Well, at least this was progress, Morgan felt. Meteora had moved over here, even if it was at great coaxing. They'd heard that critters were locked stiff whenever they were around creatures like this. Morgan continued with Meteora, trying to coax her forward and get her to come closer to the equillion. It took a good thirty minutes for the creature to scooch foreward, even the tiniest bit. However, she didn't flatten down against the ground after that, instead crouched down. That was progress. She wasn't as frightened, even though she was still super scared. Morgan understood that. "Good gal, good gal." Morgan mumbled to her, patting her on the head dome. "Now come on, come on c-Meteora!" They said to her, coaxing and trying to get her to come closer to the equillion the entire time. She slowly inched forward, about as fast as grass grows, it felt like.

The inching forward was good, that showed initiative, and that needed to be rewarded. Morgan snuck the dragonoak a bit of a treat and then petted her on the head dome. The dragonoak quietly leaned into Morgan's hand after taking a treat piece and that was that. Morgan was sure that she would slowly come around, now. The concern that Morgan had was that the poor dragonoak didn't have the psycho social bond well enough to stick around when there was danger lurking about, like with this tainted equillion that was quite frightening. Morgan continued to work with the dragonoak while she was still on the lead, until finally they were close enough that Morgan knew it was time to press her a little more. The dragonaok was standing now, not quite crouching, but she still seemed a little stiffer in the muscles than normal. She wasn't quite to normal yet.

Morgan suddenly realized that there wasn't really a good reason to actually enter this upcoming tournament. They wished they'd thought about it sooner, but seeing the little dragonoak look super anxious was enough to make Morgan realize that it was a mistake, and a stupid idea. So the human decided right then and there that their plans of entering the pit at all were crushed before they were born. Ah well.
At this, they still continued, it would still be good for the dragonoak to be trained, regardless of what they wanted to do with it. So they continued to work with the creature, attempting to get her to be willing to come closer to the enemy equillion, hoping that she would eventually stop being as frozen. She was slowly learning to move, slowly, crawling across the ground and then finally standing and walking. She was still a little slow, though.

The pair continued to work on this for another hour. The dragonoak got better incrementally, slowly standing up until she was standing straight, slowly moving closer and closer, gaining confidence, and then finally she began to move forward with more speed. Eventually, Morgan had her walking circles around the equillion and it's rider, much more confident and moving with a lot less stress than she had been. She moved more loosely and less anxious, and then finally the intimidating creature was not making the dragonoak afraid at all. Morgan paid the individual and quickly they left. The Next few days Morgan took many of their own intimidating creatures around the dragonoak, and none of their intimidation seemed to effect the dragonoak at all. She was finally able to ignore the bad effects of being around scary predator creatures. Morgan was pleased with the development and decided that the dragonoak was done with the training for a bit.

Morgan sat on the park bench, staring oddly out at the Dragonoak. The creature laid out on the grass in the sun. The grass was soft and short, and the sun was bright. Undoubtedly she was photosynthesizing. The human didn't feel comfortable seeing her get hurt. They should have known that they would have felt like this, it was a big waste of time, they decided. However, the human was still trying to convince theirself that it would be worth it. They didn't feel super comfortable about this, any of it. What made them think that it was even worth the time?
The human sits there carefully, in the sun. The dragonoak can photosynthesize, feeling comfortable and happy. Morgan couldn't. They felt a little over-hot, and a little sad about what they had almost forced this creature into. What had they been thinking? And so, the dragonoak laid on the grass, and Morgan sat on the bench.

There was a tree, nearby. A few jibiji were in the tree. The dragonoak looked up, pale blue eyes staring into the tree, and she seemed so at peace. It was the case, it seemed, that plant creatures really were this calm. How evil would it be for Morgan to push the creature into a pit and hope for the best? It was a horrible thought. Morgan quietly reached out and patted the creature, which was warmed from the sun, and thought about what they would do from here on further. Probably work with Millicent, they decided. She needed more attention, so that Morgan had time to give the tat-lungs more attention.
They both felt incredibly calm, in that moment. Finally, Morgan stands. They had been planning to do a training session today. They decided against it. Morgan lead the dragonoak away, out of the park, and back home. The trek was quiet and amicable.
