In order to compete in the Show Ring, reply to this post to put on your show! Include your pets' image and stats in your first post, as well as any items they're wearing, will be used in your performance, or the pet was groomed with. - At the bottom of your first post, please note which participation prize pet you would like! -
The show ring or arena can look however you like, and it's safe to assume staff could procure some extra embellishments if needed for your performance, or special accommodations for critters that require it. Use any of your pets' many abilities to show off for points and votes from the crowd! Pets may use moves that they don't know on command in the show ring; there's ways to prompt that untrained COD to breathe fire, right?
At the bottom of your show ring posts, please make note of what abilities, moves, and tricks were displayed, and if they are used on command or not! Otherwise they will not count towards your score.

Renathan was amazed whenever he found out that there were so many contestants for the agility run! Of course, he knew it probably had something to do with the Fidelity Sarane eggs. People were interested in those in a way that they'd perhaps never be interested in other prizes. He couldn't really say anything, of course, that's partially why he was here, too. It was their turn, soon enough, and the mammalian walked out to where the start of the agility run was. The run was fairly simple at Renathan's bequest, but it had a few areas that would allow Auburn to show off her flight skills. "Hello Everybody- here's Auburn the Izer, showing off her agility!" At this, Renathan patted Auburn, and coaxed her into the starting position. Then, he started with the commands! Auburn started off into a flat Dash, as Renathan told her to do. She dashed between several of the first few obstacles in the course, showing off her endurance.

Renathan continued to give Auburn the command for Dash until she made it most of the way through the obstacle course. Soon enough, Auburn was just about to the point of the course where she could fly. Renathan waited until the perfect moment to give her the command to do so, and then gave her a triple command- Flutter first. With that, Auburn immediately flapped her wings twice to hop up and then fluttered to hold herself in place, and then Renathan gave her another command, this one for Glide. The izer immediately flattened her wings out and folded the air up beneath them with a single flap, gliding to the next perch. As soon as she got there, Renathan ran her through dash again a few more times until she got to the next flight section.
Now it was time to finish this, and bring it on home! Auburn was given the command to Fly, and she took to the air.

It was the home stretch, and Renathan needed to give Auburn the best commands possible to ensure at least a little bit of success. He knew they wouldn't win, not with the wonderful competition that they had, but Renathan did want her to earn as many points as possible! He grinned beneath his mask, and then called out the commands that Auburn needed to truly command the sky. Renathan guided her through the first few flight tricks by alternating between giving her the dive command and a renewed fly command, so that she would go through what she needed to. For the finale, Renathan gave her the command to do a barrel roll, and watched with pride as the izer tucked her wings and throw herself into the roll, catching herself with ease afterward to continue the flight. Renathan gave her the command to land, and then called her to come to him.
"There we go, that's Auburn! Goodbye everybody!" Renathan said, taking Auburn away directly afterward. Well, that went decently well!
[3] - [Auburn Dives on Command, and Barrel Rolls on command. Then, Auburn Lands on Command and come to Renathan on Command.] (Done)

Having been forever since she had tried to compete in a contest, the theron asked one of the contest helpers on what sorts of props she could use for the work. Dune didn't understand all the 'human talk' so he paid more attention for the other humans and... not humans who had brought in either bigger or smaller creatures. Watching the enormaty of this giant aqua and green colored winged lizard (who was nothing like himself), a bug with a lizard person who made his scales stand on end. A very... feminine looking lizard being there, and things he would usually be eating. Like a thing on the ground with four legs, a cat, and a... bird. Inside his head Instinct and himself were having a cartoonish disagreement. Instinct's idea of a bird had two wings and two legs. What dune saw had four legs and two wings... like himself. Like the cat. Was it a bird? Any sort of prop as long as it was able to be cleaned up... So she asked for a few things to be brought in while the audience remained captivated by a bird doing aerial tricks. Sponge balls, a few weave poles, a wooden sarane dummy, and a large amount of ketchup. Yes, ketchup. Once the first contestant walked off, the contest helpers, looking at each other weirdly started hauling over the props in question. Ridelys followed them, trying to flatten her raised feathers in her hair. "Ladies, gentleman, I am Ridelys, and this is my dear friend, Dune-Eye. Sie, Dune. Come to me." The drake walked proudly onto the stage, trying not to puff out his chest too much. Was the feminine lizard watching? [Dune comes to Ridelys on command] 1 [Autumn red panda please]

The crowd looked at each other as she watched them, some audibly whispering. Was that drake both red and gold parentage? Wasn't that impossible? "Dune-Eye's a sight to see, isn't he. However he's different from other sarane. For my drake does not fly." She gives a slight tug on his his wingtip upwards and the drake carefully unfurls his wings up to show the stiff area of silver showing through the red. "He broke his wing when he was younger and has a metal rod replacement for one of his wingbones. He can't fly. But that does not mean my friend is useless in a fight. He's quite fast." She glanced at him. 'Ready to show them?' The drake looked ready. "Lets play tag!" She took off, and the drake dashes after her. Dune did prove to be quite fast, as he overtook his partner quickly. She repeated this back and forth three more times. Since she wasn't ready to do this initially, Ridelys needed a moment to catch her breath, but Dune's endurance showed through. He wasn't even winded, nosing her briefly to keep moving. But this was only the beginning. "Do you have any balloons?" she asked the helper by the stage. Balloons?! 2 [Dune dashes on command, and shows his Endurance]

