Well, that had been a success. Not the pachee breeding of course, that hadn't even started yet. But when Fiera had put up an ad asking for people to breed their pachee with hers, she hadn't imagined that anyone would respond, let alone so quickly. She had been contacted by another humanish that introduced herself as "Leafy". She wasn't sure what kind of a name that was supposed to be, but so long as this breeding went well Fiera decided that she could deal with the more... eccentric citizens of the labs. She was all ready, with her pachee in a carrier and her breeding berries packed inside her purse. All she had to do was get to the breeding center, and even now she was turning into the front lot of it, where a couple other people were milling around already with their own breedable pets by their sides.

It had been a while since Leafy had bred Pachee. When she had seen an ad posted by someone looking to breed theirs, it seemed like a good idea to respond. She had bred a few Pachee on her own, but most of her crew were males and typically, one needed to have a female involved. If she wanted the resulting offspring to look just as cool as Morphos did she’d require some external support.
The Pachee in question was snuggled up in a carrier. He was thankfully quite docile and easy to transport. Anxiety prickled in her skin as she made her way over to the breeding center. Most breedings she had completed alone or with Jack. This time, she would be meeting someone entirely new and the prospect was a little bit unnerving. Having contact with other people was still rather foreign to her, but this would be a good opportunity to face her fears bravely.

Fiera strolled up to the breeding center and looked around. She... unfortunately had no clue what Leafy looked like. She hadn't thought to ask about her appearance. Luckily though, she did know what Swirl's up and coming mate looked like, based on the pictures exchanged to finalize the breeding couple. He was a gorgeous blue male with butterfly wings that were strongly edged in black. It wouldn't be too difficult to spot him- nor would it be difficult to spot HER, based on her outfit. If Fiera wanted to dress in an even brighter shade of orange, she would probably have to light herself on fire. It was what she considered a "summery" outfit in a skirt-shorts combo and a sports vest zipped up over a tank top and a pair of round sunglasses slapped on her face. Needless to say, she wasn't too hard to miss even if you WEREN'T looking for her.

Leafy held Morphos's carrier with both hands carefully in front of her. He raised his head to peer out of the wired mesh, intrigued by the new sights and sounds of the breeding center. She didn't know much about the person she was meant to be completing this breeding with. She had a name written down, so worst case scenario she could ask around to see if she could find someone named Fiera. It was a rather unique name and Leafy doubted that many others had it.
When she arrived at the front door of the breeding center, she took a few moments to look around and see if she could find anyone who fit the sort of image that the name Fiera brought to mind. Immediately her attention was drawn to humanish woman that wore clothes that definitely stood out in a crowd. Gut instinct told her that this was exactly who she was looking for.

Fiera was searching quite thoroughly as well, checking every other owner for pachee and if they had one, checking to see if it was Morphos. Sure enough, when another humanish rounded the corner with a pet carrier of her own, Fiera squinted to see through the bars of it. She couldn't really be sure, but she could have sworn she saw a flash of blue. She turned on her heel and made a beeline toward the other individual. "Yoohoo!" She called affably enough. "I don't suppose you would be Leafy, are you?"
Meanwhile, Swirled Waves was... less than chuffed to be here. She was having a perfectly nice nap when her owner showed up, picked her up, and shoved her in a box. What was she even doing here? It wasn't like Fiera could tell her, so she was just sort of stuck staring out the window in the meantime.

The humanish turned to greet her, identifying her by the Pachee that she carried.
"Y-Yes I am Leafy," she tried to appear friendly but ended up starting her words with a stutter. Human (or in this case humanish) interaction was more difficult than she remembered. "You must be Fiera then, right?"
She found herself relaxing somewhat. Introductions were usually the hardest part about this sort of thing. "I like your ears." They had a softness to them that made Leafy want to pet them. If Fiera was shorter, she might have done just that. Morphos sat up attentively at Fiera's presence. He leaned closer, intrigued by the bright orange that she was wearing. Was she a flower? The Pachee felt suddenly confused. He rubbed against the edge of his carrier, not quite sure what to make of this flower person. What was she carrying? Was it another creature like him?

Quick footsteps brought Fiera right over to Leafy, where the tall humanish looked the other woman up and down. "Yes, I'm Fiera." She said calmly, her brain immediately going into analysis mode. Slight stutter, seemed nervous but trying to relax. At the ear comment, Fiera couldn't help but flick one of them. "...Thanks. I grew them myself." She said sarcastically, hoping that this woman wasn't the sort thatreached out and grabbed peoples' tails because they just "looked so soft". Of the many things Fiera hated, it was violation of her personal bubble. She decided to get back on track with what she called her in for today though, glancing down at the other pachee, who was now pressed at the bars of the cage. The corner of her lip quirked into a half smile involuntarily. "And this would be Morphos, then? What a little charmer." She said, wiggling a finger at him. Swirl on the other hand seemed to shove herself even further into the back of her cage in protest.

