Current Quest
With the success of last month in planting trees and then the seeds of flowers, she feels confident that while this one might end up dirtying themselves up more than the last one due to needing to deal with the mud from what the letter described of this quest, she thinks it could still end up being a fun one too. She aims a little smile at Solis, her right hand holding on to part the fur on her flank, just incase the double vision is starting to make it harder to differentiate whose sight she is looking from, and stumble while walking. The strange phantom pressure at the side of her shoulder makes it easy to know at what part she is actually clinging on had Solis been more like a humanoid. “I wonder what you would have looked like if you had been one.” She muses out loud, catching Solis attention while she shifts her position slightly, having brought along not just her backpack, but also her own shovel and rake, she keeps ahold of those two mostly by letting the shafts lean on her left shoulder so that they aren’t too heavy. “Ruff?” She hears Solis say in a tone that seems slightly confused? Well, that is understandable. She hadn’t exactly given Solis much context with what she said.

“Don’t mind me Sol’, just musing about something.” She grins at Solis while the wolf’s head is turned towards her, only long enough to see her face before they both start walking again. The store she would be working at should be somewhere in this neighborhood, she thinks while looking at the houses and some of the shops she is passing by while checking the number to see which one it is she needs to lend a hand. ‘Come to think of it. Isn’t the Herbologist close by?’ Some of the stores did seem familiar to her, so it is certainly a street she had passed a couple of times in the past, but likely not often enough. She’s lucky at least that the roads are paved, because she can see what the one described in the quest with their garden being awful, some of the front gardens she sees and haven’t been tended to, don’t look all that great with the drooped leaves, hanging flowers and some bushes containing broken branches. But if that came from the heavy rain, or being broken deliberately by the owner, she can’t say for certain if she can’t take a closer look at it. The name of one of the stores she is passing by, she notices it has scrawled in delicate lettering right above the door saying, Pleasant Parasols.

“Here it is!” With a tone in delight, she pats Solis on the flank before letting go and carefully walking to the front of the store which has a rather homely feeling to it, at least on the outside. More of a cottage with cheerful parasols painted on the walls, but not at the large windows, and a couple metal vases containing what is likely umbrella’s instead of parasols due to the size from what she can tell is placed right below it. Which is interesting as that would mean he doesn’t sell just one type of product. While the sides of the cottage contain a low fence to keep people out of the garden. Reaching the front door, she sees a small number thirteen near it to the side that indicates the house number, but she ignores that for now. “Stay here Solis, I’ll be back in a minute.” She says to her companion, turning her gaze for just a moment towards Solis who looks slightly confused as her head is tilted to the side, and one ear seems to be pointed slightly to the back of her head.

Solis is definitely too big to enter this store. Dropping the shovel and rake from her shoulder so that it leans near the wall, she Opens the door, she closes it quickly behind her. “Hello?” She calls out, and hears it almost in a double tone, if only softer because Solis is outside, the soft whimpering coming out of Solis throat is more easily heard, yet distracting all the same even when it is only heard from one source. She really needs to figure out where exactly her connection to those links is located, because she can tell already this is going to be quite distracting if the conversation is going to take too long. “Welcome! What can I help you with?” Says a thin woman with stress lining her face as she comes closer, her outfit almost reminding her of a business suit, if not for something that looks to be missing from it, though it certainly isn’t the missing tie alone that makes her think of it. “Ahh yes, I came here for request about a certain garden?” She says with a small smile, growing bigger as she notices a bit of relieve appearing in the women’s brown eyes. “Right! I did make that request a few days ago, I thought no one would after the first day, and that I would still need to do it all on my wholesome.” The women says happily as she leads her outside, pausing for a moment at the sight of Solis who stares balefully at her, sniffing as if the shopkeeper did something offensively towards Solis herself.

She wonders for a moment if it is because she left her outside, and the whimpering she heard through their link stopped the moment Solis noticed she was going to come back again. “Don’t mind Solis, she’s just not quite used to being separated from me all that much yet when outside of the kennel.” She explains while picking up the shovel and rake near the wall, after seeing the women give Solis a weary look, which is fair, Solis can definitely look frightful when she bares her teeth. “Right..” She hears the women say in a doubtful tone. “Well, this way then.” The women says as she starts leading them to the back of the garden, she couldn’t help but notice her making a wide berth around Solis while she is at it, opening a small gate at the side of the cottage that leads to a paved but rather muddy ground filled with bushes that contain rather pretty pink flowers in them, where it not for the drooping state some of them are in. “Well, have at it I suppose.” The women says, and waving her hand in the general direction of the plants. “Just make not to destroy my plants.” Was the only warning she gave while looking at Solis that is still on the other part of the fence before leaving the pair alone in a hurried manner when she needs to pass by Solis.

“Don’t worry, we’ll do.” She says with a nod at the women. Watching her leave for only a moment, and then focusing her attention on Solis. “Well?” She indicates with her hand at the garden. “You coming?” With a small huff Solis looks first at her, and then the garden, only the stones that are paved into a path are somewhat dry compared to the rest, and she sees her wrinkle her nose at the mud. ‘Does Solis perhaps hate getting her fur dirty?’ She wasn’t certain of that, but- With a small hop over the fence, Solis lands on the mud, splattering her in the progress. “Solis!” She yelps at the unexpectedness of it, and feeling just a little wet from the dirt on her pants now. Now it was her wrinkling her nose at the dirt on her pants, not to mention, the phantom feeling of wet hands and feet.

