Wait, why was he thinking he'd need to sneak around all shady like? The shipment wasn't on the manifest, which meant the people running the ship probably didn't have a claim to it. He had the quest papers from the Bukkukipas as well, if the shipment was recognizable as belonging to them, he might be able to use that to his advantage.
Nerius still didn't know where the shipment was though, if it was even still around, and he mentally reached out, sensing for other sources of magic. There was something, in the direction of solid land, though he couldn't tell exactly what it was yet. It was a lead, and he followed it, ending up in front of a building just barely located on land. It looked to be a warehouse of sorts, but it also seemed more business oriented, there was even an open sign. It made sense, people had to have some way of registering or tracking shipments.

The wiurn really hadn't been much help before, but she really wasn't going to be useful here. Or even fit in the front door, for that matter. So he located a sturdy dock post, and tied the wiurn's lead to it. His knots were not going to be impressing any sailors, but it should do the job of keeping the wiurn from wandering off while he went inside.
There were a few magic sources within, most of them faint, but one was strong enough he could detect traces of dark magic that stood out from the magical haze. Nerius just really hoped that was the books, or at least, that they were in the warehouse. Once he'd made sure his wiurn was secure, though she wasn't happy about it, he stepped into the building. The door hadn't been locked, and a bell rang as he entered, drawing the attention of the woman behind a desk.

She was sitting behind an impressive stack of books and paperwork, clearly responsible for the bookkeeping of the many shipments in and out. She finished with whatever she'd been writing down, and looked up at Nerius. "May I help you?" she asked, polite, if somewhat bored.
"Yes, I'm looking for a missing shipment on behalf of the Bukkukipas." He hoped he was saying that right. "It wasn't shipped by your company, but may have ended up on your ship by mistake." He decided not to mention the shipment had been stolen, no need to offend the woman by implying the company she worked for was involved in the crime. And if they were, better to think him clueless about the status of the shipment. Here he paused to fish out the papers the brothers had given him describing the shipment. "The shipment is of several tomes relevant to Vai Min Mur." That was detailed in the papers too, buried in with a lot of other detail.
Her expression suggested the description he gave was familiar, but she skimmed through the papers before responding. "We might have your missing shipment, caused a mess of our schedule this morning," at this, she stood up, grabbing a key before leading him to the back, using the key to unlock the gate. There were a lot shipments in the back, but she led him to a relatively small, unassuming crate with the Dusty Scroll logo on it.

[19] It had already been opened, he realized, when she lifted the lid without effort, "Some of the curious workers pried it open to see what it was, creeped the lot of them out when they saw what was inside." She seemed slightly unsettled herself, but Nerius didn't see the issue. Heavy tomes, bound in dark leather, with runes, arcane symbols, and, okay there was a skull on that one but it wasn't that creepy. He could also sense the pull of magic from the top one, that had to be the first edition. "This is the correct shipment," as far as he could tell, at least, it matched the description perfectly. "Is it alright if I check to make sure they're all there?" He doubted the thief had taken anything, since the magical one was still present, but it was possible a curious dockworker might have grabbed one as a 'bonus' for the day.
"Go ahead," she didn't seem eager to touch the books, and handed the papers back. It took him a couple minutes to check that all the books against the list.
"Everything's accounted for," the first edition was the priority, but he'd still rather return all the books if he could. The woman nodded, and replaced the lid, gesturing for him to pick it up. It wasn't light, but he was able to lift it, and he followed the woman back to the front of the warehouse.

The woman seemed happy to be getting rid of the creepy, out of place shipment, and he was finishing up a little paperwork. They needed to log the pickup, if only to have a resolution to the mess, when when he heard some kind of commotion outside. At first, Nerius didn't think it was something he needed to be involved in, and continued with the papers. He'd just finished the last of it when he heard the distinctive bugling call of a.. wiurn. Well shit that was probably his.
He thanked the woman, and headed outside as quickly as he could with the crate. He got there just in time to see the agitated wiurn hurl a sphere of water at someone, knocking the... person? off the dock. There was the feel of magic that he could only describe as 'slippery', and as he watched the shape in the water as it descended, the less it seemed to be a person. He was oddly reminded of an octopus, but the figure quickly disappeared into the depths.
That had probably been the thief, and it was another reason to leave sooner rather than later. The bystanders attention was more on the not quite person than the defensive wiurn, but it still didn't seem the best idea to hang around. He collected the wiurn, who had gotten loose, probably for the best in this situation, and led her away from the scene before the attention could shift to him. Now he just had to return the shipment to the twins.
