When it was time to go deep, Ophelia even stuck her face in to the water. At that sight Sevyrn had to stop for a moment and collect herself - it had been hard not to let out a hearty laugh at the site. Lotine were generally docile creatures and rather shy, so to see this one so interested in what Sev was doing was rather off-kilter on its own. "What do you think is so interesting" She asked, as she fished up a net full of settled leaves. Once she was happy with the state of the pond, she stopped what she was doing, offered a thank-you to the seryn inside of it, and then waltzed that cleaning net straight back in to the shed. What to do now? Sevyrn figured that it would probably be a good time to retire for the night. Offering Ophelia a wave good-bye she walked back in to her house.

Sevyrn spent time outside in her garden every day - often first thing, though sometimes not until later in the day. She preferred either of those time periods to working during the mid-day when the sun was at its' hottest. Today she chose to start first thing, with dawn's sunlight still peaking over the horizon. She hadn't meant to be up this early, but... well, it happened so she may as well just take it for what it was. After tending some of her vegetables she checked on the ones that had been destroyed the night before. Unfortunately she was going to have to pull them - that stung. After that she headed down to the shops to get some pond flora - the pond needed some more natural life in it. Ophelia greeted her with little more than a cocked head as she walked back towards the pond with the aquatic plantlife.

She was prepared to get wet trying to get this part done - luckily the first couple feet of the pond from the edge was rather shallow, with the center dug deeper. Elbow deep in the water she started to work on her planting, with time she had earned the attention of Ophelia who nosed at the plants and at Sevyrn herself. What on earth was the human doing? It had to be rather strange to watch her dig around inside of the pond like this. Sevyrn let out a little chuckle at the lotine's curiosity, and stopped between plantings to give her a wet pat on the top of the head. Would Ophelia understand her if she tried to talk to her? Sevyrn didn't think that Lotine were smart enough for that, but she could be wrong. They were rather interesting creatures, after all. "What, O? Do you want some of the plants for yourself?"

After Sevyrn had finished planting the new flora in the pond and walked away, the lotine ducked in to the poind. Was she checking out the new additions? Whatever had Ophelia's attention, Sevyrn was just happy that the lotine was acclimating to her new environment. She had been worried that the place wouldn't suit her, that she was lacking in stuff that would make Ophelia at home, but all... seemed to be well. So far, at least. That was a plus in her book. With Ophelia busy in the pond, Sevyrn was able to put her attention on to her plants once again. She may have cleared out the dead ones earlier but she still had weeds to pick, flowers to check on and crops to water. Everything seemed to be doing well, besides the plants that had died to the birds the night before. Sevyrn could be happy with that.

Fruits and vegetables and flowers and everything that she could dream of... Sevyrn was utterly at home in her garden, whether she was actively working on it or just lazing about in the summer heat with Al and Ophelia. The day after she had finished cleaning up the pond she had brought Ophelia down to the breeding center, as she'd noticed signs that the lotine had been about ready to drop her fruit - as a result she had come home with two new lola. She already had two, she had bought them off of someone quite some time ago, but these ones were the first that she had bred herself. The pond life was getting busier - Skye was in there with a manta ray she had found while exploring the mansion for the first time, and now four lola buddies! They weren't very interesting to interact with, though... maybe she would need to buy a maturity potion for the two more interesting ones.

Sevyrn knew that lotine had a way of producing better lola the more cared for they were. Because of that Sevyrn wanted to make sure that her bond with Ophelia became as good as possible, just to see if it would have any effect on the designs of the babies. She also wanted to stop by the nature's bounty store again at some point and buy some of the fancy lotine feeder fish that were available there, as she knew that could have an effect on a lotine's happiness and with such, the quality of the lola that they produced. Sevyrn was incredibly interested in the way these things worked - she'd been dabbling in breeding orbaru to get an understanding of how their genetics worked, and so far she had been kind of on the dot about what kind of babies she would get? There were obviously so many more elements at play than simply red plus blue equals purple that could be expected of the original breed.

Today's goal was to expand the fence line - and because of that, Sevyrn had tucked Al in to the house. She wasn't a bad little thing, but she was very curious and mischevious and would likely have used a gap in the fenceline as an excuse to run off and check out the world around her. Sevyrn was waiting on the permit to build the orbaru shed and as such, she was getting ready to make room for it... Was it going to go over well? Probably not. Would that stop her from at least trying? Definitely not. The first thing that Sevyrn did once in the back yard was stop to say hello to Ophelia, and then she opened the side gate and secured it with a string. It was going to be a long, hard job but it would be well worth having the extra space to live and grow in.

