a little as she looked at Segue playing in the water for the moment, she made sure to reel in her line for awhile and then sat down next to the boulder. It was going to be alright in the long run she figured with a little sigh, she didn't know what to do right now either way. With him being a little happier in the river and she worried so much about hooking him, which would be horrible in the long run. It didn't really matter she knew, there wasn't anything she could really do for here she knew with a little sigh. Leaning back against the boulder, she wished it was going to be fine no matter what. All she had to do was worry about what she was doing, not really worry about Segue much, just... hope she didn't hook him when she started back up.

She supposed it wasn't the Tat-lung's fault the bowl was broken, she should have brought a bigger tank or something if she wanted him to be in one the whole time. Still, at least he was having a bit of fun, and that was all she could really ask for, she supposed with a little smile. Watching him do flips and barrel rolls in the river, she wished there was something more she could do with him at the moment that would make things more interesting, but of course she couldn't really think of anything. Giving a small shrug, she figured she would just keep fishing, keeping the line in the water was easy enough at least, she thought with a chuckle. All she had to do was keep the hook away from Segue, and she hoped she could do that pretty easily when it all came down to it.

Segue didn't know what was going to happen to him from now on, but he supposed it would be alright in the long run. Sighing, he watched the woman from under the water, watching as she cast the hook and line back into the river with a little smile on her face. Maybe he could help her out or something, he figured with a small nod, a habit most of her animals picked up as they spent time with her and all that. She didn't know what to make of things sometimes, and that was fine she thought as she glanced down at him rooting around in the mud of the river, trying to find something for her she figured. He didn't know what else to do at the moment, and playing was fun for so long at this point she figured with a little smile and a nod. She just hoped they could find something.

He was a cute little puppy, she had to admit. Though they were all pretty cute once you took a look. Jack smiled a little and patted him on his soft little head poking out the bag over her shoulder. It had been a long time since she'd come to the river, and it was good to be back again, even though it was the dry season. Oh well, it would be fine she thought, at least she could get some time in with a Houluh pup and all would be well. Maybe he would grow up soon and she could get a few more Houluh out here, that would certainly be nice, though she wasn't sure what she was going to do with all of them anyway. Giving herself a chuckle as Spot snuffled around in the bag she carried him in, she shouldered the fishing pole and net a little better and kept on walking.
