The clearing was Morgan's best ticket, and it worked. There must have been a billion of the little beasties in the field, blinking in every color known to man. Impi dropped her bone as her jaw slacked, looking at them. Could sarane even been shocked like that? Apparently so. The human felt a little hopeless, for a split second, upon seeing the sarane chick do this. It was horrible, what happened to Waar. How could they possibly do that to another? And they had so many drakes now... Impi would even have to be broke one day. They swallowed, and resolved theirself to do the best they could. For now, however, it was glowmoth grabbing time! The human wasn't sure why they wanted to remove these glowmoths from the breeding pool. Weren't they rare or something? Maybe they would be caught and released with trackers on them after being studied. [16]

That was what Morgan would do, at least. They were a scientist theirself, so they hoped that them catching these little creatures weren't going to hurt them ecologically. It was why they ignored their own garden while the creatures were there- not wanting to disturb them even though they were so annoying. Morgan urged Impi to pick back up her bone, and eventually had to hand the slimy thing back to her, which she finally snatched back simply because she thought that Morgan wanted it and was stealing it from her. How typical of a creature like this to be stingy like that. The human wiped the slobber off on the nearest grass, and then got to work. They made sure the hen was tied to a nearby sapling with a nice long lead to hopefully keep her from harassing it, and then began the arduous process of trying to catch the tiny flying glowmoths. It took Morgan thirty minutes of fruitless looking like an idiot in order to finally manage to capture a single glowmoth. Oh. This sucked, they decided. However, they were determined to capture as many as possible to bring them back, and hopefully get their quest points (why did they even care about this at this point? It wasn't like they needed the money) and then go home with as little trouble as possible. It was so muggy and hot outside that they had worked up a bit of a sweat, and that was frustrating all on it's own. The tiny creature was placed in a container, and then they checked to make sure that Impi was fine. She was still sitting there, chewing on that bone. At least they knew it wouldn't hurt her teeth... If she wasn't a sarane Morgan would be very concerned indeed. The chick had stayed in the correct spot thanks to the lead. [18]

The first glowmoth was deposited. It was a nice color, the human decided. However, they turned around after checking on Impi and depositing the glowmoth and decided to double their efforts. They had no idea how many of these dimunitive beasts needed to be captured, so they decided that they would try to bring in at least five. Five for one person should be enough, right? Five was pushing it, too. If these were that rare, it could seriously disrupt their breeding efforts and remove a sizeable amount of diversity from the breeding pool. The human told theirself that they would be caught and released, and then doubled their efforts anyway. It took much less time for them to manage the second glowmoth, though still more time than they would have preferred. They went back to put the glowmoth into the container, and then realized that there was another glowmoth on the outside of the container! [19]

It would seem that the glowmoths were drawing one another with their lights! The human wasn't really surprised after noticing it the first time. However, the human decided to capture two more, after putting the one that they had in the box, the one that was already there, and the one that the one that was already there had managed to draw there. Morgan decided that they wouldn't bother trying to catch to more, and one let them come to them. As soon as they got the five they desired to try to finish this with (they realized that if it wasn't enough they would have to come back!) they collected Impi and made their way through the conservation area with the container of moths. Impi was pretty tired by the time they got to the front, so Morgan was happy to offload the glowmoths and go home for the day. They were pretty beat too. [20] - [The pair goes home, for now at least]
