Was he expected to be taking notes physically on what the snake masked individual was saying? He was rambling on as they walked at Flare’s pace of hobble to the other side of the city. “The speakers won’t accept anyone upon their altar unless you bring an offering, a tithing to appease the gods they speak for. Most humans I’ve heard about brought these crystals and such." The lokiesque creature produced an image of a pair of glowing crystals, along with a pink fist sized rock and a cluster of berries that looked very in season with Faelot. The image faded as soon as it was seen by Flare. {Why bring rocks and a berry to talk to gods?} Flare asked the creature as he tried to keep up. The consistent pace wore on his already tiring body. "I told you, its a tithing. An offering."

Muttering about interrupting drakes, the creature continued to ramble onwards, and even increasing the pace faster. Flare knew from childhood that running on a gimp leg would lead to being facedown on the cobbles or the sandstone. It hurt enough then, it would probably hurt worse now. "-usually accompanies a blood offering. Basically take the things, put them on the altar, and then put blood all over em, and wait." the lokiesque snake creature looked back at the ssashirk, who seemed to be hanging back. "Getting cold feet now?" A few teeth shown on one side of his muzzle as the ssashirk passed him, hissing irritatedly through his teeth. Finally, the reached the temple. The great black pyramidlike monolith structure that allowed humans to talk to gods. When they weren't doing the 'down to earth' thing causing problems and such. Is that a thing here? Nope! The ssashirk stumbles forward as the snakeish being smacks him on the shoulder. "Go get em. You tell Shurai." {Not coming yourself?} 14.20

"Ha! Noooo. No, I don't belong on that altar, or anywhere near it. I might get shot right off by some offended lady god." Was it him, or was the snake creature now paying attention at anything else by the ssashirk himself. "No, humans climb this alone. Some brought pets or familiars or what not. I don't see why though. Eh. you'll be fine. Now go on!" Another slap on the shoulder, and the creature was gone in a rustle of wind from behind. Finally, Flare had been left alone. Which probably would be a bad thing if he wasn't pretty good at squashing his inner thoughts into a very compressed box of emotional turmoil and kicking that into a corner. What people couldn't notice, would keep him from attracting attention. Breathe deep in.... and exhale. He could smell something faint on the wind. A faint twinge came to his misshapen horns as he stepped onto the monolith. 15.20

A few taps were heard inside his bag as the drake began his arduous climb up the stairs. Ugh, stairs. The next bane of the lame, as it tired him out greatly to walk UP stairs. Had to be just as careful going downwards, otherwise he would slip and be arse over teakettle and back at the bottom of this tower with a split melon of a head and nothing to show for this stupid endeavor. But he had a bone to pick with the messenger and would damn well make sure he was heard for it. he'd waited long enough after all. Flare's mind filled with several antagonizing thoughts about the amount of stairs he had to climb. Imagining what he'd have to endure attempting to climb this with regular feet instead of lizard feet he almost was glad for the extra rough traction of the soles of his feet. Just how many stairs were there?! He just kept on climbing@! Until he suddenly stumbled upon the platform at the top. 16.20

It was as the snake thing had said; three robed humanoids sitting in stone thrones before him. Not pleased from what he could see of their body language, of what little he could see of their limbs or faces. Nearly faceless individuals. Before him was the altar, and he couldn't...smell anything here. Like he had left his sense of smell and taste behind as his toes touched the top of the monolith. Running absently through what the snake had told him, Flare approached the altar with his heartrate increasing slowly. This place... pulsed like those dark crystals he had bought. It felt utterly powerful here. Like being in front of something with so much presence it would knock him out if he wasn't careful.
Opening his pouch, the drake took out the crystals. Two green ones, and the round pink stone to place in the center. There was a berry in here too, and it was very important to eat it. He ate the berry, crushing the swollen fruits with his piercing teeth. Juices flowed down his throat as he had eaten it in the back of his throat as much as possible, for this might go very wrong otherwise, as warned.
The green knife materialized, almost waiting. Picking it up, feeling his heart pounding against his ribcage, Flare raised his limbs over the rocks. The motion is swift, and blood splatters the rocks. The blade vanishes again, and the drake waits there, bleeding over the rocks. He didn't know how much to leave. But his pounding heart isn't helping matters calm either.
{Shurai...answer me. WHY DID YOU DO THIS!} he hissed in his own language. Red and black swirled in his vision... and everything went black. 17.20
