They were pointing out to another pathway, one that curved close to this one until it was about thirty feet away before arching back into the night. It was lined with its own lights, one of which Langley was pointing at now. At first it was nondescript, just another part of the environment they were in, but as Fiera leaned in and squinted she realized something odd about the lamp that Langley was so insistent she look at. It looked like... there were lights floating around it. A lightbulb flashed above her head- or should she say, a glowmoth. She scooped Langley up again and planted a kiss on the top of their fluffy brown head. "Oh, don't you have BRILLIANT little eyes, my friend!" She said while laughing, and Langley looked at her with a surprised but not displeased face right back, their bright green eyes wide in surprise.

Fiera whipped her net out of her bag along with an unfoldable cage. She whipped the velcro snap holding it shut off and it popped into shape. She handed the cage to Langley, who she was sure would appreciate the glowmoths more than her. The harachiu accepted it, though it was clear they were still a little bit confused about what was going on. After all, they had only pointed out the pretty lights- they had no idea what all this was about with Fiera's reaction to them. Still, they seemed happy to be able to help as they rarely saw Fiera this enthusiastic... or was the word 'manic'. Fiera giggled devilishly as she trotted off of the path, stepping into the tall grassy field between the two footpaths. "Come on Langley, keep up!" She called over her shoulder as the harachiu tried to make their way through the tall grass.

It was pretty difficult considering that the grass came up to their chin (as opposed to halfway up Fiera's calf) and they were holding a butterfly cage about as big as them, but they managed to toddle after Fiera regardless, not wanting to lose track of their owner. Fiera couldn't be stopped at this point, and made a beeline toward what she knew had to be the glowmoths. After all, what other animals 1. Glowed, and 2. Had a tendency to fly around streetlights? She certainly knew that fireflies didn't. So these would be her prey for the night. As she came closer, their shapes became more apparent and it was clear that these were definitely not fireflies or moths. They resembled moths in a way, with their puffy limbs and pretty wings, but the end of their fur covered abdomens blinked intermittently with a rainbow of different colored lights.

Even if Fiera had never seen a glowmoth before, it wasn't hard to guess that this was what she was looking for. They glowed, they were moths, end of story. "We found 'em, Langley!" She giggled as the harachiu set down the cage next to the lamp post. Now they just had to catch them. Well, it shouldn't be too hard. Fiera crouched down, her ears pressed back and her eyes wide. She wasn't that much of a cat, but she still had those old instincts. When a glowmoth dipped particularly low in its orbit around the lamp post, she launched herself upward. The sudden movement caused Langley to stumble back in surprise and hide behind the cage again, only peeking out to see what the result was. She reached her net up- and just barely brushed by the glowmoth. When she landed, she checked her tool- sure enough, she had come down empty handed.

Thankfully, Fiera was one of those people who, when they failed right off the bat had a tendency to get angry and determined as opposed to giving up. She rolled up her sleeves and Langley receded even further, knowing that this probably wasn't good. She curled up again like last time and launched again, this time even higher than before. She was sure that if there was anyone else out this time of night watching her she would look like an idiot- but dang, if that extra burst of rage didn't do the trick. When she landed and slapped the net against the ground she counted not one, not two, but three glowmoths trapped in its mesh. She smiled triumphantly and gently moved the net over the cage so she could put the glowmoths in it. Langley's eyes widened as the moths fluttered down into the belly of the cage and they were entranced, just like before.

With Langley now thoroughly enjoying their 'cage manager' duties, Fiera turned back to the lamp post, ready to take more 'scientific samples'. After a few minutes, the butterfly cage was filled with nearly a dozen glowmmoths, the majority of the flock before the rest disbursed into the woods. With the cage full, Fiera decided to call it a night and declare the quest done. She looked at Langley affectionately as they walked back home, where Fiera would turn the glowmoths in in the morning. The insects crawled over the interior of the cage, blinking brightly as Langley stared at them with that same love and wonder that they had for the glowing flowers they found earlier that night. Fiera was glad that this turned out well. They certainly felt closer than before, and it looked like Langley had a new appreciation for nature- something that they had never gotten to experience before. And Fiera? She was getting a fat stack of quest points.
