- Morgan had managed to get an acquisition by proxy recently. Perhaps she wasn't something that Morgan would normally spend a lot of time working with, but something about the sleek, classy looking galabex doe made Morgan decide that she would perhaps be the prettiest possible day mount... And with Waar looking the way he did (though he'd make the best 'night mount' ever) she'd be an excellent day mount choice to keep folks from telling the difference. However, there was one thing that was in the way- she was strong willed, and really hated the lead that Morgan was using. "I should'a just brought Nico this month, you absolute cow." Morgan complained, trying their best to convince her to come with them. The creature shook her head, but finally Morgan was about there, to the Questing Board.
Lilane was going to be a lot of trouble to work with, but she was going to be worth it, Morgan was sure. Still, the Quest board was five feet too far away to be able to read the slips on it, and Lilane was being very obstinate.

Perhaps, if Lilane had not been of normal intelligence, it would have been a bad idea to call her a cow. She obviously didn't know the word, but by goodness she must have known the tone. If it was even possible to have done so, Lilane absolutely got worse, refusing to move with her legs very stiff. She leaned in the other direction than what Morgan was pulling in with her full weight. If Morgan was any other person, or a little stronger, or perhaps even having weighed a little more, poor Lilane would be no match. But as she was with her ride-able size, and with Morgan being very small theirself (almost small enough to ride a celerity gallor) they were not able to get her dislodged from her obstinate position once she locked up yet again. After a good bit of push and shove, Morgan managed to get over to the questing board with a sigh of relief.

It would seem that the questing board had lots of little slips of paper on it this go around, which was a really good change of pace. Recently there were a lot of issues where the stupid cork board was covered in absolutely ridiculous decorations. What were some of them that Morgan remembered? Last month's was some sort of horrific valentines day monster, and then there was another before then, what was it... Morgan couldn't exactly remember, however they did remember that there was one before then that was pretty bad too. This month it was actually relaxing to be able to look at all of those possible quests that they could accept. They reached out for one, trying to make sure that Lilane didn't pull too many shenanigans in the meantime at the same time, to see if there were any that they could take this month without having too much to do.

As Morgan looked through the different little quests that were being offered on the tiny sliplets on the cork quest board they couldn't help but split their mind along three different frames (as had become easy for them since the swallowing of the chaos node; one of the few good things that had come from this particular brand of hell). The first of these frames was of course the steady attention that they gave Lilane, the galabex. This was because Morgan was very sure that she would attempt at the first possible moment to run away if she somehow had the chance to. Thus she required at least a third of Morgan's attention as they stood there attempting to read. The next thing that Morgan was thinking about was indeed that same reading, which of course took quite a bit of mindpower to continue focusing upon in order to retain the information upon the slips.

The third thing that Morgan's mind decided to split upon in order to consider was the memories that they had from when they had first started the process of going out and collecting questing slips. They had first considered that said quests may be useful in order to test their prototype-prototype weapons, but it had soon become something more than that, with Morgan using the quests to calm their stressed and angry mind after the chaotic magic was assimilated into their body through the unfortunate occurrence of swallowing it. The creation of it had been stressful enough, but they were quite surprised that even the swallowing of such a thing had been so distressful. However, the questing had done it's job of keeping them from being super over-excited by the chaotic energy.
It was at the moment that Morgan collected a particularly interesting slip that Lilane jerked hard enough to pull Morgan off of their balance.

The jerk was so violent and random that Morgan fell down onto the ground, still holding the little questing slip (and it pulled it off of the questing board due to that, something which Morgan had been attempting to avoid doing since they hated having to put them back up on the board and cause more holes in them, which bothered them for some reason but not enough to totally freak out about it) as they did. The human tried to scramble up, but was immediately pulled off of their feet as soon as they managed it. They would have beat the creature to it, but the animal actually... Leapt off of the ground? And floated there for a second? Just wait? That wasn't normal! The creature did not seem to notice that she was able to do this, since she returned to the ground quickly, but it wasn't quick enough to be natural at all.

That caught Morgan's attention relatively quickly, even though it was a very short second, small thing to notice. "L-Lilane? You can uh, fly or somethin'?" Morgan said, probably dumbly if anyone was around to hear it (thankfully, not that Morgan could tell) and then they noticed that they pulled the sheet of paper down from the questing board in the process of collecting theirself from the ground feeling pretty stupid. They probably should have asked 'what she could do' before having her bought, but hey, this could work... As long as she didn't figure out how to fly and drag Morgan along with her. That would suck... For now it seemed like she didn't quite know that she could do it. Morgan put a fist on their hip for a moment and squinted at the doe. "Now lookit what you've done." Morgan accused. "Now I've got to do this one..."

