She was growing a bit bored of planting trees, but she only had the one left before she could enact a change of scenery. This tree was a maple which Leafy could identify from the beautiful leaves. She had always been partial to maple leaf trees, considering how beautiful they got in the fall. She smiled at the thought, feeling a bit better about herself knowing that she was contributing to future autumn leaf spectacles.
“Maybe we can come back and visit our trees when they’re grown a bit more,” she suggested.
Sif seemed to agree with her idea and Leafy started making plans for how long trees took to grow. She decided that this would be an ideal place to train, already feeling a sense of ownership over the area.
“How about we get this maple planted in reality first.”
She grabbed the shovel, having grown accustomed to using it.

She dug out a perfectly shaped and sized hole for the sapling to grow effectively. She had truly become a sapling planting master. Sif was eager to help this time, having switched between helpful and aloof for the whole expedition. She liked when he was helpful, even if he didn’t actually contribute much to her efforts.
“There, that should do it!” She stepped back to judge her work, deciding that she was pleased with the placement of the sapling after a bit. “Now shall we get more saplings? We probably should if we want to put a real effort into this quest.”
She would end up taking a short break before grabbing more saplings, but she was eager to continue with the gardening. She sat on the damp grass, not even minding as the frost soaked into her pants.
“Where do you want to plant trees next? We could always come back here too.”

She remembered that she had some wildflower seeds in her pocket as well. She felt a sudden urge to plant them.
“These should be a bit easier to deal with. Wildflowers grow in a lot of different places and I think the park would be an ideal environment for them!”
Sif picked up on her excitement, suddenly filled with energy as well. She had a few packets with her, all shaped into stars through the power of paper folding. For a moment, Leafy was envious of the talent it had taken to fold them in such a manner.
“I should add learning origami to the to-do list,” she muttered.
Sif followed closely his eyes narrowed as he searched for the place he wanted Leafy to start spreading the flower seeds. He then pushed past her, leading her towards an open area with a variety of grasses.
“Okay, let’s start here then.”

She ripped open one of the packets, feeling a bit guilty at destroying the handiwork that she had been admiring a few moments before. Sif eagerly nudged her, urging her to stop thinking and start planting. Leafy felt a bit better thanks to the concern of her pet.
“Alright here it goes! We don’t need to do much in this case, nature will make sure the flowers are able to grow!”
She tilted the package so that the seeds poured out onto the grass. She aimed for the areas that looked sparse and where the seeds could reach the soil with little blocking them. She enjoyed choosing areas to spread the flowers, feeling a sense of accomplishment as she thought of how the area would look during late spring and summer.
“If we do this correctly, there should be flowers everywhere! Then we can come back and have a great training session!”

When she was finished with the first package of wildflowers, she was quick to open the next.
“We’ll cover this entire area with flowers! Maybe after that, we can hit up the entirety of the labs!” The thought made her feel giddy, as though she alone had the power to make the wildflowers grow. “They’ll take over everything! And it will all be thanks to us!”
Sif bounced in place, glad that Leafy was feeling so excited. He stuck close as she began to pour more seeds out onto the ground. He avoided the area that she was pouring the wildflowers onto, but remained close enough to her to give the illusion that he was helping.
“We’re doing a really good job! These flowers should grow in no time!”
She felt accomplished, imagining how beautiful the flowers would look once they took over the field. Maybe other people would appreciate them as well.
