Sevyrn rarely knew what to expect when starting a new trip to the mansion - she knew from season and season and month to month the strange property could twist in to new realities, perhaps even day to day (she'd never tried multiple visits in the same time span... perhaps that was another thing worth doing at some point.
Inkantana brought a strange beauty that she couldn't help but be mesmerized by, however. Beneath a soft sheen of cold winter snow the brilliant shine of oxygen crystals stood out, dawn-like sunbeams reflecting of off the beautiful glass-like structures to glimmer in a soft purplish hue. It was beautiful, and nearly as magnificent as the building erected at the end of the pathway.
"Well isn't this quite a sight," she said to Delia from the start of the pathway, keeping a close eye on the estharne as the little tabby beast found herself as curious and intrigued by this place as the girl with her.

The kitten ran forward on to the property, curious as felines were apt to be - and Sevyrn followed suit. Suddenly the cold didn't seem so bad while basking in the beauty, and with each step she took on the property the sky above seemed to dim in to the hues of sunrise. How peculiar, she noted - the mid-day sun had stood high above the world just moments before. It was always curious, seeing what kind of oddities this place could bring. Despite knowing that she should expect the unexpected, Sevyrn still managed to find herself surprised (and often in awe) by the new and exciting ways the world could warp within this area.
"Well, Del - why don't we venture inside?" She asked as she caught up to the estharne, crouching low to the ground from the trodden path that left the snow worn out. "I imagine you and I will have quite some fun here."

Well, well, this is a situation. Without even wandering inside yet, you've come across a situation; a glowing lump of fur directly in the way of the door. What's more is that you can feel thrumming. The sjurkaru has a crystal clutched in its jaw. Whether you want the crystal or access to the mansion itself, you're going to have to deal with this... To tame the creature: Make 3-5 RP posts interacting with the creature and trying to tame it. At the end of your taming attempt, make your last post with [done] and wait for staff approval.

She didn’t see it at first, the strange illuminated beast that guarded the sole entrance to the mansion. It was only after a flash of blue hues caught her attention in her peripheral that she realized her and Delia had company. The beast… maybe looks were deceiving and it was the friendliest beast in the world, but it didn’t seem like it was going to be too friendly if any intruders dared to venture too close to it. This was concerning, at best - especially considering how excitable young Delia could be. The last thing she needed was for feline curiosity to get the best of the wee estharne and for them to wind up in trouble.
One way or another they had to get past it, though - otherwise they would never enter the mansion and as pretty as the crystalline structures lining the path were that would make this entire trip a waste.

“Stay close to me please,” Sevyrn said to the estharne even though she knew the little thing wasn’t the most well trained cat in the world. She could only hope that everything would go well from here.
Luckily, as soon as Delia saw the beast blocking the doors she appeared to be unnerved. The kitten backed away even though they were nowhere near close to the building yet, and Sevyrn made a point to soothe the little feline before she dared to venture forth on her own. The glowing beast was something she had never seen but it looked bear-like - she hoped that made it a carnivore, as one could earn a little trust from many animals with a simple meal.
She stopped shy of the door, though, as soon as she noticed the beings ears pull back and its lips part in a snarl. As it did so the crystal it held fell to the ground, and Sev realized there was another benefit to the task at hand, provided that she succeeded.
“Hey there,” she said, not sure whether to make herself bigger or smaller. “I’m not looking to hurt you or cause any trouble, I’d just like to get inside.”

The beast didn’t care - its snarl loudened and Sevyrn stepped back, respecting the creature by putting a bit more distance between them. She hadn’t expected it to be so easily convinced but it was worth a shot, right? At least the blue being hadn’t climbed to its feet and started charging at her!
“Look - I get it,” she said, this time in a softer tone than before. “I’m a stranger in your territory and that makes me unwelcome. I swear I have no ill will towards you, though,” she said as she fumbled behind her with one hand to blindly dig through her bag. Eventually she found what she was trying to hunt down, all while keeping a careful eye on the creature in front of her - snacks! It wouldn’t be the easiest thing to please a beast like this, she imagined, but this was a valid attempt.
“You like fish?” She asked, knowing that all she had on her were some dried meats she had made for Delia. Hopefully the beast could be appeased - after opening the bag she tossed a chunk forward.

A snack didn’t seem to quell the beast’s need to snarl - and Sevyrn knew one little snack wasn’t typically a game changer for something more aggressive. It sure had no problem gobbling the meat up after a moment of hesitancy spent sniffing at it like it was foreign (as it likely was, being processed by Sevyrn from its raw state). She swore she saw a little bit of that leer in its eyes disappear, however, and the corner of her mouth turned up in a slight lopsided smile.
If it would accept a gift, it could likely be convinced that Sevyrn and her estharne were trustworthy enough to allow them to pass.
“Yeah - that’s not so bad, is it,” she said, continuing to communicate with the creature like it was capable of responding back to her with speech. She took a couple steps closer, keeping an eye on any reactions the sjurkaru may have, and then tossed another snack this way. She was in it for the long haul, taking things slowly.

It took time to convince the beast to let her even get close, but Sevyrn had patience - she was capable of taking things one step at a time (literally), and that patience helped her along the way with many a creature in her life. It wasn’t too long before she’d managed to get close enough that if she reached out, the beast would be able to reach her without having to move… Quite a precarious moment, really, but she hoped that she’d done well enough earning its trust that her and Delia (whose curious nature had drawn her closer but not nearly as close as Sevyrn was) passage in to the mansion.
“What do you think?” She asked, stretching her arm out towards the sjurkaru with what was hopefully the last of the treats as a peace offering. “Do you mind if we make our way inside now?”

A chirp and twitter; not far off, another stood by, perched rather high in a nearby tree. Maybe not vastly interested in the on-goings of the beings nearby, but it was content enough to sit where it sat, preening a feather here and there, passively observing the casual disruption of quiet.