Morgan did not even know what 'this one' even was, so they wrapped the lead around their hand (apparently having learned nothing form that) and then proceeded to read it carefully. It had a single picture on it and appeared to be more of a flyer than the usual scribbled-upon slip of paper and that was either a good thing in that the quest was a little higher brow, or it could be a bad thing and mostly be a dumb advertisement. Morgan wasn't sure which they preferred this month, but they absolutely hated making extra holes on these things (it bothered them quite badly) so they kept it anyway. Apparently the picture was supposed to be a stylized tree, Morgan noted after resisting a jerk from the very headstrong doe, because it was saying something about tree planting or something like that. It wasn't something Morgan was super interested in, but ah well.

"Welp Lilane. Y-you're stuck with me now. Now w-we've gotta go plant trees." Morgan wasn't particularly into the whole planting trees for no reason, but hey, quest points right? Morgan didn't really do a whole lot of caring about those either but that was beyond the point. "Now... Come... On..." Morgan said, trying to drag the doe away. She was much, much too strong for them though to be able to get her to come without her own free will. Well this was going to be difficult in fact. Instead of continuing to attempt this, Morgan just read the address of where to go to do the whole 'plant some trees, win a prize thing', and then pulled another treat out of their pocket. "Come on, Lilane..." Morgan said, speaking in a sing-songy tone in an attempt to sweeten the doe galabex to come with them.

While Morgan's voice did nothing of the sort, the treat on the other hand was much more interesting. Whereas a normal Galabex would most likely have absolutely refused to come with Morgan even with the treat without extra coercion due to the fact that galabex tended to be shy and reclusive creatures, this absolute brick of a galabex was beyond confident, and nearly snatched the treat (and possibly Morgan's hand had she been a vulticus or something) away. Morgan jerked their hand back out of instinct, and the poor creature was quite thoroughly miffed at this. "Come on, Lilane. Can't b-bite the hand that feeds ya." Morgan said to her, backing up better now so that the galabex had to come in order to get the treat. This was going to suck, but hopefully by the end of today the creature would begin to act better with Morgan... It was going to be a long day.

Morgan continued to struggle with Lilane along the way, though thankfully with a little less stress than what they had been dealing with just before. Perhaps it was the psycho-social bond beginning to form slowly and slightly, like tendrils of mercury. Or perhaps it was just that she found out that Morgan had food, which was certainly desirable. Morgan made sure to make her work for the treats, and by work it was mostly meant that Morgan just hoped to everything that would listen out there (though they knew there wasn't really anything or anyone to listen) that she would not cause more trouble than what was needed to be at this stage of their master-future mount relationship. They made their way slowly but surely to the area where Morgan would be (sigh) helping to plant trees. Morgan very much disliked getting completely dirty in public, but they figured that it couldn't be helped.

The rows and rows of saplings belied the fact that they had finally gotten to where they were going to Morgan. A sigh of relief finally left them, if only because this would be over soon and boy were they already ready for it to be over. They hadn't even started yet! Morgan figured that they would have all of the tools needed there already, if only because it was their idea, and not their own, and thankfully they were right. The human lead the somewhat less of a pain in the butt Lilane into the starting area, where Morgan signed in all of the paperwork and received a little arm band for their trouble that apparently allowed them to even be there. Great, cool. They needed to get this done, anyway. Morgan continued on to where the shovels were, sighed, and picked up one of the hand shovels instead of one of the bigger ones.

The human knew that they were going to be spending quite a bit of time just getting ready to start the planting. Logic would dictate that folks would bring the diggers the trees, but it didn't seem like anyone was doing anything of the sort. In fact, the entire situation seemed really gung-ho and very unorganized, and Morgan frowned at that. Of course it was. Great, now it would take a lot longer to do all of this stuff that they had to just keep going on about. Morgan shot Lilane a 'look', something like they normally would have done with Nico to convey a whole wealth of information, but was completely lost on the greyscale doe galabex. The creature instead shot Morgan BACK a look, and it was a threatening look that said 'don't you dare' and 'you better give me a treat' more than anything else it could have conveyed.

Morgan was not allowed to get theirself bullied by a doe galabex of all things (not necessarily because it was a doe, but more because it was a herbivore- Morgan did NOT work with many herbivores even remotely). However, they weren't really wanting to have a bad time today due to the doe any more than they were already going to have a bad time because this situation kind of sucked. The human didn't dare pet the galabex yet, and instead took the shovel and found theirself a spot to claim before tying the doe to the nearest post. The lead had a lot more of a length to it for her to walk around when Morgan wasn't having to wrap it firmly around their hand, so the doe stood there, bending down to sniff at the grass warily.
The human looked to grab a few of the tiny saplings to be planted.

The trees themselves were all of the same type, which made sense. Undoubtedly they'd be back when these trees established themselves to add the next type of tree that needed to be properly established at a certain time to make a little stand of trees that didn't look too man-made and fake. Hopefully it wouldn't be too harmful on the environment out here anyway. However, they had a job to do and they figured they better stop inwardly groaning about it and just get it done regardless of their other feelings on the matter. Morgan gathered a few of these trees, as many as they could hold, and then rushed over to where they had chosen their little spot. Morgan put the little trees in their pots down, nearly losing their glasses in the process but still managing to keep them on their nose and then push them up to where they belonged.
