Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

Well, so the first fight had been a loss. Aster hadn't really expected any different, especially after seeing what their opponent was. A Mosca... The Laredo never had a chance, really.
At least it didn't seem to be taking the loss too hard. He wondered if it even had the wits to have a sense of pride. It wasn't just Aster disparaging of the Laredo's poor intelligence; he honestly didn't know, having never worked closely with a creature who was this... simple.
But then, sometimes that was a good thing. A creature with a broken spirit was hard to rehabilitate. The Laredo merely blinked, without a shred of recognition, as Aster led it onto the sands.
"Go get 'em," he said, but without any real enthusiasm. How well they did this time... depended more on what they were going against than the Laredo itself. Hopefully it wouldn't be another Mosca.

Name of Owner: Riku Name of Pet: Poseidon Species and Breed of Pet: Poseidon Equillion V2 Level: 7 Loyalty to Owner: 5 Stats: Stamina: 6 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 4 (3+1) Mentality: 1 Any natural boost to stats: Bracelet Of Minor Agility Special Abilities: Run, Water Immunity Moves Taught: Horn Strike (2), Buck (3) Abilities Used on Command: N/A Tricks Taught: N/A Creature Carries Ribbon? No *Special!* Chosen extra move *Special!*: N/A The first battle had been a success. Well, it wasn’t the most fluid or flashy scene to watch, but they had been rewarded the higher points. Poseidon took a critical hit, but his own attack landed much harder and knocked the enemy out. The blood had been mostly cleaned off the floor, and both creatures were healed. Now he was being led back into the enclosed circle to fight again. Again? This place was one of nightmares....the Equillion grunted and hesitated as they insistingly pushed him into the arena. He was grateful for his size, and readied his body for another painful assault. Riku stood up in the trainer’s section and looked down at his new friend. He saw the fear in his eye and regretted not being able to bond with him more before such a....trial. He couldn’t even communicate effectively with it like he could with a more sentient creature - or at least one with a ribbon. Hopefully he would be able to realize he wasn’t really in permanent harm here. Though it did make him question his own integrity.

... Huh.
Aster had an inkling that he would probably see some of the creatures he had recently trained in the Pit. Not all of them said what it was they wanted the training for, but based on the creatures involved, and the shortlist of acceptable species for the tournament, it was the logical conclusion. Maybe it was just that this had never actually happened to him before, or maybe it was more that he didn't expect one so soon... Whatever it was, the recognition he felt at the sight of the Equillion mingled with surprise.
The Laredo had no such reservations. It was another creature. That didn't really mean anything to it.
He didn't really recognize the other handler, but the guy didn't look as if he came here often. The regulars tended to get used to the realities of Pit fighting after a while.
He gave a command, and the Laredo moved off. "Body slam."
(Anchovy uses Body Slam)

Poseidon saw the other creature enter the ring and let out another grunt, territorial and threatening this time. Another one, and he trotted along the curved side a bit while sizing the new apparent enemy up. What kind of place was this? Would he really have to fight his way to freedom? He tried to angle himself so that he could watch his most immediate threat while still keeping Riku in his peripheral - but this time he also saw another more familiar face. That gave him a reluctant feeling of potential hope.....that or betrayal.
He stared into the Laredo’s large glossy eyes and took notice of his tail weapon. Lowering his head in warning at the creature, he readied his own sword and awaited either a command or instinct.
Riku took note of the other trainer. He wanted to observe their behavior to compare it to his own for later. He wasn’t sure if he’d seen them before, but they called for an attack - so he yelled one out, too! Taking note of how the Equillion acted on its own last time, he figured he’d go with the already readied move.
“Horn Strike!”
- Poseidon uses Horn Strike -

Calculations
Poseidon uses Horn Strike! Anchovy's Danger Sense activates, Poseidon misses his attack!
Anchovy uses Body Slam! Anchovy's Dexterity of 3 + 3 rolled by staff = 6 vs. 4 Dexterity of Poseidon Anchovy will deal the most damage possible! Anchovy's Strength of 4 + 7 Resistance = 11 damage 11 - 4 Resistance of Poseidon = 7 Poseidon's Stamina is now -1
Results Anchovy gains 2 levels and Aster gains 5 pit prize points Poseidon gains 1 level and Riku gains 3 pit prize points
