After that, Millicent was able to easily flit around in the air above the creature. Sure, it was still scary, but she had been able to overcome the fearfulness of the situation. The human stepped away, tipped the owner of the tainted equillion, and then the individual left. The human was incredibly happy with how well that had went, so they spent some time just talking with Millicent and letting her decompress before they would work on the next couple of things. The one Morgan was sure that Millicent would want to do next wasn't going to be too difficult, so the human was hoping that she'd feel calm enough to start right into it.
It didn't take long for Millicent to decompress and already be excited to start on the next thing. "So, do you want to t-try the running thing, this go around?" Morgan asked her, grinning.

Millicent had already pretty well mastered the whole 'sprinting around' thing, so Morgan was hoping that she would get through the 'learning to do that multiple times without stopping' thing quickly. The concern Morgan had was partially that Millicent was indeed a young harachiu, and humanoid enough that the human knew that they would feel bad about pushing her to run past her limits, which was what was absolutely required. "Alright, so we're gonna need you t-to do the dash thing we worked on the other day." Morgan said to her, walking out to a place where there was lots of room out in the grass for the harachiu to run. She was so much smaller than a humanoid that Morgan knew this would be difficult enough for her.
The young harachiu was game though, and was very excited to start. "Alright, so every time I t-tell you to, you need to run, and try not to stop, okay?"

Millicent was not at the age that being told what to do bothered her yet, and Morgan was immensely thankful of that. The human could not at all imagine her going through a rebellious stage yet, especially not since she was already learning sarcasm (okay, that was partially Morgan's fault, too- as well as the curse-words the youngster was beginning to learn the use of). For now, Morgan was enjoying the fact that she was the way that she was.
Millicent nodded, and the pair got to work. Morgan called out the 'cue' word that they had chosen for the dash behavior last time, and Millicent began running. She was really in shape thanks to all of the work they did for her learning how to punch and kick, so she was about as swift as Morgan could hope for. Whenever Millicent began to slow, Morgan called out the cue word yet again.

Millicent probably didn't realize that this was going to be difficult until she started to slow up, feeling a little winded, and she was given the cue to keep going. Of course she knew intellectually what that meant, but it was a whole other world entirely when she realized that she was going to most likely be sore by the time this was all said and done. Still, she understood why she needed to do this, and forced herself forward, running full-blast again. Morgan was always amazed with Millicent's desire to push herself and determination. It wasn't something that Morgan felt like they would probably see in other individuals, even the tat-lungs were much more interested in just getting stuff done because they had to, and certainly not because they wanted to do so. Millicent, on the other hand, seemed quite determined, even when she began to slow again, and the cue word was given yet again for her to speed back up.

Millicent was certainly not loving this, at this point, but she knew that she had to push past it if she was going to be able to get closer to her goal of being able to protect herself. She knew that Morgan would probably let her out by herself more often when she was older, but that would never happen even if she was older if she didn't have the ability to push herself to protect herself. So she pushed past her limits, running even as she was tired. She didn't dare turn back to look at Morgan, knowing that if she did she would probably see them looking guilty for pushing her so hard, and she'd never be able to grow to do this if Morgan was too easy on her. So she dashed away the best she could, each time the cue word was called out, trying to hide her fatigue.

Morgan was going to give Millicent a break soon, because they figured that it was about time to start her on the next thing they were going to work on, and run that concurrently with the rest of this work. They figured that it would flow nicely together, and Millicent was pretty much ready for it regardless. However, they decided to push her a little further before doing that, and already it seemed like Millicent was doing quite well! The progress was quite obvious, she was able to dash multiple times in a row at this point, though not without some slowing. That was good, that was certainly progress. After they were done, Morgan called her over, and noticed that Millicent was shaking a bit. They sat down, and gave her some water for her to replenish and calm down.
"We're going to w-work on this still, but also, work on your dodging next." Morgan explained as Millicent rested.

Millicent was tired, but they were so close to getting this finished that she was willing to overlook that to try. Morgan pulled a canister out of their backpack, and unscrewed the plastic lid to show Millicent what was inside of it. "These are little h-hard paper beebees." The bespectacled human explained. "I'll have to throw them at ya. The idea is that you n-need to figure out how to feel them coming, and dodge them before they h-hit you." At this, Millicent finished her water, and it was time to start again. "I'll throw these at ya, and we'll need you to dash out of the way, okay Millicent?" Morgan asked.
The harachiu was a little sore, but was ready to go. This was going to take a lot of work, but she knew that it would be worth it. Being able to feel an attack coming would be a great boon.

The practice began shortly after that much like it had been earlier, with the cue word being used to remind Millicent to keep going and not to stop the dashing behavior, and then Morgan slowly introduced the throwing of the little paper bee-bees that would biodegrade so that Morgan didn't have to bother with picking all of them up later. At first, they started like they did with nearly every other situation in which they had taught a creature or family member this, not trying to actually his Millicent. It was enough to give the harachiu a jolt, however, and she tried her best to dodge away from the beebees, though she found it to be incredibly difficult to do so! Morgan knew that this was just the start, and that Millicent would get much better at this as time went on. Thankfully, she was doing a lot better with her endurance work!

The pair continued working on this for another hour, with Millicent struggling nearly the entire time. Even though Morgan wasn't trying to hit her, and Millicent was very small and that made it hard to actually hit her in the first place, Millicent was still pretty scared that she would get hit, and it was making her avoid the beebees obviously and at wide margins, wasting a lot of her energy in the process. There was no way that it would save her life if she were attacked if she was too tired to act quickly afterward. Morgan finally had her stop, and then gave her some water. Then, the pair left for that day so that they could properly rest.
The next morning after breakfast, they were back to further work on Millicent's endurance and dodging ability. She was still very sore, but today she was doing much better already.

An hour's worth of work went by, with the dash cue being given whenever Millicent began to slow up, and the little biodegradable beebees being tossed at the young harachiu at randomized intervals. At first, she was as clumsy as she had been the day before, but soon she seemed to get the knack of it. By the end of the first hour, Morgan was reasonably sure that the beebees could be thrown at a less random and more forceful rate. She wasn't quite to the point that Morgan wanted her to be at, but she was making leaps and bounds in progress. By the end of the day, Morgan was sure that they would make the breakthrough soon.
They had left for the day, and returned the next after breakfast, starting up right where they had left off. Millicent was much more confident today, and Morgan was sure that today was the day!

Morgan and Millicent worked together to get Millicent up to the three bee-bee point that Morgan often started noticing the best results in beings being taught the danger sensing behavior soon after the start of their work, and Millicent's dashing had gotten up to the point to where she didn't break a sweat with the repeated sprinting bouts. That was good, Morgan knew, she would be able to hold her own against most threats with that, at least until she could get away. However, they still had a bit of work to get to before Morgan knew that Millicent would eventually begin sensing the 'danger' of the beebees being thrown at her without looking at them. After about an hour, Morgan noticed it- the first sign that Millicent was dodging things without looking at them, using only her instincts to feel for the danger.
Another hour later, and the pair went home. Morgan was satisfied that Millicent had learned how to use her senses to better feel danger before it occurred and to be able to get out of the way.
