Renathan had not started out his day expecting to be going Pachee breeding. The last time he had bred pachee was months ago, when he had bred Kopi. Now he was holding her in his arms on the way to the breeding center from where he picked her up at his gardens. He'd did the spell as soon as he'd gotten the news that someone took him up on his offer (he hadn't expected it to be accepted so soon but was pleased about it!). Luckily for him, he made it to the breeding center with very few incidents along the way (hopefully spring would swing up in full soon though) and little Kopi a tad wet but otherwise fine. When Renathan got into the door, he sat Kopi down on the floor, and she shook her leaves off a bit before stretching out. "Well Kopi, aren't you being a little dramatic?" He asked, chuckling.

Jewel had only been to the breeding centre once before, and it had been his introduction to pachee breeding. Needless to say, he had been surprised - they mated quite unlike any creature he had ever seen, but it was preferable to seeing a more... carnal display. As open as he was, he didn't need to witness his pets getting it on. It had opened up a can of worms, to to speak, and he had been eager to try again. Imagine his excitement when he found a suitable partner for Sprinkles! Sprinkles himself was feeling neither here nor there about the whole occasion. When the fae nudged the door open with his hip, though, the pachee's interest picked up. A new place, with unfamiliar objects. It was worth an investigation! "Okay, so..." Jewel was quick to find the only other person in the waiting room, mostly on account of their unusual appearance. "Hi! You wouldn't happen to be Renathan, would you?" (2)

Renathan hadn't really thought about breedings in a long while, he'd done a breeding a while back for orbaru that had lucked out with some gorgeous looking kiddos, but he'd slowed down a tad to figure out what to do with all of the pretty little beasties. However, he did want to start going out and seeing folks that were also interested in breeding again, like he used to, and he figured he had to start some-day. The mammalian gave a stretch, and glanced around. Time to look for the individual that was described to him... Or at the very least another pachee with brown leaves around. He went to turn around after hearing a greeting, and immediately grinned beneath his mask. "Yes- I'm Renathan, and you must be Jewel?" Of course they were, but Renathan greeted them with a nod anyway. "This is Kopi!" He said, bending down to pat the little pachee on the head.

Jewel had never seen someone like Renathan before. In his typical style, he had no shame in looking him up and down to get a read on him; a mammalian of sorts, with a fascinating dress sense. Man, if the fae could've gotten away with wearing an outfit like that, he would have. "That's me. Great to meet you," He said cheerily, polite even if his staring had not been. "Hi, Kopi! This one here is Sprinkles. Named for obvious reasons." He hoisted the pachee up in his grip, and Sprinkles blinked, looking between Renathan and Kopi on the ground. Someone that looked like him! He wiggled in Jewel's grip until he acquiesced and set him gently down. Too shy to go and greet the female, Sprinkles loitered around Jewel's ankles. "Are we waiting on a room? This place was crazy when I was here last. Couldn't move for breeders!" (4)

Renathan was pretty used to people looking him up and down. It didn't help that he was tall, and well, he looked different than a lot of mammalian that lived in Pethia even. Mammalians also weren't the most common folks in the labs, by far, so it wasn't a problem. Still, if he hadn't had fur on his face, he might have blushed out of habit. Thankfully, with fur and a mask, that wasn't too much of an issue. The individual was... A fae perhaps? It had been quite a while since he had seen a fae other than Odoshi at the Hunter's Lodge. "Great to meet you as well!" He says, straightening up a little to get a better look at Sprinkles. "Oh, he is very cute! I've not seen a marking like that before." He said, beaming beneath the mask. He was very lovely! Whereas Renathan liked to let people move on their own pace, poor little Kopi was a lot more brazen. She makes her way towards the male, but stops short, her head tilted sideways. "I believe it, it's always busy when I'm here too it seems. I've not done the paperwork with little Kopi yet since we got here really close to the same time." He said, while moving in the direction of the front desk apologetically. "Sorry I wasn't more prepared!"

