She had to have at least one bite in this new area she knew, but that was going to take a little time she figured. Maybe someone else was fishing and had cleared out the area before she had seen it? Jack frowned a little and shrugged, if that’s what happened, it’s not like she could do anything about it she knew. Whatever, it didn’t really matter right now, she just wanted to find a fish or two, maybe have Cocoa find something, which would be really nice, and she smiled a little at the thought as she pushed her hair back a little. The woman then shook it out to where it had been once more and smiled a little, she didn’t know why she did that so much, it was a weird quirk of her, it seemed. It would all work out in the end she knew, and her hair didn’t matter in the long run anyway, at least not to her.

Cocoa seemed pretty happy to be with her though, she knew as she looked at him with a smile. He panted a little and didn’t know what was going on at the moment, but that was alright at the end of it all. Jack chewed on her lip a little and shook her head, unsure of what to do for him right now while she was fishing. Maybe it was time to pack up and leave if she wasn’t getting anything, that would be completely on her, but when she looked at the pup, she knew he was bored and wanted to go home, he even told her as much. Hopefully he would forget about going home once they were in the Park, but she never knew until it started. He laid down and put his chin on his paws, wondering when they would get to leave so he could rest some more, that cold water had really gotten to him earlier, it seemed.

Yeah, she was pretty much done, nothing had bitten today and it was really a shame at the moment. Jack sighed a little and shook her head, she didn’t know what was going to happen if she left though, something bit would probably come up while she didn’t have her line out there, but that was alright. There seemed to be a shark out there in the river just beyond where her line could reach, but she was alright with that, she didn’t want that big of a fight. Smiling happily to herself, she reeled in her line and then stretched out before getting the bait off of the hook and tossed it into the water so something could eat it if they wanted to. Maybe she would be able to get to another fish that way if she let them know she would feed them. That was the best way to do it, acclimate them a little bit.

Well then, they would head out and head for the Park, she figured with a little smile on her face. At least she had gotten this much done, and Cocoa was certainly used to her by now. Jack pushed her hair back and slapped a hat on her head to keep the wind from carrying it away before she gathered up all of her items. It was a shame they hadn’t gotten to keep anything from this trip, but that’s what happened, she supposed, whenever things went wrong during a day. Still though, it was a lovely day outside and she knew that was the best part about it at the moment. Smiling and whistling to herself, she went to go untie the leash from the rock so she could lead Cocoa to the Park, wondering what all she was going to teach him still. There were a few things she had in mind, just depended on their time now.

Cocoa happily followed her after she got the leash undone and clipped to her belt so she could carry everything she needed to carry. He didn’t know they weren’t headed home, she hadn’t said anything to him, but he would figure it out soon enough. He had to learn some things if he was going to get this done, she knew, and the woman whistled while they walked away from the river and toward the training area of the Park. It didn’t matter what the weather would end up being like, she wanted to get him trained up and out of the way so she could start working with more Houluh and keep breeding. Not that she thought he was a pest, far from it, but the more she could grow and show, the more she could get, and that’s what she was interested in right now, that and their genetics, she figured with a low chuckle.

The wind whistles past you as you leave. You may not have found anything (even on your way out), but at least you got to spend some quality time with your houluh.
(Nothing happens.)

The Tat-lung had been antigrown, which was good considering she didn’t respect the woman whatsoever. Jack sighed a little and looked down at the fish in the river, wondering if the net she had her in would hold against the current or not. The wet season was almost here, so she wanted to get a little more fishing in before the end of the season, just in case she missed something. The black pearl she had gotten from her last trip was now a prized possession, but it wasn’t like she wouldn’t trade it for something if the right trade came along. Maybe something would come around in Curious Collections soon enough that the Trader would take shells for or something, she believed that was what it was classified as at least. Maybe it was for the best she was messing with a Tat-lung again, it wasn’t like she had anything else to do. That was a lie as well though, she had plenty of stuff to do, she just didn’t want to do it.

Shine didn’t particularly respect her, and that was her own fault for not doing as much with her as she should at this point, but that was fine, she would figure out how to win her over at some point. Maybe she would even teach her name to her, that would work out, stay at the river for awhile and then head downstream to the Docks or something. Jack ran a hand through her hair and smiled at the little fish who looked up at her with confusion in her eyes. At least this was a way to get things done, Jack didn’t really like doing it, but if it was what needed to happen, then that’s what would happen. She chewed on her lip a little and shook her head, unsure of what needed to be done for now, and hoping that things would work out for them in the long run, but it didn’t matter much at the moment at least, and she smiled at the little fish as she swam around in the net.

