Nadia was not opposed to being landed on by a jibiji. To the contrary, she was delighted - her goofy smile returned, and she lifted a finger to gently tickle under Wisteria's chin, if such a motion was allowed. Any sign of discomfort from her would be heeded. "I... she smells nice." It sounded like a silly statement, and she glanced sheepishly at Jewel. "I... I mean, her plumage. Did you bathe her in something? It is delightful..." The ohou pup could smell it too. As he worked his teeth on her collar, his nose began to wiggle; his tiny sniffs had his head tipping back to try and establish the source of the scent. Mmm, yummy! A snack! "Well... I suppose if you insist, then you are welcome to stay and help me..." She didn't sound sure, and she wasn't going to hold it to him if he changed his mind. One hand waved towards an area thick with bushes and grass. "I am doing some weeding in this patch..." [10] [Black Bones - 10]

Having a light step and a camouflaging pattern, the massive bug makes its way along in a trundling manner, almost completely un-noticed by anyone not purposly seeking out a Golossle, and itself was oblivious, far more attentive towards the plants and directions in which its antenna leant forward; first towards a scent one way, and a different one in another direction. It did trundle closer though, catching a whiff of something new and different. Oh! This was quite a busy area, and after a look around once- then twice- yes, there weren't any flowers in the immediate vicinity..oh bother...

"Right? It's pretty great," Jewel laughed. "You expect animals to stink, but she's like... a dessert. Sometimes I just wanna sniff her." Wisteria was more than happy to allow the stroking, and cooed low in her throat, tipping her chin to give the woman better access. Yes, this new friend would do nicely! Anyone who gave her scritches was a top-tier individual in her book. Weeding wasn't a glamorous job, but it wasn't difficult. The fae had expected to hear something more complicated; he smiled and shrugged, hoping to ease Nadia's concerns. "No worries, Red. We've got this. It'll get done a lot faster if we... uh..." It was hard not to get distracted by the appearance of an enormous bug. Just by chance, he'd been glancing towards the area the golossle was approaching from, and found himself staring right at it once its face appeared through the grass. "Don't mean to panic you, but you've got a bug problem..." [11] [Black Bones - 1]

Korack was practically stumbling out of the confines of Nadia's jacket in search of the yummy smell. What was it...? Nadia noticed his head was tipped towards Wisteria and smiled, bringing her hand down again to soothe over the puppy's head. "There, there. Hush, now," She murmured, letting him sniff at the finger that had petted the jibiji. "I know, isn't it wonderful? No surprise that clever nose of yours could smell it!" Admittedly, Jewel's following statement came as a surprise. A bug problem? There was no arguing that there'd be insects hiding in the overrun greenery, but problem was a harsh word-- oh. When she looked up from her ohou, she realised nigh immediately what was being discussed - a golossle trundling nearby. "I... this is not mine..." Was it lost? It wasn't being aggressive or ruining anything, so perhaps it was domesticated, but there was no one else nearby. "Not yours either...?" [12] [Black Bones - 2]

"Nothing to do with me. Never seen it before in my life," Jewel confirmed. "It's pretty sick, though. Look at it! Those spots are cool as hell. I've never seen a golossle that looks like that." To be fair, he'd only seen one golossle ever, and it was not at all as docile as the one picking through the weeds. It was shaped differently too, he was pretty sure; the mean one had been spikier, and not half as elegant. "You gonna help us do some weeding, buddy?" He called out to the bug. Wisteria looked over too, twittering her interest - there were plenty of new things to see in this garden, and it was fun! She hopped down from Nadia's shoulder to the fence post again. The golossle turned its head towards them and stared blankly. "Uh... sorry! Didn't mean to interrupt you, there... carry on!" A master beast tamer, indeed. [13] [Black Bones - 3]

Well, Nadia was baffled. If the bug definitely had nothing to do with Jewel, and there was no one else in the vicinity, she could only assume that it was wild - but where to go following that conclusion was a mystery to her. Should she try to make friends? There was no problem with it staying in her garden if it felt comfortable, but she wasn’t sure if it would become territorial if they didn’t get introduced to one another. “It is very pretty, and large,” She said with a breathy laugh. It was barely afternoon and the day had been packed full of surprises. “I suppose it has gotten lost. I do hope no one is missing it…” Korack was none the wiser to Nadia’s concerns. He was more worried about nudging over the skin exposed by her shirt, wondering where the good smell had gotten to. He wouldn’t give up that easily! [14] [Black Bones - 4]

