Without any further hesitation though, Fiera put it away before shuffling her backpack back up onto her back. She whistled, and Algol finally looked over from where he was basking in the sunlight. "Come on bud, we're going home!" She called, and the sarane drake just growled at her. "Come on, don't be like that." Fiera chided gently. "Just get up, let's go." She said, turning to grab the bucket. It was pretty heavy, but she was sure that she could manage it on the way home. The walk wouldn't take forever after all. Now all she needed to do was get Algol going. He was taking his sweet time standing up and stretching his wings, shooting Fiera dirty glares the whole time he did so. "Yes, I'm very mean." She said without a hint of actual sympathy. "Now let's leave already!" She said, snapping at him and beginning to walk.

Algol huffed and puffed more and more, but eventually got up to follow her. From there, the trip back was rather nondescript, all things considered. They passed all the landmarks that went by on the way here, and eventually Fiera started spotting more and more people, some of whom waved as they passed. They had a massively successful trip today overall. Fiera didn't think she had ever caught so many fish on one trip before. She would see some healthy profits from these. But more importantly, Algol seemed to be calmer and well rested now. Fiera was excited to see how his training would turn out. She had no doubt that he would pick it up quick now that they were better bonded. He'd need that peace of mind for the tournament too- Fiera still wasn't sure what to expect with that. For now though, they still had to get themselves- and their things- home.

The little squirt found itself caught in the netting of the net and squirmed, shooting ink at the woman who was next to it to try and escape.

Just before she left though, she heard a splash from the water next to her. "...What's...?" She said, dropping the bucket and giving Algol a couple of sharp orders. "Algol, stay there!" She said quickly. The drake sat down in shock, so unused to Fiera having such a serious tone of voice. She slid down to the riverbank and found something caught in a tidepool (or whatever the river equivalent was). She grinned- she was ready to leave, but this would be an easy catch. Or at least so she though, until it squirted ink right in her face. She choked and sputtered for a moment, trying to wipe it off. "Okay, you." She hissed. "You're going to pay for that." She dove her net forward, trying to drag it toward her and block its avenue of escape. If she could get it close enough, THEN she could try and ply it with treats. Or just, you know, scoop it into the bucket.

It wriggled and would have laughed if it could when the ink hit the woman's face, but as it was, it was too terrified to do much. It shook as it's tentacles hooked themselves harder into the netting and made it harder for it to get away, but it still struggled and squirmed, trying to get away as the woman tried to catch it.

Fiera smiled with satisfaction as the jellyfish looking creature got more and more trapped in her net, its tentacles getting tangled with the mesh. It tried squirting out a few more jets of ink, but these ones weren't anywhere near Fiera. Before she pulled it out completely however, she prised the lid off the top of her fishing bucket again. It was just cheap plastic, but sturdy enough and wide enough to fit over the opening of her net. She dipped it into the water and slapped it down over the top of the net, trapping the jelly beast inside... hopefully. SHe had the feeling this would work, but anything could happen. Jellyfish, or squirters, or whatever this was were known for being able to slip through small cracks. The lid looked like it fit perfectly when she stuck it in the water, but she'd have to see for sure when she pulled the net out.

Ah! It was caught in something... weird! It struggled and wriggled but only ended up getting more and more desperate as the lid was clamped down around the netting. No... it couldn't be caught, that was the worst part of this whole thing! But there was nothing else it could think of doing, and letting more ink out for just a moment, it settled down on the bottom and covered it's strange face with a tentacle.
[Congratulations, you've caught the Squirt!]

Finally, the squirt's struggling slowed and Fiera felt brave enough to take a closer look at it. She couldn't quite make out its shape, unfortunately. It had pretty much entirely tangled itself up in the net, and would have to sort itself out once she put it in the catch bucket. Still, at least now she could get it out and take it home. It was an interesting little critter, that was for sure. As far as she could tell it was made up of shades of black, red, and yellow, and it was definitely capable of squirting ink. It was also probably full of shame by this point as well, to her amusement. Still, once she got it in the bucket she would be able to tell its shape... she just needed to get it over there first. With that in mind though, she started gently raising it out of the water.

