The pair lazed around together getting to know each other until the sun started to set, and Sevyrn figured that she officially needed to get to work on today's garden tending. She didn't want to get up, though - she was enjoying getting familiar with the garden's newest resident. Al stopped by to play with her for a bit, but she got way too nosy with the new lotine and the girl ended up retreating in to the safety of the pond. That was okay - she needed to know that she had a safe place in her new home, and Sevyrn would encourage that. Skye wouldn't be a problem for her.
It was now a good time to get to work. First the flowers and then berry bushes - trimming excess growth, picking the stuff that was ripe and ready, watering everything that was scheduled to need a drink. This was what peace felt like.

What to do, what to do? After a long hard day at the mines, Sevyrn was ready to settle in to the serenity of the gardens. It had been a hard day and yet still a good one - she'd come home with many spoils, some if which she had left with her favorite - and only - little gem wyrm as a reward for helping her with the journey. She was always proud of herself when she made it through a trip, and even more so after a long day like this one. Bursting through her front door, she stopped only to drop her bag off and take a drink from the tap before making her way through the back, where she settled in peace on to one of the lounging chairs on her deck. The interest of her creatures as immediately on her - and she saw that lotine she had found recently watching her.

The lotine seemed to have found a patch of sweetgrass buried in the back part of the new addition, and seemed to be at home within the tall, soft blades. Sevyrn found herself thankful that the rather interesting lotine was starting to feel at home within these walls - knowing that she planned on keeping her here, the girl needed to feel like she was safe and in good hands. She also needed a name at some point, but Sevyrn was blanking hard on trying to figure that one out - at least she didn't need a name just yet, and the time would eventually come where inspiration would spark Sevyrn and she would finally be able to grant a title to the garden's most interesting resident. She didn't need to be adressed by anything to be safe in her home - no harm was going to come. All was good in the world.

Sevyrn had already been able to sell that... bug thing that she had found. It had a good but short life here in her garden before she shipped it off to its new home in exchange for a rather pretty white pachee - Albion became the first pachee that she had ever owned. It had been rather funny, trying to get the koguma out of here - she honestly did try to load it in to her wagon and take it away herself, but the sheer disgust that struck her just getting near it had made doing the job herself impossible. Its new owner had to come all the way to her house just to make the exchange... That was probably at least a little bit pathetic but hey - she didn't even like the thing and she had still done everything in her power to keep it safe and happy until someone wanted it.

Maybe she should bring the pachee here some day? She'd head that they were great garden pets, and after taking Albion for an initial breeding she now had two of the little garden-loving creatures to tend to. Her back yard wasn't the biggest thing in the world, though, and she only had so much room. Right now they were part of an outdoor enclosure at her kennel, and they were happy little guys, so it wouldn't be the end of the world to just leave them as they were for now.
The young woman spent quite some time just lazing around, basking in the peace of a day's work being done. Eventually however, she was going to have to get up out of the chair and head on in to the back yard. There were flowers to tend to, veggies to pick, and a few creatures waiting to see her.

Gooseberries - delicious! Sevyrn had debated even picking up that bush to plant in her garden, but now that it was ready to harvest she found herself rather pleased that she had. Gooseberries weren't among her favourite fruits and berries, hence her initial hesitation, but she wasn't about to say no to some freshly ripened berries. She plucked a small handful for herself and munched them down rather happily before running inside to grab a bowl so that she could collect more of the berries that were ready to be picked. By the end of it all the bowl was full, and she was able to offer some to the pets around - Al seemed to go insane for them, and Ophelia didn't mind it. The unnamed lotine seemed more hesitant, though, so after a moment of her simply staring at the berries with confusion, Sevyrn moved a little closer to her. Berries weren't a common food for lotine, but she figured that she would at least try.

Things had... been left untended for a few days - it was Sevyrn's own fault, she'd been busy outside of the house. Luckily she finally had some time to herself again, and she was more than happy to poke her head in to her back yard and get things organized again. Everyone seemed to be happy and fed, and Sevyrn's rather interesting lotine seemed to be making friends with the sea pony she had brought home the day before when Sev first stepped on to her back porch. It was good to see that the lotine was fitting in - she'd named it finally, too. Lailah. The pretty thing seemed to be starting to bloom, so Sevyrn was hoping to bring her down to the breeding center some time soon - a unique lotine like that would likely produce some pretty unique lola. Sevyrn wasn't quite ready for that, but she didn't seem to be either.