Well Fiera was friendly enough and that was all that mattered to Leafy. She was delighted to meet Morphos and if she treated the Pachee well, there wouldn't be an issue between them.
"Yes this is Morphos. It's his first time being bred so I don't know quite how he'll react, but he's usually pretty docile and friendly," she remarked.
Pachee overall didn't usually give her too much issue. She had the carrier to protect him in case he got overwhelmed. It acted as a safe, protective place. She wondered if his wings would pass down to the offspring. Flying Pachee felt rather unique. She had really only seen Morphos's father having wings. There were likely lots of others out there with the same mutation, but she hadn't come across any yet.
Morphos glanced up at the colourful individual as she greeted him. He gave a quick flutter of his wings in response.

Leafy didn't seem too put off by her comment... so either she had a thick skin or was just a little slow. Fiera's sense of judgement knew no bounds, apparently. Fiera leaned down as his wings gave a quick flutter, admiring them. They would look beautiful on his offspring, should they inherit them. "Hm, I don't think it'll be too much of a problem if he's never been bred before. Pachee usually take to this quite easily. I brought breeding berries to try and help the offspring turn out better just in case, however." She said, straightening back up again before pointing a thumb over her shoulder. "You want to go check in now? I don't know about you, but I'm boiling alive out here." Fiera said, lashing her long furred, black tail in the thick summer heat. Frankly, the quicker she could get out of this miserable weather, the better.

"Yeah that's probably a good idea. Hopefully it's not too busy inside."
Morphos seemed to enjoy Fiera's presence which made Leafy relax further. If this woman was good with her creatures, then this breeding should go perfectly fine. Fiera seemed more affected by the heat than she was. Perhaps it was the fur. Did it get itchy? She was suddenly glad that she only had the hair on the top of her head to deal with. If they could get the Pachee acquainted with each other in a calm environment then the breeding should be successful. Leafy didn't know how the whole ordeal worked exactly, but the Pachee she had bred before needed to become friends first before they produced an offspring. She carried Morphos over to the front door of the breeding center and pushed it open. She stepped inside and waited for Fiera to join her with her Pachee.

Fiera was more than happy to wait for Leafy to open the door for her- at least this young woman had decent etiquette. When she stepped into the cool, air conditioned space of the waiting room of the breeding center, both she and Swirled Waves seemed to relax a bit. The breeding center looked the same as usual, painted with soft, inviting colors, decorated with chairs and tables full of magazines and smaller play pens for pets that were still waiting on their mates to arrive. Fiera ignored all this however and made a beeline for the front desk, marching right toward it. “Hello.” Fiera said to the receptionist, not even waiting for their reply as she got down to business. “I’m here for a scheduled pachee breeding. The female is Swirled Waves, owned by Fiera Ferella, and the male is...” she said, pushing her ID forward and looking at Leafy expectantly.

"Morphos owned by Leafy," Leafy murmured. She handed over her ID as well and waited awkwardly for it to be handed back.
Now that Morphos was inside the building, he wanted to get out of his carrier and explore the new area. Leafy tapped the edge of the plastic material briefly to catch his attention. He looked up at her with curiosity.
"Just a little longer and then I'll let you out," she told him.
She hoped it wouldn't take them long to get the breeding room ready. Morphos would grow unhappy is he was cooped up in the carrier much longer. She wasn't much of a fan of waiting rooms. They served to heighten anticipation as one waited for their name to be called. Leafy didn't like waiting in general and waiting was the entire purpose of a waiting room. She quickly scanned over the various brochures and magazines that lay scattered on a nearby table.

Swirled also seemed quite eager to get out of her cage, tapping repeatedly on the side of it facing Fiera, as if trying to get her attention so she'd let her out to run around. "Yeah, yeah, give us a minute." The humanish said, rolling her eyes. Sometimes the breeding rooms were available for them to use right away if they made their appointment in advance, but it looked like Fiera and Leafy were quite early, seeing as they were waved away. Fiera plopped herself down in the nearest chair, almost immediately checking the time before picking up a magazine. Ugh. All stuff she had heard before. Might as well see what her current company had to say. "So... what made you want to get into pachee breeding then, Leafy?" Fiera said, paging through the magazine as if any of it interested her, wanting to seem casual with her conversation.

Leafy followed Fiera's lead and grabbed a seat as well. She settled down in the chair and placed Morphos's carrier onto her lap. The Pachee pressed his face against the wire mesh, trying his best to see further out of his carrier than he currently could. It took Leafy a second to realize that Fiera had addressed her.
"Well, Morphos was the first proper Pachee breeding I did if I remember right. I borrowed his parents for some credits and got to keep Morphos who was created through that breeding. I mostly bred Orbaru before that, but that can take a lot longer than Pachee breedings do," she replied. "Guess I just wanted to change things up. How about you?"
She'd bred a fair amount of Orbaru in her time. However, Orbaru could be rather finicky and needed to spend more time together than her Pachee ever did. The process could be a bit exhausting.