“I guess this is why you looked displeased.” She mutters to Solis, hearing her huff almost in confirmation at her words and making her smile at that. “Right then, we’d best start on the garden now, hopefully we’ll be done at midday.” She continues while looking at the garden, there is certainly plenty of mud in it, and a lot of leaves on the ground too. But it would likely be best to work first on the bushes, and then with the ground. That way she can just throw the broken bits on the ground without care, cleaning that up later. “That could work.” She murmurs, and sees through Solis eyes she has a rather contemplative look on her face. Smiling, she turns her attention towards Solis. “Perhaps you could scout the garden? See what the worst parts are?” Solis merely stares at her in confusion, making her sigh at that.

She knows with the charm she gave Solis, that her intelligence skyrocketed by quite a bit, but she is definitely showing as well that she is still too young to know what she is talking about. “It will come in time, just have to be patient.” She murmurs to herself and looks away from Solis whose confusion goes as far as feeling her emotion just enough to know it is coming from the link between them. Placing the rake and shovel near the fence, she shrugged off her backpack and opened the zipper. She didn’t plan on keeping the bag at the ground, so she only took out a pair of leather gloves and a hand pruner, before zipping the bag closed and placing it on her back again. Sure, she could take out of her bag the two bowls, some food and a water bottle, but its probably for the best that she does that a few hours later.

Solis drank plenty before they left, and perhaps within that time it might be a bit drier already in order to place it on the ground. Putting the gloves on, she walks closer to the first bush with the little flowers growing from it, inspecting it from all sides before she starts snipping off some of the smaller branches that are too bended to be able to grow in a good direction again. Trying to make the first bush more rounded in appearance, and when possible, pushing some branches back into it if she doesn’t need to cut them. In the end, she made the first bush look good, and less like it is drooping and.. could plants fall into a depression? The drooping look most of them have when she looks around at the other ones she still needs to do certainly makes her think of it. “One down, multiple more to go.” She says out loud, gaining a loud bark in answer from Solis when she did.

Looking at her makes her think that she had been able to ignore their connection for just a little while, as she sees Solis sitting on the paved path, wagging her tail slightly while looking at her in a serious manner. ”What?” She says with a grin, wondering what made Solis both excited and look so serious. Or was she reading too much into it by facial expression alone? Taking a moment to feel her emotions, she definitely feels amusement at the sight before her with Solis paws being covered in brown mud against her black and white fur, curiosity and, yes, that does feel bit like exhilaration. She’s certain she isn’t the one feeling that. Taking a few steps away from the bush, and closer to Solis she tilts her head a bit to the side, trying to recall what confusion feels like, and increasing her curiosity at the sight of Solis being so excited with no apparent reason attached to it. This is just a normal garden in the end after all, doesn’t look all that special.

“Ruff!” She hears Solis bark out, she can tell Solis is feeling her emotions clearly, as the wolf look alike starts walking further into the garden. Taking careful steps so that she doesn’t land her paws too deeply in the mud as she seems to follow her nose as the sniffing gets loud enough to make her aware of it. She wonders what Solis actually smells, she doesn’t think she has any links active to Solis that could be related to scent. Or maybe it is another link that is too subtle for her to notice? It took them only a minute to be in the corner of the garden as it isn’t as large compared to the her own, and sees Solis sniffing at some kind of bush with berries? “Solis, no!” She says quickly when the wolf looked like it was going to bite in one after rubbing her head against the bush.

The type of berries hanging on the plant makes her think they are more of a poisonous kind to both humans and most other animals if they aren’t birds. Maybe the scent attracted Solis? Regardless. “Solis, best get away from it, if your hungry I can give you something else later.” She says while pushing Solis away from the plant. This one as well doesn’t look all that good, cutting away the bad branches, and fluffing up the leaves so to say, would likely make it look perfect again, but she isn’t certain what Solis intends to do with any of the weird orange berries hanging on it should she get ahold of some. “Let’s go to that part, hmm?” She murmurs gently to Solis while pushing her away from the bush. Herding her to a different corner of the garden that allows her to better watch what Solis is doing, and starting to work on the plants and bushes there.

Any flowers that look wilted get to be carefully cut away from the rest of the flowerbeds, and with any of the bushes that look like they could use some sprucing up she makes certain they start to look good. Plucking any of the leaves of it that are old and still hanging on the branches even after the winter has passed. Throwing everything on the ground in a pile whenever possible, she can always gather everything up later. She also makes sure to keep a careful eye on Solis location at all time, seeing her sniff loudly at some of the scents that seem to drift by her, making her tense in case Solis decides to investigate and eat anything she shouldn’t. Still, by the end of at least half a hour she is done sprucing up one corner of the garden, she’d only need to use the rake on the ground to gather the mess she made into one pile, and then continue with the other three corners, but she feels confident that with the rate it is going, it will be done pretty soon.

“Stay here Solis.” She says in a firm tone while looking at her companion, seeing her head turn towards her, and away from one of the bushes she had been working at, with her own eyes, and seeing in Solis vision as well that she is looking at her. Holding up a hand in a ‘stay’ position, she hopes Solis at least gets the general idea of it as she backs away. Carefully making her way towards the wall she has her larger tools settled, she shouted a, “No Solis! Stay!” out loud when she noticed from Solis vision that it was moving, only when she did that, did it stop. “Good girl.” She says, now calmer. Glad at least that Solis is somewhat listening to her tones on what she shouldn’t be doing. Picking up the rake, she goes right back to her previous spot, scratching Solis behind the ears when she gets near her companion enough to do so while starting to rake the ground with her tool to gathering everything she had thrown on the ground in one big pile.