Jewel felt a surge of pride at the compliments for his Sprinkles. He couldn't help it - he was a simple being at heart and thrived off of being told he, or his pets, were doing well. What an addictive feeling... was this why he had been so keen to keep going with breeding? "That's okay! We can get that sorted now," He replied, following over to the front desk and offering the receptionist a grin. "Hi, there. We have some forms to fill out, don't we?" In the interim, Sprinkles was staring at Kopi with a curious, but nervous, expression. He only knew two other pachee, and they were still babies, not eligible partners... he wasn't sure how he was supposed to act. Deciding that he was too shy to make the first move, he scampered back over to hang onto Jewel's ankle, peeping back at Kopi now and again to see if she was still paying attention. (6)

If there was anything on this planet that Renathan really loved just simply (like people loved the simpler things in life at least) it was cute little critters. Orbaru, Pachee, anything like that. He liked the bigger ones too, of course, but it was so easy to just play with smaller creatures like this without having to worry too much about it. Really good, relaxed fun. "Thanks!" He said, his voice jovial. He wrapped his tails close to him as he walked to make sure that they weren't stepped on (a habit since the breeding center was usually very crowded).
The receptionist grinned at them, undoubtedly recognizing one or both of them, and handed over the papers with a greeting. Renathan reached out for his forms, and began scrawling down Kopi's information and the little bit of his own that was required.
Kopi was torn between following Renathan closely since she was the most used to him, and being around the male. She hadn't met a male that was as handsome as he was. She spent a lot of time trying to keep away from the males in the gardens; but it would be nice to meet someone new! She blinked at him, really wanting to play, but following Renathan anyway, throwing her gaze over her shoulder to look at him while playing a tad coy.

Jewel had only filled in this form once before, and so was grateful to have Renathan alongside him. He had no embarrassment in glancing over to the mammalian's form if he got stuck on what he should be writing, but it was straightforward for the most part, as it was mostly describing Sprinkles and his lineage. When all the boxes were ticked, he handed it back over to the receptionist with a wink. "There you go. All yours." Kopi was remarkably pretty. Sprinkles reached up to brush the top of his own head after observing her antlers; he didn't have any of those... they made her even more interesting. He didn't know how to act! They could play, but he didn't know how to start that off... "Are you shy, Sprinkles?" The fae laughed and leaned down to pat the pachee's head. "It's okay, buddy. Kopi wants to be your friend!" (8)

Renathan was generally pretty quick with his form, but he was feeling a little bit self-conscious today (nothing serious, he was sure it was just a funky feeling from the winter weather finally melting off of him) so he had slowed up a bit and even glanced back at Kopi to make sure that she wasn't skewering anyone today. Truth be told, the other pachee in the Garden were terrified of her; she was bad about lowering her head and chasing the males around. Renathan had been a little scared that she would try to hurt the male, but she seemed to be taking to him decently enough at the moment. After Renathan was done filling out the papers, he turned it in and turned around, grinning beneath the mask at the two pachee. "How cute- what a shy boy!" Renathan said. "Well, if Kopi isn't chasing him around yet, it's a good sign. She's played a little rough with others before- but I think she's just picky."
Speaking of picky, the pachee feigns scratching her ear with a paw, opening her bright purple eyes at him every now and again. After she was done with that little display, she moved forward again, this time standing behind Renathan's leg, much closer now. At this, she leans forward in one quick snap, and tries to poke at him with a paw- not quite all the way on him of course. Not yet...

