The catalog had come out, with the general changes and additions, and Ashe had eagerly awaited this month's supply. He'd noticed crystals were being stocked all the time now, and lately there hadn't been any crystals he could use, but this time... This time there was the mightiest of them all, sitting right there waiting for him. He hoped so, anyway. He was already a few days late and they might be out of stock by the time he got there. He tried to settle his nerves, his anxiety about making it in time. He wanted to run, the fight or flight reflex of excitement, but he controlled himself, watched his breathing, and walked through the city. It wouldn't help to run and look desperate, would it? He bade Inyala to stay out of sight, though she did come with him to the city. He caught glimpses of her as she followed, but at a distance. He trusted her to stay safe as he went inside.
"I would like to trade!" Ashe said. He had a baggie for the fish and the creature, and the shell and plant in their own protective coverings. "These, for a crystal and a vertebrae, if you please."
The trader looked over the items and fish carefully. The fish seemed to be in good health (Though that was admittedly hard to tell in a creature that looked like... that.) and the items were in good condition. These would be worth the items he was asking for, the trader thought. He nodded and took the items away before getting out the crystal and strange fossil. Still, he didn't push them over quite yet, waiting to see if there were any last-minute changes that Ashe wanted to make.
There were no changes Ashe wanted to make. The man was pretty stubborn and though he tended to make up his mind quickly, thus leaving room for error and recalculation, he also tended to stick with his decisions. In this case, he was only too happy to stick to his offer, feeling that he was certainly getting the better end of the deal. He scooted his items across the counter, gently, to indicate the trader should take them, while he simultaneously reached for the crystal and the bone. He wasn't sure what the bone did or what it had belonged to once upon a time; he just knew he wanted it. It was a bone. It had to be interesting. "Pleasure doing business with you," Ashe said, inclining his head in thanks. And also farewell. If there was nothing else required of him, he would take his leave. Though upon stepping outside, he would hastily slide the crystal into his pocket, so as not to invite any trouble on himself.
If I had a heart, I could love you, If I had a voice, I would sing. After the night when I wake up, I'll see what tomorrow brings.