Al noticed her as soon as the back door opened, but no one else seemed to - Lailah was too interested in the seapony. Sevyrn needed to get in to her shed and pull out her gear, there was work to be done. Flowers and fruits and vegetables needed to be water, bushes tended to, leaves raked... this was what happened when she couldn't make time for a little while. Oh well. There were worse places to have to be than within her own back yard, surrounded by the plants that she'd lovingly cared for day after day.
There were even some more carrots ready for harvest! Sevyrn pulled a few of them out of the ground and set them aside out of the way - she could collect those once she had finished checking on the vegetables. Al would definitely love to have one, and she knew that she was going to want to go wash one off for herself as well.

After finishing up Sevyrn did exactly as she planned to and picked up the small stash of carrots and waltzed her way back inside, tossing one of them as-is for Aura-Lune to munch down on. The hybrid got to it immediately, pleased as could be. After she'd had a chance to rinse off the fresh harvest she chopped the leaves and the rooted end off of the carrot and popped it in her mouth for safe keeping while she looked through her fridge for something else - she'd gone and gotten her hands on some fresh fish earlier today, and she definitely wanted to bring some of those out for Ophelia and Lailah. There they were! She found them behind a bottle of milk that she'd pulled out, grabbed two of them, and then made her way back out the door to her yard. With one hand now free she was able to grasp the carrot properly and take a bite of it.

Sevyrn made her way down to the pond and sat by the edge, saying hello to Squirt as she did so - the happy little thing seemed fond of its namesake and squirted a bit of water at her, but not with the same force she had the first time. "Yeah, yeah, you're such a jokester, aren't you?" She shook her head and looked to the rocks that laid out around the edge of the pond, each one owned by one lotine. She tossed one of the fish in her hands over to Ophelia, which caught the attention of Lailah. The green and brown lotine inched forward towards the woman, noticing that she still had another fish in her hand. That was for her, right?
"Yeah, Lai - I have one for you as well," Sevyrn said to her, and leaned one arm in towards the lotine to give her a gentle touch.

The lotine retreated just slightly at the unexpected touch, but it wasn't enough to keep her from being interested in the fish that Sevyrn held on to. As soon as Sev had pulled away from her she was offering the snack out, holding it by the tail so that Lailah would have as much room to grab it as possible. The lotine leaned in rather hesitantly towards the woman who sat next to her and did end up doing as expected - taking the fish straight from Sevyrn's hand. She chewed a bit and then gulped it down before urging just a little bit closer to Sevyrn. Was there any chance that she had another snack waiting for her? The least that she could do was hope.
"Sorry, Lailah, I don't have any more for ya right now," Sevyrn said, sad to let her down even though the lotine likely wouldn't understand any of it.

As you work in the garden, you notice a small creature wriggling in a beautiful fruit hanging off a nearby plant. Upon closer inspection, you see that it is a disgusting slimy worm-like creature. Fearing for your plants, you take an even closer look to discover that all of the fruit in your garden is riddled with holes - there is indeed a worm infestation here. Not only will you have to remove all the current harvest from your garden, but your pets seem dissapointed...

Sevyrn didn't know what had gone through her mind when she had stopped at the Sanctuary lab, but she'd walked out with four new creatures - three rather stunning Kairfuryoo and... this thing. She'd owned a mussimander back in the day, years ago - it was one of the more common ones, and she'd given it to a new owner almost as many years ago. This little guy had tugged at her heartstrings as soon as she had walked in to the lab, however. The mushrooms on his back were glowing! He was just a baby still, but babies were... There were no words for how much Sevyrn loved spending time around babies. Their playful personalities, boundless energy, unbridled curiosity about everything the world had to show them - every day, every location being a new adventure that expanded their world. Everything had to grow, but the sweet innocence of the young ones pulled her in every time.