Sprinkles was captivated by Kopi's movements, holding his little paws to his chest. Wow. She was beautiful... her colours were much like the two other pachee in Jewel's kennel, but he liked her better. He'd never tried to play with a stranger, though, let alone a girl. When he saw her paw coming towards him, he allowed her to make contact, then darted away around Jewel's calf. "He hasn't met other pachee before, only the babies at my kennel," Jewel explained. "He doesn't know how to act. She's a beauty, though, so he better hurry and get used to it... oh, are we ready to go through?" Indeed they were, according to the receptionist, and once they had their room number, Jewel was happy to set off. Sprinkles kept close to the fae, but stalled whenever he noticed Kopi getting close. Playing it coy wasn't the most proactive method, but he was coming out of his shell bit by bit. (10)

Kopi was used to male attention, and usually it was unwanted. However, she was now a little bit nervous that she might scare this cute little boy off! She had pointy bits on her head, and knew that sometimes they were a little bit scary to other pachee. She waggled her tail a bit and then finally touched him- but then he went ZOOM and made off. Aww, where did the boy go? Did she scare him away? She was more curious than sad, and began 'looking for him' in comically the wrong direction.
Renathan grinned beneath the mask, his body held loosely in a way that belied his happiness today. It was a good day. "Oh, so you keep pachee?" He asked. "Poor boyo, well, he sure is handsome enough for her I am sure." He grinned. And then remembered- yes they did totally have somewhere to be! Silly him! "Ah, yeah, should be ready to go. Sorry I'm so scatterbrained today!" He said. Since when did he apologize this month?
Renathan followed after the pair, and Kopi finally 'found' Sprinkles, following after him but not quite getting too closer herself either. She was playing, getting a little closer, and then a little far away, blinking at him every now and again.

Jewel waved a hand, showing there was no worry about being scatterbrained. He was vague at the best of times. When they got to the door, he opened it with a flourish of enthusiasm - there wasn't a particularly dynamic room waiting for them, but it was comfortable enough, and the pachee would find entertainment in each other. "I don't have many. Only three including this little guy," He said, gesturing to Sprinkles. "But I really like them. I only came here recently, so I'm still getting used to all this stuff... the, uh, holes in heads for breeding..." Sprinkles' confidence was growing. Kopi was reciprocating, and that was good and meant that they could play! After a few moments of standing stock still, he darted straight towards her, only to swerve and change direction at the last minute. He could do that too! He raced off to hide under a chair. (12)

Renathan was generally pretty good at watching people's mannerisms, it was partially a habit from his own culture (since everyone wore masks it was sort of the only real way to ascertain emotional information about others). Renathan was glad that there was a room open quickly for them this time, so much so that he had sort of forgotten to wait for the door to be opened for him since the other individual was in front of him and he nearly bonked his head. Woops! That was totally his fault, and with the bonk narrowly missed, Renathan had himself a chuckle at his horrid luck. "Oh, that is a lovely start." He said, stepping in properly and watching to make sure that Kopi got inside. "I have a bunch of males myself... Only female of the bunch is little Kopi. She's learned to be spunky." That was the truth of it. "Ah, yeah. I totally get that, it freaked me out the first time too!" He admitted.
Little Kopi was very happy to see that the male was growing a little more bold. There was a first time for everything at least, since usually she tried to keep the males at bay. Perhaps it was the fact that he was so handsome (and smelled really good) or perhaps it was the newness of it, but she had already decided she liked the coy boy.
The game of chicken was sudden and shocked her into inaction, and then when she looked around, she saw that he had darted off. Now she was excited! She raced after him, nearly skidding into Renathan's legs as she did so.

Jewel watched the pachee with amusement as he took a seat, crossing one leg over the other. It was good to see Sprinkles was warming up to Kopi - it would have been embarrassing if he'd refused to get to know her! Playing was an excellent sign, so he would trust in the process and allow them to do as they wished. "I can tell! She's got some fire in her," He laughed. "Lots of things here are kinda confusing. I went to that mansion a few weeks ago... man, that was a trip. I don't know which way is up anymore." Sprinkles, loitering under the chair Jewel had sat on, looked at Kopi with amusement in his eyes. This was fun! As she came barrelling closer, he was brave enough to leap out to meet her, knocking into her and sending them both sideways. It didn't hurt! It was part of the game! (14)