Jewel was kinda endeared by Nadia’s worrywart ways, even if they were alien to him. He was so laid back most of the time that he was flat, so having a golossle arrive to crash the party was nowhere near enough to stress him out. All he could think about was wanting to say hi to it. “Let it hang out with us! It’s not gonna bother anyone. It might help get rid of the weeds!” He said. Wisteria hopped along the fence down towards the patch where the bug was rummaging, wanting to get better acquainted. “You got any spare gloves, Red? Don’t wanna get stung by anything.” Let it never be said he was a priss. He wanted to suit up and get protected before diving in, which by all accounts was a good practice to adhere to. His jibiji was creeping ever closer to their visitor, twittering all the way, though it didn’t look interested in her at all. [15] [Black Bones - 5]

Spare gloves? Nadia worried at her bottom lip. It hadn't been at the top of her list of priorities when she'd set out that morning, but it probably would've been a wise move to have a backup pair, even if Jewel hadn't turned up. That was something to pack away in her satchel when she got home. "Ah, I don't believe so... you are welcome to use mine, if you'd like," She said, already moving to pull one off. "You are doing me a favour, after all..." Korack was becoming awfully wriggly. The ohou was still quite young to be stumbling around in the undergrowth, but if he was getting uncomfortable, she couldn't confine him to her shirt forever. Maybe if she set him down close to them, it would be okay. The pup was scooped out and placed on a soft patch of earth, which he immediately began to snuffle at. [16] [Black Bones - 6]

"No, you keep 'em. You can nurse me back to health if something gets me, okay?" Jewel beamed a bright smile at her. "Be gentle with me." He'd leave her brain to concoct whatever imagery it liked to go with his words. His focus was getting stuck into the dense patch of weeds, and grasping just above the roots of a thick bundle. "Here we go... hyup!" He put his back into the pull, but dang, those plants were tough. There was barely a fraction of movement from them! "What the hell? Are these things glued into the earth or what? C'mon..." It might've been wiser to bring a critter that could've eaten it all away, like their new golossle friend. Instead, he had Wisteria, who had given up harassing the bug to sit on the fence post closest to the fae's struggling form. Her twitter to him almost sounded amused. [17] [Black Bones - 7]

Nadia didn't know much about Jewel's gardening prowess - or lack thereof - but she somehow hadn't expected him to have no idea whatsoever. He had never struck her as one for manual labour, but face to face with how clueless he was, it was hard to decide whether to laugh or lament. "Well, you are trying to pull up too many at once..." She moved in closer, and Korack sprang to follow at her heels, his tail pointing straight upwards. "If you grasp a few at a time, you will find it far easier. Allow me..." She took up her own much smaller bundle, held firmly halfway down the stems, and pulled. The plants came free of the earth, scattering soil around her feet. Her ohou bounced forward to try and catch the falling dirt. "Like so. Plus, try not to grip too tightly... your hands will get stiff and sore." [18] [Black Bones - 8]

Jewel watched, and hummed. Yeah, that made sense. Luckily for everyone involved, he was a receptive learner, and was quick to take her advice, dividing his chosen patch into smaller bites to remove them. When the first bundle was clean of the earth, he spun to show Nadia. "Hey, check it out, Red! I did it!" He waved the roots, sending dirt flying towards her and undoubtedly landing on her. "Oh, sorry. Messy work, huh!" All the messier while he was around. Wisteria was quicker to notice the puppy now that it was out of hiding, and craned her neck to look down at him. What a funky little thing. She hopped down from fence slat to slat, approaching the floor, until she was close enough to step down onto it. Then, she waddled over to investigate further. "So, a little birdy told me..." The fae leaned towards Nadia conspiratorially. "You've been running around with a guy." [19] [Black Bones - 9]

Korack's nose wiggled. There it was again, that delicious smell! He'd lost it for a while, but now it was coming back, and he was going to get it! His head turned in the direction it was coming from, only to be met with something coming towards him. The nice smell... was a thing? Flummoxed by this, he plopped down into a sit. Nadia was equally confused and startled, but not by Wisteria. It was Jewel's words that took her by surprise enough to make her stumble with the next bunch of weeds she pulled up. "Wh-- a guy?" Red flooded back to her cheeks, and she furrowed her brow, suddenly very interested in the blades of grass around her boots. "I... I do not run around with any men, I have no idea what you mean--" Except she did, when it hit her square in the face. "Ah... I suppose you mean Sarv." [20] [Black Bones - 10]

"Sarv?" That was a hell of a name. "Is that what you're calling him? Give me all the details, Red. Stat." Wisteria didn't know what to make of the roly-poly puppy advancing on her. She rustled her feathers, puffing them out a little in an effort to look bigger; she was just a little thing, being a jibiji, and didn't want to be eaten any time soon even if she smelled delicious. Jewel hadn't actually seen the guy they were talking about. Not properly, anyway. He'd caught a glance of her on the street, and knew it to be a confirmed sighting because of her unmistakable bright hair - he'd been shocked to see her with another person, let alone what had looked like a man from the back. Still, it was his sworn duty to annoy her about it. If he was going to pull weeds for her, she could feed him gossip. [21] [Black Bones - 11]
