After I made my first trade and found out how the place operated, I took the time to come look around now and then. This place was like a hoard of its own with its many trinkets laying about. I had a lot of respect for the thing in the cloak for its ability to collect rare objects. I was pleased with the thought that some of them could be mine. Still, I was reluctant to give up too much of my own personal collection in exchange. It was a delicate balance, and I had to wait for just the right thing to come along.
Normally, I did not spent too long looking at creatures over gemstones, but this one caught my eye. It was a beautiful sparkling creature with a wispy, starry pattern in its fur. It reminded me of the night time sky and all of those years I spent plotting constellations, and most importantly, it reminded me of my own sparkling scales. I had to have it. I sought out the thing in the cloak and pointed at the starry creature. "This one, it's for sale, yes?"
The Trader raised their chin when the Tat-Lung entered their vicinity. Interesting. Normally such a creature came in the company of a more common speaking race, but here this one was, walking and talking like any man. Fair enough. If it had things to trade and means to negotiate, then The Trader had no issue. So long as it had enough things to trade, that is. The Trader turned to look at the Sjurkaru when the customer pointed it out and nodded. "It is available. For trade." He said, not mincing words.
I was pleased to hear that the creature was available. I wondered what the thing in the cloak might want for it. I had to think it would be more expensive than the little trinkets I had traded for in the past. It was a living thing, after all, and one so uncommon that I was unfamiliar with it. Was it even a creature made by the labs? I would have to do some research, but first I had to acquire it.
I brought my largest pack with me and stuffed it full of things I might want to trade. Among them were mostly flowers and other organic things I had come across. I didn't have much use for them other than as pet food, so I dumped them onto a nearby table, arranged them neatly, and indicated them with my claws. "I have these freshly harvested plants," I explained. "Would these be enough?" There were about twenty or so items, depending on how the flowers were counted.
The trader swept over to the table and examined the plants. Hm. They were indeed all fresh, and ripe to boot. High quality. He could accept these. He gave a single, silent nod and swept his arm over the table, taking the garden items away. Then, he pulled a key out of his sleeve. It was small and unassuming, but the Tat-lung could likely guess what it meant. He handed it to Star and gestured to the cage with the beast in it. She could take it from here.
