The human was wondering if perhaps some of the houluh matronne they chose to breed were really the pup-having kind. Of course, their decision to breed Cozette had been helped along by the fact that she was great friends with Selene, another matronne that was also bred around the same time and did quite well enough to be the nurser of all of the pups regardless of Cozette's inability to nurse pups. It was just as well, then, that Morgan had decided finally to breed Mink. After all, if Cozette's offspring had wound up find and not quite as anxious as she, perhaps Mink's offspring wouldn't inherit her snappish and rude personality.
The heritability of personality traits in houluh was heavily suspect, to begin with, but Morgan was anything if not a thorough researcher and breeder. However, this decision was going to have to be made in favor of breeding her regardless; the price of her obtainment had a sidement that required Mink to be bred back into Natural's breeding pool, in addition to the payment.
Morgan walks Mink to the breeding center at the end of a leash, and needless to say, the spotted hound is NOT happy with this.

Jack patted her head for a moment with a frown, she was headed to another Houluh breeding with Heathen, breeding to Morgan's Mink, who she had traded to them awhile back for a favor or two, and this was part of the favor. A sigh ripped through her, she wasn't sure she was up to this, but hey, getting a baby out of it made it a little easier to get through it. Heathen trotted ahead of her toward the Center, and she wondered what was going to happen between them, what had she grown up to be like anyway? Hopefully Heathen could handle her, but he was an odd one at that. She scratched the back of her head, her hair tumbling down to her shoulders until tomorrow, and watched as Heathen reached the door of the Center and just started barking. Another sigh escaped her, she wished he would behave himself once. Opening the door, she stepped inside and looked around as Heathen raced throughout the waiting room.

Morgan had never really heard much about the patronne that was chosen for today. They were a little nervous and a little interested in finding out what he was like, especially since poor Mink was sort of an ass. Morgan looked over her and didn't dare reach out to pet her. On one hand, the roan on her coat had produced a lovely, clear set of what looked to be spots (Morgan might have believed she was dalmatian if not for the fact that there was obvious roaning on her belly...) but she was one of those 'look, but don't do a whole lot of touching' kind of houluh, that was for sure. The human catches just the back-end sight of what has to be the owner of Natural's walking in with what looks to be a white houluh with some blotches on him. The human stepped up their pace and entered the breeding center just as the door closed (forcing them to have to grab it to reopen it).
Mink stopped dead in her tracks, her nose so high up in the air that it had to be intentional. Snooty creature!

Heathen raced around the building, getting Jack some raised eyebrows in her direction, and all she could do was sigh and finally call him over to her. He barked at her and growled low for a moment, but trotted over to her and plopped down at her feet, pouting a little as he laid there, wondering what the Matronne would look like this time. Of course he'd been bred before, so he knew what this place was, but at the moment he didn't know what was going to happen. Jack turned her head when she heard the door open again and smiled, waving at Morgan as they walked in with their Matronne. "Hey Morgan, how's it going?" she asked as she filled out some paperwork. It was all alright in the end of it all, she knew they would mesh well, looks wise at least, and she stared at Mink as she wondered what to do about things.

Morgan was a little bit surprised to hear the voice, even though they knew it was coming. These sorts of days plagued them sometimes, where every little thing made them jump a tad. Luckily they were able to keep from outright jumping, and simply turn, coffee in hand, and raise up a few fingers in a greeting. After taking a quick sip, they nodded. "Well enough, I suppose. 'bout y-you?" Morgan asked. Small talk, check, not seeming too out of place, check. Morgan was doing well, despite having one of 'those' days. Mink was behaving at least a little bit, mostly because she wasn't super impressed with her surroundings. She wasn't super impressed with anything, ever, to be fair.
"I've gotta warn ya, uh, Mink is a little bit snoody." A little bit, huh? That's probably unfair to Jack. "Okay, a lot snooty." The human admitted, looking over the houluh's pretty spotted coat. A real shame.

"Oh alright, it's good to see you," she said with a smile before handing over the paperwork. They were both first generation Houluh, though Mink was brought forth with a Fidelity token Jack had turned in. When Morgan had seen her, though, Jack knew that they would take better care of her than she would at the moment. Jack pushed a hand through her hair and smiled at the Matronne, wiggling her fingers at her for a moment in greeting before looking down at the Houluh at her own feet. Heathen's tail was going a mile a minute, but wasn't getting up just yet, he was still waiting for Jack to release him a bit, even though he was ready to get going and meet the Matronne. "Heathen... is a heathen. Hopefully they'll get along well enough. He's trained, he just chooses not to remember it sometimes," Jack told them with a scowl on her face for the Patronne.

It seemed like everyone was having an off day today. That was fine by Morgan, usually Jack was quite talkative, and it was weird to see otherwise this time, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Conversation was especially rough on Morgan, so they had come prepared this time. They nodded to Jack, keeping quiet, and then took the paperwork as it was offered to them. They answered the questions in their usual sloped, left-handed, looping script. They weren't really the biggest fan of the kinds of pens used in the breeding center, but they would live, they supposed. Mink stared at the wiggled fingers while Morgan was otherwise preoccupied, and turned her nose up at them. Then, she sent a glare to the other houluh. What was HE doing here, anyway? She wasn't used to being around houluh too much. She didn't really like the houluh much at home, either. Save for Cozette.
Morgan sat up straight, finished with the paperwork, and turned towards Jack. "Oh I believe it... Goodness, we m-may have a tough pair with us, today."

