Riku walked down the market street with a bag of credits at his disposal. He had been fairing pretty well lately and had not only been making sweet progress in the mines in between academic paychecks, but also had traded in a few dozen handfuls of creatures in exchange for some serious dough. And he felt it was time to shape that dough into something useful - or at least interesting.
He heard the voice of that usual cart man who had a new sales pitch every time he passed by. Normally he would completely tune him out - his wares were too abstract and much too expensive. However...he had some money now, and he was in the mood to spend it. He figured he'd check out the sun-covered make-shift outdoor shop.
He stopped by it and his eyes grew wider than he'd expected. Suddenly so many interesting oddities - and every single one within his price range. In fact...he could even buy two or three of a lot of these things. However, it may be best not to spend all his money in one place. At least not all at one time!
Ruby Charm Of Brilliance 1,000c Psychic Injection 800c 2x Amulet of Submission 300c 2x Red Ribbon of Telepathy 360c - 10% barter 246c
The owner of the Traveler's Emporium, Adam, watched as a young man came strolling down the market street. They always tried to look uninterested, but his sales pitches were one of a kind. He always lured them in. Always. Sure enough, the customer- or to-be customer's- eyes lit up at the sight of his wares, and he was happy to show them off. Soon he had built up a veritable list of items that the man was interested in buying, and was happy to tally it up. "So then!" He said cheerily, his smile never leaving his face. "For the charm of brilliance, the psychic injection, both of the amulets of submission and those two ribbons of telepathy, your total today is 2,460 credits. I assume this is amenable?"
Riku smiled at the man in the suit. He was very charming and it made him immediately feel more comfortable in his purchases. "You work fast." he laughed, looking over everything again. It was a lot of money....most of what he had recently come into. But....these were just too good to pass by once more. He always tried to ignore the salesman - and he usually felt pretty confident in it, too - but he almost always thought about those intricate accessories and potions right before he fell asleep. They had worked themselves into his mind...
And here he was...! Almost holding them in his hands! They were right there....all he had to do was make an even exchange of credits to their worth. He was normally grateful it wasn't just weight, but this one time that would have definitely saved is finances. Such tiny objects with such a pretty credit to their titles...
He held the bad of credits in his hand and looked down at it and then back at the man. He wondered how far he could pull for his own benefit. This was a bit too fast, after all. "That sounds a bit high..." he said, glazing over the items again more obviously. "How about 2,220?" he offered in return. He felt a bit better this time presenting a new deal. Usually he was more awkward about it - even though they seemed to be successful anyway. Perhaps that's what made him more sure this time around.
Alan nodded politely, but didn't back down at Riku's hesitance. "Well of course it's high. These are all quality items, of course. You won't find anything like these, or even anything CLOSE in the whole of the city!" He said, but did think about his offer. "Very well! I'll accept 2,220. I'll be expecting you to come back, though." He said encouragingly, and held his hand out for the credits before handing over the items.
Riku laughed mild but genuine at the man's claim. "You're right," he started "these aren't anywhere else in the city. I've looked!" he laughed some more with the seller and gestured to the price tags. "I just couldn't walk by one more time while I finally had the credits to buy some of these." He took one last moment to look into his bag of credits before officially deciding to go through with it. Then he pulled out and separated enough for the agreed upon price and handed it to the shop owner.
He reached his hand out afterwards to shake the salesman's hand politely. He was proud of his purchase, and he wanted the other person to know he wanted to honor his request. "I will definitely be coming back once I have the spare credits. Pretty sure I'm close to getting a much better job, so hopefully it will be soon." He winked at him, taking a personal note that he was much more charming than usual but not questioning it, and he said "I think I've opened a can of worms here. No going back!"
Alan smiled slightly as Riku handed over the credits. He made sure to double check that they were all there before dropping them into one of his own pouches with a little flair. "You're absolutely right. Thank you so much for your patronage today- I eagerly await your next visit. As much of a can of worms as it might be." He said with a slight chuckle, returning Riku's handshake. Without further ado, he packaged up the items (some were quite delicate, after all) and handed them to the customer. They were out of his hands now. Another sale well made.
Morgan: No one knows yet. But I did want to make it clear that the jar itself isn't used for lotine husbandry in any way. c:

Twilight-Claw: I'm only assuming that it does something similar like a Fungal Beast that infects a Leaf-scatter. (the one with moss and I think it was a pink flower growing on the head.)

Silver: I'll try it soon and we'll find out!
Jun 5, 2020 4:16:11 GMT -6
Silver: I don't think anyone knows yet!
Jun 5, 2020 4:16:05 GMT -6
Darky: What did the 'infection' do again?
Jun 5, 2020 4:14:43 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for this information, its really useful to know! <3
Jun 5, 2020 4:14:30 GMT -6
Morgan: The lolatic doesn't disappear after one use, and can be reused on the same lotine when it is allowed to 'infect' a lotine- to my knowledge.
Jun 5, 2020 1:41:37 GMT -6
Morgan: The only effect/thing that the jar can be used for is to open up into a lolatic. The jar itself has no use in lotine breedings.
Jun 5, 2020 1:39:52 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: and the jar is then gone, if with the creature I am more guessing with this the creature doesn't disappear and it has unlimited use.
Jun 5, 2020 0:17:55 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Something else I am wondering about with the Lotine breeding is whether one would use the jar the Lolatic comes from in the breeding, or actually the creature itself. I'm assuming with it if its the jar, then it gives people only one shot in a breeding,
Jun 5, 2020 0:16:08 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Then using it in my rps is definitely just for the sake of rp's and not for anything additional.
Jun 5, 2020 0:12:17 GMT -6
Renathan: Fish are unlimited use once bought though. c:
Jun 4, 2020 22:31:17 GMT -6
Renathan: There's no additional effect for adding a fish to a magical berry in a lotine breeding. Magical Berry is kinda it's own thing. Adding a fish for roleplay value shouldn't hurt, but it has no effect when used on a magical berry lotine breeding.
Jun 4, 2020 22:27:14 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: be just for the sake of rp, and perhaps seeing if it might lent a bigger chance to multiple offspring with unique pattern. X3
Jun 4, 2020 15:31:01 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: I think your right on it being unlimited use yeah, although.. *cough* I only found out a couple hours after I started writing that I had yet to buy the fish in question so used the one you could get for free as a replacement, it still was meant to mostly
Jun 4, 2020 15:30:59 GMT -6
Riku: From what I loosely understand about the fish is that it isn't one-use, whereas the berry is. I feel like there wouldn't be any consequence of 'using' the fish...which I'd think just ooc wouldn't be counted for whatever rolls or whatever it is that it uses
Jun 3, 2020 14:14:30 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for that piece of info Ren! <3 | But would it be allowed for the flavor of the rp if the berry wasn't filling enough for the Lotine?
Jun 1, 2020 6:09:21 GMT -6
Renathan: There is no need to double up on a fish and a magical berry (doesn't change the effect of the berry at all) in a lotine breeding.
Jun 1, 2020 6:02:21 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Does anyone know if it is possible to combine both a magical berry and a fish in a Lotine breeding? Or is you can only choose one of them? (right now writing a Lotine breeding)
Jun 1, 2020 5:36:49 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: I am still interested in trading it for a green drake.