The current was a little too strong to let her swim freely, plus she didn’t know if she was going to swim off and leave, and the woman couldn’t afford to lose a Tat-lung or anything. She couldn’t wait for her others to hatch though, that was going to be the best at this point. There were four eggs that wiggled from time to time, and the dream, it had been so vivid… There was another persistent dream happening at the same time, and she needed to get rid of it as well. Maybe she would get with Morgan about the dreams at some point, but she just didn’t know how well that would go over. They were Houluh breeding buddies and she figured that would be it at this point. Jack smiled a little, wondering what she was going to do about things, especially about Shine, but for now, she just needed to work on fishing, she thought with a little smile. Shine smiled at her as best as a fish could, but she didn’t know what else to do with her.

Life without animals was hard for her to understand, how did people do it? Also, how did people specialize in certain species anyway? Sure, she was known for the animals people could breed at the Breeding Center, but those were varied and wide at this point. She really wasn’t sure what to expect from things at the moment, but that hadn’t been it. What would she do about things at the moment anyway? Glancing over at Shine, she cast the line into the water and hoped the Tat-lung wouldn’t be able to grab hold of it, that would be the worst. Sighing a little to herself, she leaned against a rock and watched the bobber out in the water as it went up and down with the little waves thanks to the current. It wasn’t like she didn’t have anything else to do, but at the same time she wanted to make sure she had animals who would actually listen to her. Things were going badly, she knew, with some of the others, but for now it was going to be fine.

Jack didn’t know if she was going to get any fish today or what, but as long as Shine got used to her, then everything would be great, she figured with a little smile. Nothing else would work out for her, it didn’t matter what she caught as long as Shine was going to be used to her. The little Tat-lung wasn’t sure what to think of things, but all things would be fine in the end. Jack sighed a little and closed her eyes for a moment, wishing she was with a Houluh instead of a Tat-lung for a little while. Once they got to a certain point she would take her to the Docks and train her up just a little bit, maybe just her name for now and call it good or something. Her eyes opened again and she watched the bobber before reeling it back in and hoping she had caught something. Nothing was going to happen right then and there though, and she cast the line before rebaiting it once more, hoping that everything would work out in the long run.

She really just hoped that Shine would listen to her after awhile, that was going to be the best thing about all of this, she figured. Jack yawned a little and shook her head, a little unsure of how to best go about things for now. She didn’t want to hook the fish on the fishing line or the hook on the end of it, but she needed to fish, so she would just watch the line for now, and as it got closer to the Tat-lung she would reel it in. It helped that the fish was upstream and she was casting downstream, but sometimes odd things would happen with that and she wasn’t sure what to do with it at the moment. Jack pushed her hair back and sighed a little, wasn’t sure what was going to happen at the moment. There was nothing she could do about anything at the moment aside from continuing to fish and talk a little to the Tat-lung, but she was already getting bored, sadly enough.

Everything would go well after a little while, she just needed to figure it all out in the end. Sooner or later the fish would respect her when she was grown, and that’s what she was going for at the moment. Jack chewed on her lip for a little while, wondering what to do for herself and the fish, but fishing was all she wanted to do right now. Part of her wished she had a Houluh with her, but that was a lonely idea as well. Well, at least she could talk to the Houluh thanks to the ring, but for now she wasn’t sure what the Tat-lung could do. Sure, they were beyond her intelligence, beyond sentience, but that didn’t mean she could talk to her at the moment. It would be fine and all that though, eventually everything would work out in the long run, right? It just had to.

Honestly, she didn’t even know what she was going to do with her Tat-lung, even Vesuvius kind of did his own thing at this point. She shrugged a little and sighed, maybe there would be something to do with it in the future, she didn’t really know. All she knew was that it made sense to her and that’s what mattered. She took a look at Shine and hoped that the Tat-lung was getting used to her a little, and the eyes were all she needed to look at, at the moment. Shine liked the woman well enough, there just wasn’t that respect for her at the moment. All would be fine at the moment, but she wasn’t sure what to do with her when she grew, it didn’t help that she’d had her for such a long time and this was the first she was doing anything with her. No wonder there was no respect.

What she needed to do was to bite the bullet, both with Shine and with Devin, her new Alurook. The big owl had been antigrowthed as well back down to a baby so she could work with him a little, and she wondered what it would be like to work with the huge bird. It would certainly be interesting at least, but she wasn’t sure what to expect from things right now. Hopefully the both of them would work with her a little and not make it impossible to get things done, but she wasn’t going to count her chickens before they were hatched or anything. So far Shine was liking her well enough and all that, but she didn’t know what she wanted out of the Tat-lung. They were more companions than anything else, and that made it difficult for her to get an idea of what to do with them, she was more into fighters than anything else.