She needed an axe to chop the old fence posts down, and a shovel to tear up the remaining stumps. There was no way that she was going to be able to get the current fence out without those things. It made for a long, hard afternoon and she hated the manual labor but just like getting the pond cleaned up, getting the fence moved had to be done. Sevyrn was highly debating hiring someone to do that for her as she finally got the last post from one side of her yard out. From there.... she had to put up the new posts extending the yard out sideways, then back. Luckily she was going to be able to leave the back fence intact and just add to it... unfortunately, the side fences were much, much longer as her home had a rectangular shaped back yard.
What she needed most at this point was a break, and Ophelia didn't mind the company.

After finally taking a break... Sevyrn decided that she did in fact need to hire someone in order to get this job done - it was simply beyond her capabilities given her current strength and stamina. That was okay, though. Ophelia would be perfectly fine left to bask at the pond, so she went in to town and came home with someone looking to make a few credits in exchange for labor - it was a mutually beneficial exchange. Someone with experience was able to have her entire fence done by the time that the sun set, and then Sevyrn was left with plenty of new space to work with. She already knew where she was going to put the shed, and she planned to turn the other side's addition in to a new garden area.... that side was going to need to be chicken-wired off just like the current vegetable garden was.

From here on out Sevyrn planned to plant all new veggies and flowers in the expansion, and after what currently resided in the veggie garden had died off or been picked, that are would be cleared out to allow for a more open central area in her back yard - somewhere for the pets to play once she had more space for them to live at home with her. Overall, all of Sevyrn's plans revolved around making this place more suitable for any and all pets that she might have. Once upon a time she had been used to feeling so alone, but after spending years sharing a bed, a couch, the kitchen with another being, she found herself lonesome. Besides the equillion, who would stay in the stable unless she moved somewhere with much, much more land, she wanted to bring everyone home from the kennel now. One day it would happen.

With the work of the day done and dusk making the world not quite so hot, it was time to get some work done with the garden. Ophelia was growing more and more interested in what Sevyrn was doing the longer that she called this place home, yet she never wandered far from the pond. That was okay - it was where she was happiest. After filling up her watering can she started checking on her bushes and flowers, only to find a strange little flower blooming on one of them. She'd seen it in one of her botany books before - something called dragon's love? Sevyrn had never actually grown one of those before, and it must have been something that sprouted here on its own time. That wasn't a problem, she would happily take any blooms that wanted to come her way. Hopefully there would be some more interesting things around the garden today.

Once the flowers and bushes were ready, it was time to go check on the veggies. Sevyrn filled her watering can back up and stopped to talk to Ophelia for a second, and then lef tthe gate open behind her this time - one of the perks of having Al stuck inside. She knew that she was going to need to let the nyssafaux back out, but that could wait until after she was done tending the garden for the day. Sev was in luck here, too - there were some more carrots ripe and ready for the taking. They were a nice tasty treat for her, and also something that her equillion would love her for, and she loved to spoil them as much as she could. Everything else still seemed to need a little while longer to grow, but that was okay. A good garden could not be rushed, it would take time.

After finishing up with the garden tending, Sevyrn did as she said that she would - closed the garden gate, closed the side gate and finally opened the back door to her house. It only took seconds before Aura-Lune was scurrying out of it and rushing in to the garden, going wild like she'd been trapped in a cage. Sevyrn thought the nyssafaux's reaction was rather funny - she had been inside for a few hours, and during that time Sev had been inside to check on her. She'd been fed, she had water, she had toys - she was living a good life, just not outside for a little while. At least one of the creatures there was relaxed... though Ophelia seemed bothered by the way the nyssafaux ran about with no regards for the world around her. Ophelia slunk in to the pond, diving beneath the surface to hide in the depths for a little while.

The next day, Sevyrn spent more time focusing on organizing the house than she did working in the garden, but come the late afternoon she was able to make time for her plants. Before getting in to it she made sure to spend some time back at the pond, though. With it freshly cleaned she was comfortable kicking her sandals off and sitting at the edge with her feet in the water, talking to Ophelia as she did so. It was refreshing after a busy day in which she hadn't felt like she even had a minute to herself.
After taking a few minutes' break, Sevyrn was ready to get to work. The sooner that she finished her work for the day, the sooner she would be able to relax for the rest of the day, and it's not like watering the plants was difficult. It was one of her favorite things to do.
