Morgan reels in the line and then sits it down on the rock next to them before turning around. "Alright, I t-think that you have gotten to where we can work together to work on this." The bespectacled human hadn't noticed that their glasses had slid down their nose slightly, so they pushed it back up as Endymion turns back towards Morgan from where he had been hopping in the other direction. "N-now that you have your weight landing on your front legs, we'll work on y-your technique." At this, they moved him over to behind a rock. "Practice pouncing on top of things, at the cue whistle." They request of him, putting the whistle to their lips as soon as the draconic gave a confident nod. They used the cue that the pair had chosen for the pouncing 'attack', and Endymion chooses a nearby rock to try to pounce on.

The pounce was fairly well executed, on cue, and he hit his target. Morgan did not that he was a little bouncier than say, an estharne, but he was doing incredibly well. Morgan was beginning to realize that he wasn't really built like a panther-like creature, but he had indeed seen plenty of different types of animals pounce on stuff, so they weren't too concerned. "Good job, Endymion! If we can just do that just like that a few more times, you aught t-to get it." They said, grinning at him. Endymion seemed pleased, at least. Morgan set up a few different rocks for him to jump on so that he could practice his aim.
"What do I do after I pounce?" Endymion asks, curiously, between working on his pounces. He continued to do incredibly well at doing them to the cue whistles.
"We'll work on t-that later."

Another thirty minutes came and went as they worked tirelessly on the pounce technique that Endymion would hopefully perfect. He was doing much better with each pounce, and he reacted incredibly fast to the whistled cues. That was what Morgan had been hoping on- that he would be able to react quickly if anything happened to them in the future. After the final pounce, which had been executed with perfection (power in his front legs, a powerful leap) Morgan was sure that he had gotten it. He could put his entire weight into it, now. "Great job, Endymion!" Morgan said to him, clapping him on the back. "I think you've g-got it down pat." They said.
Endymion was growing in confidence, which was good. Morgan had been hoping that this would do just that. "Alright, time for me to get back to fishin'." Morgan grabs the fishing pole, and turns back to the water.

Endymion was very obviously ready to get started on something else, but Morgan didn't want him to feel pressured into working on a ton of stuff all the time. Endymion gives an annoyed huff and exhale of breath, and then rolls his eyes, moodily. "Now what do I do?" He asks. Morgan turns over their shoulder, apologetically giving him a shrug. "Y-you need to learn how to just relax." They said, tossing the grub on the hook into the water and letting the line flow down the river a little ways.
"But I want to learn more." He said, a little indignantly. Teenagers, Morgan thought, were kind of terrible, weren't they?
"You need to relax for a while, maybe h-help me catch some fish, and we'll work on one last thing for today later, okay?" They said, this time not looking directly at him.

The human was having a good evening, but it seemed like Endymion was having some kind of problem that metaphorically smelled suspiciously like 'teenager issues'. Morgan crinkled their nose just thinking about it. The youngster steps up to Morgan and then lays on the side of the rock, flopping his body down with a harsh huff. It was quite obvious that he was not very happy, and the human wasn't exactly sure what to do to fix it, other than the fact that they weren't exactly sure what made them even want to help him, really. The human waited, quietly, the hook in the water at the end of the line. They were sure that he would speak to them sooner or later, and they would have able to ascertain what the best action in the situation should be. They weren't exactly sure what had brought this on so close on the heels of having completed a task.

For Morgan at least, nothing felt better than completing a task. They'd rather complete a task than do anything else. Well, perhaps that, and be praised. They hated to admit it, in fact, it was a sore spot, but nothing made them happier than praise. Not that they got it a lot, and not that it ever wound up meaning anything at all in the long run, but a bit of praise could carry them for a long time. Not so much for Endymion, it would seem. Though it could just be all of that teenage resentment, for all the human knew. They tried not to give him a look of pity at all, but it was hard not to glance over at him as he stared (blue eyes deep) at the water below the lip of the rock edge. "What is wrong, E-endymion?" Morgan finally gives in, not wanting to let him stew.

Endymion shoots Morgan a withering look, and the human looks away from where their fishing hook is in the water, and simply they looked at him in the eyes. It was sort of like being betrayed- that look, but Morgan tried not to take too much offense at it. He was, after all, just a youngster. He finally sighs, the withering glare falling off of his face like rain had washed it off, and he simply sighs. "Vixie wanted to be your bonded, ya know." He said.
Ah, this. "Yeah, I know." They answered. "More like demanded." That was just the way that Vixie was, after all.
"Why didn't you pick her?" He accuses and asks, at the same time. Morgan wasn't exactly sure how to answer this one, it was really between them and Vixie.
"She's too young. And before you start up- you are too young too, but we didn't really get that choice."

