Morgan tried to ignore Squee a little bit. She needed to get used to Morgan, and at the very least get used to not being doted upon constantly. She would eventually become even worse of a little monster if they didn't work on this with her. "Shush now." Morgan tells her in a soothing voice. "Y-you are hungry, I know, but you've got to learn t-to chill." Morgan was planning on feeding her whenever she was quiet, hoping that she would learn to be more quiet.
Of course, Tailypo were smart, and made to be that way. However, Squee was still a baby, and a spoiled one at that! Morgan continued to play in the water for what had to be a half an hour before she finally seemed to get tired of screeching in Morgan's ears. Finally, some blessed quiet! Morgan grins, and then gives her a treat.

"Good job, Squee. Good." Morgan said to her, as they tossed the treat at her open maw. "Be quiet m-more." They said, half-pleading and half commanding in tone. Of course, this little bit of 'giving in' just made the tiny beast screech MORE because FOOD. Morgan looks up to the overcast sky, frowning to the world. "Ah, what have I made?" Morgan laments in an over-exaggerated manner, before giving Squee a small smile. "Ah well, w-we won't be out here much longer anyway." Morgan said. Of course, Squee mostly spent her days at the mansion chasing the robot butler around and begging for scraps that may or may not exist, but at least she wouldn't be in Morgan's hair as much. "W-we'll go home soon, give me a m-moment." Morgan tells her.
Another thirty minute passes, and Morgan catches something! ... It is a plant. Oh.

Another thirty minutes passes. As far as Squee is concerned, that might as well be a million years. She was HUNGRY and BORED and wanted OUT of this backpack -rightnow-. Morgan was trying their hardest to ignore her whenever she was doing something displeasing (Squee screeching like a banshee made that much more difficult to do!) but it wasn't working out all that well. Morgan does manage to catch a smaller fish, and something kind of odd looking in addition to that. They decided to keep all three, since they knew that this particular plant might have some kind of use in a tonic they were planning on working on later. "Y-you about ready to go, Squee?" Morgan asks her. She had not stopped screaming the entire last thirty minutes until Morgan spoke to her. She tilted her head, ears flopping for a moment with the movement of it. "Huh?" Morgan asks her, goading her.
The pair wind up leaving. Today was a bit of a bust, perhaps. Morgan just hadn't been anticipating all of this mud!
However, they hadn't realized that they were going to get stopped along the way...

Morgan hadn't really been able to secure the small fish that they had caught, and they weren't really paying attention thanks to mostly watching the still shrill-screeching Squee. Whenever they turned their head, they felt a furious flapping from within the bucket they had the fish placed in, and then felt a lightening sensation. They turned around and looked at the ground next to them, and there it went! Both Morgan and the suddenly silent Squee stared dumbfounded as the fish flopped across the ground, and then managed to get back into the river. Morgan blinks. Squee's mouth is open. A shrill wind blows through the trees on the opposite side of Morgan from the river. Morgan was absolutely flabbergasted. That had not happened before! Time to invest in a lock for their cooler so that this did not happen again. Morgan sighs. "I guess w-we'll need to stay for a little longer, at least."

Squee glares at Morgan for some reason that the human isn't entirely able to ascertain, and then erupts in what has to be the most horrid screech yet. "Goodness, Squee!" Morgan exclaims at her. "That is absolutely horrible, w-what have I unleashed upon the unsuspecting po-populace, huh?" They say to her, hands on their hips. "I wasn't gonna f-feed ya the fish anyway!" They made a wild guess at what she was so unhappy about. Squee of course didn't really understand. She simply looks at Morgan with an incredulous expression, if Morgan could call something like this species' facial expressions as truly expressive, and Morgan gives her a fake 'scowl'. "C'mon, let's catch something else." Morgan says, standing in the mud with their waders closer to the edge now. They planted their stance, to hopefully not fall in the slick dry-season mud.

Squee didn't seem entirely happy about this development. She wanted more treats! She snuffles into Morgan's neck for a moment as she tries to weasel her way out of the backpack to no avail. She finally gets aggravated and decides to try to bite Morgan's collar (thankfully she couldn't quite reach Morgan's shoulder or neck!). Morgan glances over their shoulder as they pull out the net again. "Don't do that!" Morgan says, pulling the collar away from her gently. "Gawsh, I-I-I can't go anywhere with you." They grumble as they have a collar in their hand on one side, and the net in their other. "Y-you are a mess and I'm gonna have to train you." Morgan says, mostly just trying to drown out the deluge of Squee's screeching as she tries to find the bag of Treats that Morgan thankfully hadn't put into the backpack.

This entire endeavor was probably a dumb decision, Morgan thought. They should have taken the time to take Squee out to the park and teach her something useful, but alas. Squee was probably going to be difficult the entirety of her baby stage, if what they had designed showed through in her slightly flawed state... Morgan works to try to catch something, but there isn't much to be caught in the river. The dry season was sometimes pretty hit and miss. Most of the 'cool stuff' was only in the river when the river was wide and deep enough to accommodate them, so they figured they wouldn't catch much. It sucked that they had lost the fish they had caught earlier! Morgan shivered slightly. The wind was starting to pick up; hopefully it wouldn't rain soon. Everything was already so waterlogged and horrible since the recent snowstorm. Morgan grumbles as Squee continues to sound horrible.

Time passes, and Morgan was finally able to spot something to possibly catch if they were lucky! Morgan wasn't the most avid fisherperson at all, but they were beginning to get a little better at it, so they knew to plant their stance after stepping one foot forward, and then they dipped forward (surprising Squee since the dip was very quick, and that quieted her down some due to the shock of it) and tried to catch the odd green critter in their net. The creature dodged out of the way, but Morgan had anticipated it, and quickly dipped again the other direction to get the net right where the creature was going to swim towards to get away. The strange creature now caught, Morgan plops it into the cooler they were carrying, and then puts away the net. "Now we're g-gonna go home." Morgan says to Squee, and they did (with Squee screeching the entire way).
