The new spell takes 15 MP permanently. Can that be taken out of separate nodes before swallowing another...? Or would that 15 transfer to the 25 you inherit from swallowing...? And if it does transfer, what happens to the two drained nodes used to make the familiar originally...?

You can only swallow one node, and if you swallow, you can't tap other nodes. You would have to use the swallowed MP to use it.

Okay. To clarify, I was meaning tapping into nodes before ever swallowing. Draining them. Then later deciding to swallow a node. Is that what you were referring to? And would the other drained nodes get their MP back since you said it would transfer to the swallowed...?

Say you had a basic light node and 15 MP worth of hollow. You tapped the hollow for witches gift. But then you swallow the light node. Swallowing the light node cuts you off from all other nodes. You ONLY have the light MP now. You do NOT have the hollow MP. Since you can no longer access the hollow magic from the hollow nodes, you cant use the hollow magic from the hollow nodes. You have to use the MP you do have, which is light magic. You cant cheat the system and 'spend' nodes that you cant tap into. Imo, if you tried it your way, the spell would break and you'd have to cast it again when you have MP to spare, such as light MP. The permanent part isnt exactly "you drain the magic and its gone" it's more like "it constantly costs this much MP to maintain this spell all the time".

I second Ashe's notion here, it's meant to always take that much MP to maintain the spell and be Unable to be turned off. Functionally, since the system is only EVER supposed to allow either Tapping OR being an Elemental (swallowing a node) you cannot do anything to get around how the system is supposed to function. It would 100% switch to take your 'swallowed node TP' since you are broken off from the other nodes.

That all makes 100% sense. Thanks