Endymion gets that really angry look on his face again, and Morgan isn't sure whether they should press the issue, or wait. They teeter between the two, and then decide to wait. Morgan's face blanches. Endymion growls. "That is just it! I didn't give YOU the choice either!" He said. Morgan looked piteously at him. "It i-is not your fault." They answer back, before he gets a second to be angry about it or make it worse. "L-look, neither of us got to pick. That doesn't mean t-that either of us love Vixie any less. She's going through a lot- she's not t-taking it out on you, is she?" Morgan asks, suddenly a little remorseful and angry, theirself.
"No..." He finally says... "Yes, no, maybe? I don't know! Maybe she has a right to be angry!" He says. "You promised."

Morgan could remember communicating with him about this problem back when he was super young, and now that he was coming up on possibly growing up relatively soonish... Yeah, they should have seen this coming. The human held the pole in their hands, trying to hide the fact that their hands were shaking. Why did this bother Morgan so bad? They couldn't help but swallow, and Endymion could see it in their throat lines that this truly did, bother them. "I didn't promise her." They said, simply, all in one breath.
"But she said-" Endymion started. Morgan shook their head.
"I didn't. I did intend it, b-but I didn't tell her." They admitted. "Look, you didn't ruin anything. I still c-care a lot about Vixie. I'd not abandon either one of you. I love you both the same, you little assholes." Morgan said, giving an annoyed eye-roll.

All is quiet for a moment, and it occurs to Morgan that Endymion is crying, but it appears to be a frustration cry. Oh. They weren't going to be able to get much more done today at all. "L-look, now we're both guilty. Goodness, it doesn't do any g-good for anyone." Morgan finally says, looking out over the murky water. It was starting to lower down, too. The dry season was coming up on them fast. "Well, it is getting time that we should probably get out of here." Morgan said, patting him on the side.
Endymion made a scrunched up facial expression that Morgan noted was displeasure. "I don't think we got anything really done today." He says, sniffing.
"Nope. But that happens sometimes, it is fine. Look y-you got your lesson done. That's enough for me." Morgan said to him, patting again.

The tense moment had passed, but it left a couple of very sad individuals in it's wake. "When are you going back to the city?" Endymion asks. He feels suddenly very dumb for getting so upset and assuming what he had. He felt like he had wasted time that they could have used doing other things. It was a precious commodity after all.
"Soon, but if you want, w-we can go on another mining trip or something, soon. I want to get a bit more time in with you before... Well, you know, you are getting really big." Not to mention, there were still a couple of lessons that Morgan wanted to do before he got older, after all.
"O-okay, sure." He said, finally getting his voice together. He was still sniffling, but they weren't nearly as strong as they had been earlier. It was getting dark out, anyway.

The pair began to pack up. The day was done. Where had the day gone? It would appear that Morgan had been waiting for Endymion to say something a lot longer than they had meant to do. They were both incredibly stubborn people at this juncture, it would seem. "Alright, you about ready?" Morgan asked him, pushing their glasses up further on their nose again. The river was certainly a lot lower than it had been.
"Yeah..." He said, reluctantly. He was standing at the edge of the rock lip, looking into the water. "The dry season comes fast, doesn't it?" He asks, his head tilted to better see into the murky water.
"Yes it does." Morgan agreed. It was a pointless, empty conversation, but if it worked to make Endymion feel better, then it meant the world to them. Time passed slowly now.

All of their items were put away in the packs, and the human was ready to go. However, Endymion seemed reluctant to leave. "What is it, Endymion?" They asked him, yawning and stretching. They felt sore, like they had sat in one spot for entirely too long. Endymion looks at Morgan, and it seemed that he had finally pulled himself together to the point to where he felt better. "I want to see if there is anything else, you know, before we go." He said.
"We haven't found much of anything all day." Morgan said to him. "Y-you know, just another five minutes. We need to rest this evening if we're gonna hit the mines tomorrow." They acquiesced. Endymion looks excitedly down into the water, ready to go fishing for anything that was there.
They waited. They would leave if there was nothing of intense interest, at least.
[120] - [The pair will leave here if there isn't an encounter roll- if there is, they'll stay to catch it.]