The squirt gave a few more halfhearted wiggles, but Fiera knew that it was well and caught. Fiera gave a quick chuckle of smug satisfaction and slipped it into the catch bucket. She peered down into it, but off to the side to make it harder to ink her again. Sure enough, it was a black, red, and yellow squirt. It looked a lot better now that it was in the bucket, and was already in the process of untangling its tentacles from each other. The other fish in the bucket scattered away from it- she supposed that it was more dangerous than she thought. To these fish it was a giant jungle cat, but to her it was a mere nuisance. Either way, Fiera was sure that if looks could kill, Fiera would have perished a thousand times over by now under the force of this squirt's withering glare.

She clamped the lid shut again and picked the bucket up. NOW they were ready to go. Algol was waiting for her and finally stood up again and stretched, glad to see Fiera all ready to go- and probably was pleased to see her getting taken down a notch by a mere jellyfish. She simply rolled her eyes as she walked away though. Her fishing trip had been successful and was now even more so now that she had a trainable pet to bring home as well as all of her less clever fish. She already had plans for the one squirt she brought home already, but this one would be an extra goody for her kennel. Meanwhile, Algol was probably itching to get back by now, and perhaps she could segue that impatient urge into a training session. He wanted to do something else? Excellent. Fiera could arrange that.

Fiera had brought Ophelia to the river… well, mostly because there weren’t many other places she could bring her. Amphadron babies weren’t exactly known for their strong limbs, and even their swimming abilities were nothing to write home about. The mines, the eccentric’s mansion, and even Fiera’s own garden were pretty off limits for the humanish and her pet. Even now, Fiera found herself walking along a particularly gentle, clear, and sluggish stream for Ophelia’s benefit to avoid the young amphadron getting washed away. Even like this though, it was clearly tough going for her to stay upright and she was quite glad that they were walking downstream as the tadpole flipped and flopped over the rocks. The way back up… well, Fiera might have to put her in her catch bucket with the rest of the fish she caught considering how flimsy the moss amphadron’s body was.

Fiera’s catch bucket was empty for now of course, though she knew it wouldn’t stay that way for long. Her last fishing session with her sarane Algol had proven to be a huge success, and Fiera ended up quite literally with more fish than she knew what to do with. Her catch bucket had practically been bursting at the seams and as a result she had brought a much larger one this time. It was propped up on wheels this time, allowing her to more easily transport the greater volume of water over the shoreline, though she had to make sure she stuck to the flatter portions of the shoreline like this. There would be no manuvering around cliff faces or slogging through mud with this thing, that was for sure. Still, she could probably make up for the lack of agility with the sheer volume of fish she could collect in it.

As for the tools she would be catching these fish with, Fiera had her trusty net and fishing pole. The humanish had relied mostly on the net last time and had been working on wrestling fish out of the shallows herself, but she was hoping she could give her fishing rod some time in the spotlight this time around. She wasn’t as experienced with it as she would like to be, and wanted to fix that. But more importantly, she wanted to spend more time with Ophelia and bond with her (as much as she could with the placid beastie), and the fact that she could cast her line and then leave it until a fish bite was more conducive to that than if she went hunting aorund in the shallows with a net, leaving her pet to her own devices. In order to do that though, she had to find a good spot.

In the meantime, she glanced over at Ophelia, watching the little brown shape splash through the shallows. She was nowhere near pupation yet, a stage in which Fiera had the feeling she would be near untrainable. The humanish was trying to get as much training in as possible before then as a result, as she knew that amphadron were quite headstrong and difficult to train if you didn’t spend enough time with them when they were young. Fiera could hardly imagine Ophelia in that larger, saurian form. Right now she was just a wiggly little tadpole, barely capable of handling the smallest current in this stream. She had the feeling she’d have quite some time with her like this, so she might as well get used to it. “Come along, Ophelia!” Fiera said, pushing forward a bit so she could find a spot to settle down. The amphadron rushed after her.