"The ground here is much different then the pit sands, and so here we can show you how agile he is back and forth." she approaches the small amount of weave poles. Gently coaxing Dune to come examine the poles with a few choice growls. 'Follow me through these. Don't worry about bumping into the poles.' She had some fish in hand, and tossed it over her shoulder, where the dead fish landed wetly on the ground. "Follow me through the poles Dune." she started to back through the poles. A few boos came as both she and the tiger striped drake bumped repeatedly into some poles. "Give us some credit, I am doing this backwards and Dune's never seen weave poles!" Dune paused partway through the poles, glanced at the crowd and lifted his jowls to show his teeth a bit with a growl. "Nae Dune. Keep following me." It took a moment to pull his attention back and finally they made it through the poles. This would be something to practice later. He snatched up his fish and swallowed it with two bites. Mmm... 3 [Dune follows Ridelys on 'command' and tries to navigate the weave poles, and reacts to 'no'.

Next, she approached the wooden dummy, and pats the sturdy object. "I've hidden some fish in the belly of this dummy. Shred this Dune." She felt his reaction over the ribbon of mild confusion over not talking normal. 'They may freak out that I can talk normal to you. Just pretend they don't exist.' Don't exist huh. He didn't get that either. "Sank sarko." That sounded more familiar. He gave the dummy a smart smack across its chest. To the audience's shock, the dummy made an unusual noise and splashed Dune with a gracious amount of red liquid. Dummies don't bleed! He blinked, the familiar smelling liquid dribbling off his snout and his hide. Ech. Ketchup. She had a droppings eating grin on her flat face. Now that could be considered a scary sight, especially with those flat teeth. She stood up, tossed him another fish, and had some balls in her hand. "Think fast!" Sponge balls thankfuly made a noise and Dune evaded them with ease. He even swatted one away from himself with his tail, showing his bronze rudders. "Very good Dune! Very good!" he stood a bit taller, puffing his chest and looking very smug. Even dripping in ketchup. "For our last trick, Dune-Eye's got a very interesting ability he inherited a long time back, but we've never tested it in public." Taking the balloon offered, she started to rub it on the drake's wing. Confusion and a slight whine on what she was doing. Rub rub rub rub, went the squeaky thin rubber of the air thing. But he could feel something on the skin... and when she released the balloon, it stuck! Then poked him for good measure. A slight shock put her feathers on end, again. "He's electrically charged!" A smattering of applause. "Thank you!" She bows, and leads the drake off the stage at last. They would be cleaning him up to avoid waking up as a crusty ketchup. Ech. [Shred, Accept "blood"/scary sights, Danger Sense, and trying out Static touch. Static touch is not on command. ] 4 lv 61/loyalty 50? -empathic link get!- done

Soft-skins were very picky with their amusements. The quick, almost bloodless slaughter was adored by those who visited the pit, but those who swarmed in the contest hall would undoubtedly grow annoyed at any obvious sign of true discomfort, or anything in general not related to the title of the contest, from the bug she had brought in. Thankfully, with an emotionless face of chitin and staring eyes, there was little Amit could do to show any such discomfort. The way he stuck closely to Haix as they entered the stage could easily be taken for simple obedience or even shyness, surrounded as they were by bright lights and the shifting noises of the barely seen crowd. His twitch-stop walk was not uncommon to see in his smaller cousins, so there would be nothing strange there.
“Diz Amit.” Haix told the soft-skins, gesturing to the vespa that stood behind her, the creature using her slight body to block out the lights glaring down on the stage. He moved slightly as he heard his name, light catching on one of the false gems studding his forehead as he lifted himself into a stance that looked less like he was cringing behind her.
To the audience, there was a few seconds of silence as the ssashirk turned to face the vespa, their muttering easily covering the simple words of encouragement she gave him as she undid the knotted rope that held him to her. Threats would do nothing. Holding the now loose length of rope, she turned back to the crowd as she spoke loudly once more as she ordered Amit to fly, more for the watchers than the vespa. The sudden increase in volume, the change in tone from soothing to a bark of command, did not command so much as startle the vespa into flight.
His wings did not seem to flap so much as blur into nothingness as he left the ground, hovering above the ground as if he was being held upright by an invisible string. With his stinger hanging unpleasantly close to her back, Haix called out for him to fly again, and this time he took off into the open air of the stage. He first buzzed over the heads of the audience, as much to evade the bright lights directed at the stage as to simply see those who hid behind them. When the lights followed him there, he threw himself backwards, turning back to face the stage as he crossed the last of the audience's heads. He darted between roped bundles that hung from the ceiling, sometimes appearing as little more than a golden blur, unused props and weights moving gently in his wake.
She let him buzz around a little longer, then called out for him to land. He halted mid flight above her, wings still blurred, and gently descended to the stage beside her, so close that she could have reached out and touched him.
“Amit,” she said with a pat on his golden side, in case the soft-skins forgot him already. The lights did not stop him from standing up to his full height beside her this time, proudly buzzing his wings one last time as she slipped the lead back around his neck. Then they were off, leaving the stage open for the next act.
[Autumn red panda pachee please. Amit recognized his name, used fly and land on command. Done.]

