After last month's debacle, Renathan was not actually keen on starting another quest so soon. Really, any day was too soon at this rate. That elderly woman with all the bonsai trees had been a nightmare and a half in his opinion, and he was half afraid that he'd go back to the quest board and find her waiting there again with tea and whatever else she could find to torture him with. Worse, his body hadn't taken to the tea well last time anyway and he'd been uncomfortable in his belly for days. What had this woman even put in his tea? He shuddered just thinking about it. So this time he brought Lisle, knowing that Lisle was really just a proud but otherwise really laid back balgor that wouldn't really hurt a fly if he didn't have to, specifically because he knew that Lisle looked scary to anyone that wasn't privy to the knowledge of the fact that he was a lazy 'lion'.

Balgor tended to look very ferocious in general, even if they weren't quite ferocious in personality, so Renathan knew that a VERY LARGE balgor on -fire- was probably going to make it even better in effect. Renathan walked alongside him feeling a ill at ease, but he knew that eventually he would have to do this anyway. Doing Quests was not only a good hobby in general that helped the community (Renathan's actual reason for doing it) but also a little too lucrative to really pass up. He had a lot of animals to feed, after all, and always seemed to get more regardless of whether or not that was a good idea. "Well Lisle, we're almost there." Renathan said, giving him a good pet on his back. "How are you holding up on the leg?" Renathan said, giving Lisle's back leg a quick glance as they walked. He held it just above the ground, not quite putting his weight on it.

Some days were better than others, for Lisle's leg. Renathan had no doubt in his mind that Lisle would have been unable to walk at all by now had he not had his species changed via that potion. Thankfully, Lisle was now quadrupedal instead of bipedal, and it made all the difference for his permanent leg injury. Thank goodness Renathan had less and less guilt about this nowadays. Things happened, and not everything could easily be controlled. He had to learn to just go with the flow. Speaking of that, Renathan thought as his mind wandered, what is going on around the quest board right now? The mammalian gave pause, tail tips flicking back and forth as he stood next to the Balgor a good pace's distance away from the edge of what appeared to be some kind of gathering. The people were crowded around the quest board- or no, around a person standing in front of the quest board!

Lisle rumbled with amusement at Renathan's quick cycle through emotions. Concern, confusion, slight aggravation, and then quickly burst into bright curiosity. At first he had been sure someone had been hurt, and then he wasn't sure what was going on- at that point he had been concerned as to whether or not he was going to be able to get a quest this month, and that had twisted into frustration that these people couldn't have gathered literally anywhere else that existed as opposed to in front of the quest board itself. However, he soon realized that he didn't even know what the gathering was about, so he forgot all about the anxiety he had felt over the possibility of the elderly woman being here again this month, and instead tried to find a close enough spot to be able to hear the individual speak. Lisle, however, was indeed big and intimidating, and lots of people grumbled and moved out of the way.

That was where Renathan realized that perhaps he was making a bit of a mistake, doing this. He hung back instead, backing away. "C'mon Lisle, I'm curious but folks are scared of you." He murmured to the balgor, who simply rumbled in response, a friendly noise. Of course, to folks that did not know Lisle, it was pretty terrifying. Renathan had shot himself in the foot, for this one, he realized. The meeting seemed to go on, and the speaker was saying something. At first, the meeting was quiet, but then people began cheering and holding up... Bug nets? Now this was curious, wasn't it? Renathan watched as the group dissipated, but all seemed to be going in the same general direction. The individual that was speaking looked like some kind of a researcher. They had a pin on their lapel that was shaped like a ladybug. How odd?

Now who could this be? Looks like you'll have to stick around for a bit to find out!

Though Renathan was curious enough, his first inclination was to go around this individual and check out the quest board. However, when he got close, with Lisle standing in place instead of following in any closer as he was bade to do, the individual cleared his throat as Renathan went to pass. Renathan was suddenly a little bit dumbstruck. "Uh, Yeah?" He says, trying to maintain friendliness. It was obvious that this individual wanted to say something to him or perhaps give him a flyer, and Renathan guessed that either of those things would be fine enough. He wasn't sure where to put his hands in order to receive one. 'We at the Labs City Insect Conservation Society would love to invite you to help with the conservation efforts of the very rare Glowmoth. Here is a flyer. We hope to see you there!' The individual says to him, giving him a flyer at the same time as he spoke. [6]

The Labs City Insect Conservation Society, huh? Renathan had not heard that one before! Of course he didn't know every single thing that went on around the Labs city, but the place had really started to glow up after he'd gotten here. When he first got here, he was a little shocked at the lack of technology that had been going on, but these days it seemed like other scientists were allowed to breathe, and come up with new techniques of study. Renathan smiled beneath his mask at the individual and waved at him as he left. The mammalian glanced at the quest board, and then down at the flyer. The quest board usually had all sorts of interesting things, but this seemed like it might be a little more active than the one last month, at least. He decided rather quickly on the course of action he'd take that day while he had the time.

The mammalian turned away from the quest board and to the balgor he had brought with him. "Well boyo, we may be in luck!" He said, as he began to walk that direction. The balgor had already stretched his front legs down into a yawn that somehow skirted just below the rumble of a lion's roar. "I found something that we may be able to do today without any worries, since I have the day off, and it's active! You need a good stretch, dontcha boyo?" Renathan asked. The balgor finished his yawn and stood up. Though he could speak through his collar of speech, the balgor tended to be fairly quiet and amicable. It was one of Renathan's favorite things about him. The balgor rubs his forehead against Renathan's palm, and Renathan scritched that place behind his ear that he liked and couldn't quite get to with that big ole mane in the way.

The balgor seemed amicable enough, but Renathan knew that he was going to have to watch his hind leg during the day to make sure that he was going to be okay- they'd go home as soon as he started having trouble. Renathan made sure to keep up with him getting exercise to keep him from getting that leg locked up, he still didn't want to push him too hard and make it any worse than it already was. After making sure that Lisle was going to be okay, the russet mammalian scoured the little flyer he had been given until he found out where he was heading towards, and then waved the balgor over. "Alrighty, looks like it'll be a good forty minute walk there..." He said, doing up the math in his head. Now, they were off! Renathan and the Balgor kept up with one another comfortably as they walked.

The walk was much less stressful today than the one that Renathan took last month. Not having an elderly individual talking your head off about the 'good old days' of a land that you weren't even native to was a big plus, at least to Renathan. The Balgor was always a very like-able companion. Renathan knew that he should probably do this more often with Lisle, instead of bringing untrained creatures with him. It often made these sorts of quests more difficult than they had to be. Lisle, of course, were generally amicable in general, even before he was properly trained. His training still wasn't completed, in fact! Renathan had completely forgotten that he needed to finish training the poor balgor. He must be feeling very bored, Renathan thought. Maybe he'd work on that after the quest?
The park that he found himself at was one that he'd walked past a few times, but had never went into.
