After everyone had a moment to settle in, Sevyrn knelt to the ground and called the mother to be over to her - it was time to give her the baby-producing fruit that would hopefully give them a second or even third baby... she'd never seen three babies in person before, but she knew that it was something that happened once in a while. Vis seemed to absolutely love the idea of having a treat! Sevyrn didn't even have time to offer the juicy fruit over to her before her grubby little paws were reaching up at Sevyrn's hand. So impatient - Sevyrn laughed. It was okay right now, though - this was for her anyways, she wasn't about to keep the pair from doing what they needed to do just because Vis lacked manners in that moment. The female mowed it down as excitedly as she had tried to steal it straight from Sevyrn's fingers, and now the last thing that they had needed to get done in order to be set for the pair to breed was done. She still couldn't believe that getting them to the breeding center had been the hardest part - generally that title belonged to the waiting game once here.

What now? Sevyrn picked up the little food bowl that she had packed in to her bag, and poured the little stash of blueberries in to it. The scent of fresh fruit seemed to be enough to make Monster interested in what was going on - he bounded across the room from the back corner in which he had settled straight over to where Sevyrn stood. He was probably the closest that he had willingly got to the unknown female yet - and only because there was food around. What an egghead. Sevyrn knelt low to the ground to put the bowl of berries down for the pair, and gave each of them a pat on the head - first Vis and then Monster, who also got a really nice chin stroke on top of it. He fussed about and tried to get away from the touch so that he could mow down on the snack that he had just been given. How dare this human try to get between him and his food - hadn't she seen his mouth full of sharp teeth yet? Only an idiot would think that was safe?
... Monster had absolutely no interest in sharing those blueberries, though. He pushed Vis straight out of the way.

"No no no no no-" Sevyrn said to the greedy little guy, pushing him out of the way so a rather offended looking Hi-Vis could get in and steal at least a couple blueberries from "his" bowl of snacks. Monster did not seem to like that very much, and looked up to his girl with narrowed eyes and an exaggerated pout that... didn't look as cute on his creepy face as it did one of the friendlier looking varieties. Sevyrn didn't let that phase her, though - it was only fair that Hi-Vis had a chance to eat a few of the berries. She understood that it wasn't right to let the girl have all of them - she did just get a treat that Spacemonster wouldn't be getting - but c'mon... a few. There was no need for him to be so greedy!
Once the lady of the day had a chance to nab a few of the little snacks, Sevyrn let Monster have his way with the berries once again. To make up for the percieved inequality, Sevyrn made a point to give Hi-Vis a bit of loving in the meantime - poor thing had been taken from her home and now this boy was being mean to her,

Was Spacemonster... jealous? As soon as Sevyrn started petting and playing with Hi-Vis, booping the tip of her nose ever so gently with one of her fingers, the male seemed to want to be in the middle of that to. Either he was jealous that someone else was getting attention and he wasn't - even though just seconds before he was getting exactly what he had wanted so much - or he really didn't like being around the girl. Hopefully it was the former... it would be easier to just share the love than try to convince him not to hate the orbaru that Sevyrn had chosen to be his potential mate. The longer that she was around these two, the more it seemed like she really should have picked another girl. She'd been up in her head about what their babies might turn out like - and you know what, it wasn't too late. There was plenty of time for them to get along with each other and maybe Monster would come around a bit more now that they were one on one and not dealing with the hectic goings-on of the rest of the troupe. Hopefully all he would need was some space to himself.

"You're so needy," Sevyrn said to him - but she was born with two hands for a reason, and that reason was most definitely so that she could love on two creatures at once rather than just one. Life was better this way - her life would have been empty without the many creatures big and small to pour her attention on to, especially now that she found herself devoid of the human companionship she'd spent half a decade thinking that she probably wouldn't lose until she was old and gray and loss would be expected. These little guys... they were part of what was keeping her sane. Training was one thing but that was nothing new to her - there was little she was working on that she hadn't worked on before in that sense. Breeding? Bringing Cyprus and Tanner here for that first breeding just weeks ago had been one of the best decisions she had ever made, as it had opened her up to new opportunities - and the dopamine rush of bringing new life back home. Orbaru, pachee - she was even raising her Houlou lately to see what might come of that. The more new ventures that she had, the more distracted she was from reality.