Jack pushed her hair back and leaned against the counter, wondering what would happen if they didn't breed. All that work for nothing would be a shame, but... it could certainly happen, she figured. Oh well, whatever happened, would happen, and she wondered if she should be more talkative. Morgan wasn't a chatty person though, so it surprised her once they started to talk again. "Yeah, this could be difficult, I think. But that's fine I think, they'll get there, it might just take a little longer with these two," she commented, eyeing Heathen as she walked over to a chair and sat down. Heathen crawled over to Mink and barked at her, tail going furiously. He didn't care what she was like, she was kinda pretty at least! The other one had been pretty too, so he knew it was going to work out between them, it had worked before and all that, right?

Morgan hadn't had a houluh refuse to breed yet, not even Nico- who Morgan knew was really at odds with being a grown hound for a while there. However, if any of Morgan's houluh might just refuse, it was going to be Mink. She was a contrarian, that little beast! Morgan couldn't help but note that it was probably her that was both their least and most favorite. Definitely the prettiest coat in existence, but also the ugliest attitude a houluh could probably have. She had been hell to train. "I uh, hope you're right." Morgan said. They stood back and away a tad, not up against the counter, instead sipping on their coffee. It was really good while it was still hot. By the end of today though, they might just need a stouter drink. Mink really was that hard to deal with most days.
At least Mink's ire was more focused on the patronne today as opposed to Morgan. She heard the bark and then glared the male down. How DARE you? Who do you think you are? She sniffed the air to get a better idea of who he was. She finally furrowed her brow, almost humanlike in expression. Do I -know- you from somewhere?

"Everything'll work out, it always does, doesn't it?" she teased a little, leaning back in her chair as Morgan leaned on the counter. It wasn't like it was a busy day in the Breeding Center or anything, so they didn't mind if the two of them and their Houluh took up some room, she figured. At least they wouldn't until the customers started coming in. Watching as Heathen barked again at the Matronne and then pawed at her a little, she smirked. He definitely wanted to be recognized, it seemed, so like him to want to be the center of attention.
He yipped a little and tilted his head, sitting up so he could look at her a little closer, Her Kennel! Barking again, he lunged forward to lick her cheek, excited that he remembered where he knew her smell from, and it didn't seem to bother him that she probably didn't want anything to do with that kind of affection.

The human had to admit that they didn't really feel much like things always came out. They had some rather painful memories of things not working out, in fact. They couldn't help but wince just thinking about some of it. It really didn't help that it was one of those days that they just didn't feel all that great on. Morgan stood there for a moment, a little bit confused, but snapped out of it rather quickly. Things were a tad off today. They wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the week was going to be off, for them, as well. These kinds of things happened. "I guess so?" The human said. Perhaps it would be best if they sat down, as well. The human moved over to a chair and sat down, a chair away from the other human.
This patronne was loud, wasn't he? Mink watched him from the corners of her eyes. Oh. That explained it. She did used to live somewhere else, back when she was a young pup. Well. The patronne must have been a yippy thing back then, as well. The lick was completely unwarranted, and caused her to stiff-leg back up. Oh, Oh goodness, you are going to mess up my fur! She huffed.

Truth be told, however, Jack hated the silence, unless she was actually by herself, especially when there was something to do around them. She wanted to make sure Heathen and Mink were going to be okay, but that wasn't something she could really do. Of course they would be alright, too, they could take care of themselves. A frown crossed her face as she thought for a little while, and then finally spoke up, "How are the recent pups doing?" That should be a tame enough conversation, she figured, right? Her own were doing well, but... that was fine all the same.
He smirked a little and licked at her again, not caring if he hit or missed. Where's the fun in THAT? he asked, sneering a little as he asked it, wondering what her problem was. It wasn't his fault he was awesome, now was it? Preening a little, he hoped she would see him to be amazing as well, because, well, he was.

Morgan was enjoying the quiet, but also wasn't sure how it was gpomg woth the other party. Morgan was one of those people that could probably go several days without talking to anyone outside of their estate, which most people would probably consider a flaw! However, they did know that other people tended to enjoy conversation, and they had come up with quiet a bit of conversation to use just in case they needed to. "Ah, they are doing well! T-they are a little slow-going, with training." Morgan admitted. "I think I've n-needed a little break recently." They wanted to work with Valentine, next! "Valentine is probably t-the one I'll be working on next." The human admitted. "How about you?"
The patronne was not too horrid, but Mink wasn't even sure why they were here. She was too proud to look at Morgan with a questioning gaze, and instead simply focused on the patronne. In... Keeping my fur clean? She asked, feeling a little afronted. It sure made sense, the patronne didn't seem super... Ah, put together. It was somewhat cute. But only somewhat! She wouldn't admit it!

"That's great!" Jack told them with a smile before thinking of her own Houluh. Truth be told, she needed a break too, honestly from everything, but she couldn't afford to do that. It was a shame, really, but there wasn't much she could do about it at the moment. "I think I need a break from them as well, it's so time intensive," she told them with a little frown on her face. There wasn't much she could do about it at the moment, but that was fine at the same time. All was going to work out, but she had to stop adding to her collection, she figured. Not that this was helping...
Heathen smirked, a very human like gesture as he flipped his tail at the Matronne playfully. You gotta get dirty sometimes, that's when it's fun, he told her, and if he had the ability to wink, he definitely would have.
