Spring was the season for planting, and it seemed like the quest board's requests were reflecting that. Last month he had found a plant related job, and this month he'd found one too. Granted, it was a smaller task than the last one had been, a bit of clean up work at a... Well, not exactly a private garden, but the garden of a non-gardening shop couldn't have been so big, could it? The shop itself certainly didn't look very big, though it was rather neat, and the decor was so lovely and inviting. It was a shame that Aubrey didn't have much money to spend, or else he might have entertained the idea of coming here himself at some point. "They're nice, aren't they?" he said, pointing out the parasols on display in the window, to Yeo-reum, who was accompanying him. It had become a sort of habit between the two of them.

Aubrey took him along for the company, which he liked as he worked, and ostensibly for the protection, though he had never run into any real trouble while he was out. If he collapsed--- which admittedly hadn't happened in quite some time--- Yeo-reum could probably get him somewhere safe, get help if need be. But really, it was mostly just because being by himself wasn't much fun. When he was growing up, Damien had always been there, and he had just gotten used to it.
Yeo-reum probably tagged along because it was something to do. Their home wasn't a big one, and thus far no one else seemed to be very eager to play with him. The parasols here were a novelty, and Aubrey supposed the garden of someone else's home would be a novelty too. For the first time, Aubrey wondered if there would be any other creatures living there.

It would be a difficult time if Yeo-reum bothered them. Aubrey could keep an eye on him, but... Goodness, he hoped it wouldn't come to that.
"Come on," he said to Yeo-reum, who at least came away from the window biddably enough when Aubrey called for him. "Let's see what we're dealing with here." He was anxious to see the state of the garden, and of any residents it might have had, so that he could make a game plan of sorts if nothing else. They'd mentioned wanting some help with cleaning the place, but just how messy was it to begin with...?
Fortunately for Aubrey, at a glance there didn't seem to be any garden creatures around. Well, it was true that this was a parasol shop and not, say, an apothecary like the Herbologist's Delight. But then he couldn't imagine Alura asking for anyone else's help to clean her garden either.

And even if she did, Aubrey wouldn't have dreamed of taking such a job if she wasn't going to be present; he wasn't qualified, and heavens forbid Yeo-reum cause any trouble there.
As it was, he was already hard at work, poking his long nose into all sorts of places. Aubrey watched and didn't quite stop him, since Yeo-reum wasn't really doing anything that was truly objectionable, but all the same, he wasn't exactly at ease either.
"This isn't our garden, so let's not break anything, alright?" said Aubrey, nervousness coloring his voice. Yeo-reum looked up from a stack of empty pots, eyes bright. Aubrey didn't detect anything like an affirmation from him, but... he couldn't exactly spend all this time just watching the Tat either. He had a job to do here. "Be good, alright?" he said. He trusted that Yeo-reum knew what that meant, but as to whether he would take it to heart...

Still, the tools were easy enough to find when Aubrey went to look for them. And the work wasn't too bad, just a bit of mud and mess, some of which could be hosed or trimmed away, and other things that might need a few more creative solutions. The hedges could do with a bit of trimming too, if he had time afterwards.
On a whim, while inspecting a hedge, he coaxed a few flowers out of it. They were small, white, sweet-smelling things, a little early for the season but pretty all the same. The flowers, in turn, coaxed a smile out of him.
Yeo-reum must have sensed that something interesting was afoot, as he came bounding over not long after, looking over Aubrey's shoulder at the flowers. "Oh, yes, that would be me," said Aubrey, when Yeo-reum glanced at him with a questioning expression. Had he ever shown this ability to the Tat before?