Sevyrn had been on the move for quite some time today - she'd probably spent an hour wandering around the zoo before she'd ended up walking home with Hi-Vis, and before that she had just finished up a mining trip. She was utterly exhausted and more than anything just wanted to rest a little bit - that was okay. Everyone was safe and sound and there was nothing around to threaten that, so she could finally kick her feet up. She perched her upper half on one half of the breeding room's two-seater couch and kicked her legs up over the other side - she was so tall that her feet and lower legs dangled over the edges. That was alright, though... it was better than having to stand on them. With the little table right by her head she was able to reach for everything that she had pulled out of her bag already - voila! She had a couple of toys - she always had a couple of toys - to entertain the orbaru for a bit. She tossed them towards the orbarus, one a piece, and then grabbed her sketchbook. Pulling the pencil out of the wire binding she left the two of them to their own devices.

Hi-Vis and Spacemonster needed some one on one bonding time - and Sevyrn needed a chance to chill out after a long day. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement, and as long as she kept hearing the gentle patter of footsteps she knew that no one was getting in to trouble. She would look up and check on them here and there, but for the most part she was happily absorbed in an absent-minded series of various doodles, the page slowly becoming filled with sketches of a variety of the creatures that Sevyrn had the joy of calling her own. Over the last short while she had come to own two new species - a pachee and not one but two lotine after a very strange find her garden - so a lot of her work was practicing their forms, figuring out the best angles and perspectives to get the drawing done just right. She knew that she would never truly be happy with her work, but it was worth the effort - there was no way that she would ever improve if she didn't push herself to keep trying. After finishing up a quick pachee sketch she realized that the room had gone quiet.

Quiet and critters didn't go along well, in Sevyrn's experience - usually it meant that someone was up to something that they shouldn't be. Her grey-green eyes scanned the room until she caught sight of one orbaru... but she still needed to find the other. Monster was cuddled up with a plushie in the back corner of the room, but Vis was nowhere to be seen... and then she shot out towards the male, seeming to have been hiding from Sevyrn's sight at the base of the couch. She collided with the boy with quite some force - she knocked him and his pillow open. That was all he needed to start pushing back - he chased after her faster than Sevyrn had ever seen him move. She was about to get up off of the couch and stop him when he lept at her, pinning her for just a second before bopping his nose against her cheek. Was that... the first sign of affection Sevyrn had ever seen from him? She decided not to intervene but to simply keep a watchful eye on the pair and see how this played out. This might have turned out to actually be the progress that they had needed.

That first catch turned in to a game of tag - the two orbaru chased each other back and forth and all around the room, and content that they would be fine without any kind of intervention Sevyrn went back to what she was doing before. Orbarus running around and having fun, pencil in had - this was good. This was the kind of life that she could be happy to live. The only thing that would make it any better would have been Ryden curled up on the couch behind her, holding her gently while she sketched. This was another of her adventures that she wished that he had been able to be around for - he always seemed so happy when she succeeded with something or found herself fascinated and absorbed by something new. He'd loved seeing her thrive, even when it was just her being her obsessive, impulsive self and throwing herself headfirst in to various hobbies that she probably wouldn't even keep for a month. It was healthier than choosing alcohol - and boy had she wanted to choose alcohol lately with the chaos that had stormed down on her life. Sevyrn needed to give herself a bit of credit there.

She'd had a drinking habit - started when she was a teenager, teetered in and out throughout the years. The last time that she had gone deep down that road was a few years ago now - she'd nearly lost Ryden from her own narcissism at that point and self indulgence, but he'd managed to pull her back to reality. He had always been there to pull her back from reality, except now he wasn't and he never would be and it didn't matter what happened to her she would have to face it alone, whether that meant she lost herself to the paranoia and the impulsivity and the constant urge to drink or truly faced reality, acknowledged it for what it was rather than what it could have or should have been. She was trying, she really was - she'd thrown herself in to so many things lately that were so much better for her than binging for three days straight like she would have only a few years ago. She choose orbaru and fish and spending more time drawing or in her garden over the vices she'd once turned to without hesitation - Ryden would be proud of her. She knew it.