Several of her competitors had finished already and it was now Fiera's turn on the show floor. She didn't have anything particularly fancy planned- she simply wanted to show off Tenmei's natural elegance. ...Also she didn't have anything else trained, and Tenmei wasn't the type for spontaneity. Still, it wasn't like they couldn't wow the audience anyway. Her lapis tat-lung was a beautiful creature, elegant and graceful- exactly what this contest wanted. After all, it wasn't a competition based off of pure speed, but agility. Fiera knew she had stiff competition so far, but was sure that Tenmei could beat out at least some of these people. She took a deep breath, and then stepped into the spotlight. "Ladies and gentlemen, it's so good to see you all!" She said sweetly before gesturing behind her. "Introducing to you all today- Tenmei the tat-lung! Come on out, dear!" She called, and the tat-lung came flowing out onto the show floor.

From there, Fiera held a finger up as she began backing away from her pet. "Okay Tenmei, stay there." She said. The tat-lung obeyed nicely, puffing out her chest so the audience could see just how beautiful she was. But that wasn't what they had come here for- they wanted to see some quick moves. When Fiera stopped, she waved Tenmei over. "Okay girl- run!" She called, and Tenmei was off like a shot. She had beautiful form, her whole body coiling up and lashing back out again like a spring, carrying her across the contest hall with surprising speed for such a long creature. About halfway across the floor, Fiera gave Tenmei another command. "Now, jump!" She called, knowing that Tenmei would know what to do. The tat-lung bunched herself up midstride and launched across the show floor, clearing easily twenty feet in a single effortless bound. Now that would be impressive to the judges, Fiera knew.
(Tenmei uses Stay, Run, and Jump on command.)

Finally the lapis tat-lung came skidding to a stop in front of Fiera with the crowd murmuring in pleasant surprise, only for the humanish to point straight up. "Alright Tenmei, fly!" She said, knowing that this would be the showstopper. And sure enough, without any wings Tenmei began rising into the air, zipping around in circles for all to see. This really was where tat-lung shone most, with their unique sinuous movements. Applause rattled the stands, and Fiera knew that her plan had worked. "Thank you, ladies and gentlemen!" Fiera said, giving a bow. Tenmei landed next to her and sat down proudly, wrapping her tail around herself in a loose coil. "I hope you all now know the TRUE meaning of grace! As for us- it's time go!" She said and sauntered off stage, waving at the kind folks behind her. Between the two of them, they were leaving with confidence.

Aster had been a little concerned about whether his entry for the contest would be thought of as strange when they signed up, but as it turned out he needn’t have worried on that account. There was a Vespa, and then a Tat-lung, of all things. He had always heard that the Tat-lung were a proud sort, but at least one had apparently been convinced to undertake this endeavor. Interesting, that. But then the Tat-lung and its companion were finished, and it was time for Aster and Avander to prepare to take to the stage, so to speak. Of course, first they had to wait for it to be rearranged to their specifications, which took a little time, but Aster spent it making sure that Avander was ready to go. {Are you sure you don’t want to put a ribbon in my mane?} Avander said. Aster couldn’t tell if he was joking or not, and it was far from the first time that Avander had raised this particular suggestion. (Autumn please)

But either way, he shook his head. “It’s not a beauty contest,” he said. “Not that I’d enter you if it were.”
{Spoilsport,} said Avander. But the Wiurn walked up to the starting position as the last of the event staff cleared away, head held high and looking the picture of easy confidence. Aster supposed he had a bit of showman spirit in him, unlike Grunty, who had run the endurance competition instead.
In contrast, Aster’s introduction was terse and businesslike. “This is Avander,” he said, omitting an introduction of himself altogether.
{Nervous, are we?} said the Wiurn, shooting him an amused look.
Aster resisted the urge to snort, and said, “His abilities can speak for themselves.”
On Aster's signal, Avander started off his run of the obstacle course that had been set up for him with an explosive dash. He put on a burst of speed as they approached a series of tall rocks.
(Avander uses Dash on command)

As he came up to them, Aster gave a different command. “Slow down into a run.” Avander’s pace slowed, and by the time he reached the rocks, he was going at a steadier pace. “Left,” Aster said, and without missing a beat, Avander swerved left. “Right,” Aster said just as Avander came to another rock. This time Avander swerved to the right. In this manner, Aster directed Avander through the copse of rocks.
Past that, there was a see-saw obstacle, “Faster,” Aster said, and Avander put on another burst of speed as he went up the ramp. Just when he reached the other end, Aster said, “Stop.” Avander stopped on a dime, balancing up at the top, and even went as far as to toss his mane as the ramp tilted under his weight, coming back down with him still on it.
{Now you’re just showing off,} Aster said.
(Avander uses Faster/Slow Down, Run, Turn Left/Right, and Stop on command)