The next time that she looked up from her sketchbook, the orbaru were... cuddling? Sevyrn very honestly hadn't thought that Spacemonster was capable of being that affectionate - not once had she ever seen it. Maybe she was right - he had just needed some one on one time with her in order to get comfortable... maybe he needed his own space back at the kennel, somewhere with just him and his sister. Maybe a bit more peace and privacy would make for a much happier little boy - his littermate was the only other orbaru he seemed the least bit interested in being around anyways so that wouldn't make a difference. Sevyrn knew that his sister was also one of the social butterflies of the group, though, and she would not have been happy to be seperated from the others just to be company for her brother. Sev would... well, she'd have to figure something out now that she knew Monster was capable of coming out of his shell and being affectionate with others. Maybe she would have to talk the zoo in to letting her keep Vis... No - she was also way too affectionate and social to withstand the isolation that he seemed to enjoy.

It was best to leave them be, Sevyrn decided. There was only so much that she could really do, anyways - they were past the point of needing encouragement to play with each other and be friendly. At this point it was all on them. Sevyrn flipped to a new page in her sketchbook and took pencil to paper, glancing up over her lenses and the notebook to glance at the orbaru every few seconds - like every trip that she had made here so far, she needed to get a picture done of the parents being cozy with each other. At first she had lied to herself and said that she would give the girl's owner the picture that she made as a thank-you, but Sevyrn still had the doodle she'd done of Rainbow and Trip... she was no more likely to hand this picture over than the last one. Oh well - it was a nice little keepsake for her collection, a flashback to a moment that left her proud to be raising these creatures and proud of the dedication that she had already put in to it. Orbaru were such lovely little creatures - Sevyrn had no idea what she would do without them in her life.

It wasn't that long ago that Sevyrn had been afraid that they would run long in here - with the way Spacey had been acting at first she truly would not have been surprised if the trio had walked out of her unsuccessfully... and Sevyrn was pretty sure that the nice attendant had been thinking the same thing while they were all hanging out in the waiting room getting ready to head inside here. It was amazing how quickly the tides could change - with how cozy the two orbaru were getting, it was clear that it was only a matter of time now before they would be ready to leave and Sevyrn would be bringing some more new babies home with a very big thank you to the owners of the zoo for lending her the new mama for the day. Despite the chaos of the morning, all was finally good in the world now!
She would know when the pair were ready, that much she knew for sure - she'd seen how bright that flash was a couple times now, and it was unmistakable. Sevyrn was safe to go back to her drawing, almost finished that little sketch of the two cozied up.

After finishing up that picture, Sevyrn had a hard time not getting restless. As comfy as this couch was it wasn't her couch and she was ready to be back at home and getting comfortable on her own furniture after a long day. That was the only problem with doing breedings - it was a lot of time spent doing... a metric bucket load of absolutely nothing productive. As much as she loved to draw there was only so much that she could do before she wanted to cook herself a meal or 'organize' her room or go hang out in the garden and maybe find some more fresh goodies to munch on. Had she brought any snacks for herself today? Sevyrn didn't remember if she had or not so she arched her back to be able to properly look through her bag... nothing. This was the first time that she had managed to screw herself over like that. She didn't even have a water bottle.
... at least the Orbaru were getting along well. You get to go home and eat and drink whatever you want soon.... Very soon. She wasn't sure if she was right or not, but the mindframe was in the right place.

At least she had a book to read - which one had she even grabbed today? Sevyrn hadn't even looked at what she had grabbed before walking out of the house this morning, so it was as much of a mystery to her as it was to anyone else. It was something for her to do for a little while though, so Sevyrn grabbed it by the open side and pulled it over to her, taking a moment to read the cover initially - it was one of her herblore books. Educational didn't really suit her mood right now but... better than nothing. As long as it could hold her attention for just a little while then everything would be golden. Following that mindset, Sevyrn flipped to where a scrap piece of paper marked a page about half way through, and started reading up on the dragon's love plant. She had found one for the first time the other day and had started to look in to it - what were the benefits of having it in her garden?
Luck was on her side, though - just as she had reached the second paragraph, the orbaru were just about ready to go. A sentence in and it was time.
