Now that Endymion has noticed that (well, he couldn't see all that well but-) he could see to some fuzzy, hardly useful degree, he was able to help Morgan a little bit with the task of getting the harness on him. He lifted his leg, and when Morgan couldn't find his leg to put it on, he puts his foot down through the loop so that Morgan didn't have to worry. He had a pretty okay understanding of how he was sure the loops were supposed to go on him based on physics ideas. He sort of half lifted a leg to let the back loop go on, and then when Morgan raised up (or rather, the blurry shape that was Morgan in the dark), Endymion turned his body ever so slightly so that the human found the clasp easily enough.
At this, the clasp was fastened, and Endymion felt that the harness was on properly.

He felt his human check the harness out of habit, and then saw them retreat their hands. "There y-you go, how do you feel, Endymion?" The human asked, wanting to make sure that he was comfortable. Endymion's voice can be heard, even though Morgan is still only really seeing pitch darkness. "Yes. It is... Scratchy, but I can get used to it." He says, picking his words. He understood the need to have the harness on, because he wouldn't want Morgan to fall off when they were flying- he understood that concept but-
"Morgan- what if I am never able to fly?" He asks.
"Draconics d-don't normally have wings if they cannot fly." Morgan answered, sure of their knowledge. "At least not ones as big as yours per body size- t-the closest I can think of i-is the Malavos." They reasoned.

Endymion was quiet, as he lifted a wing and looked at it. They were a little more gangly lately, but then again, everything on his body felt gangly. He decides to ask- "What if I don't grow up big enough to be able to give you a lift? I'd love to, of course, but won't this be a waste if I cannot?" He says. Morgan chuckles at his worries, and gives him a scratch on an itchy spot beneath one of the loops- one that Morgan had not been told about nor seen in the pitch black darkness. They were getting close, weren't they? Morgan finally answers him- "I dunno r-really? But I've got a hunch. I keep having dreams about us both flying, you know? B-but if you are too worried, or if you wouldn't want to give me a lift, I completely understand. I-I mean, half of my family are tat-lungs, and they are much to proud for it. They see it differently t-than I do."

Endymion turned around, getting used to moving both in the dark and to wearing the harness. Morgan continued to talk, after a moment of making sure that he was okay and that they wouldn't bump into any walls by accident. "Y-you see, this also has another application. I would like to get you a useful and w-well fitted set of pockets for you to wear, that way we can carry more supplies. You n-know that you can do that even if you wind up being small." Morgan said. Endymion could hear the smile in their voice, and it calmed him down and soothed his worries. "Alright, so if it is okay, I'll take the training harness off of you and then put it back on a few times to get you used to it." They said.
Endymion nods, and says- "Sure!" In a more upbeat voice now.

That was exactly what Morgan did. They went to take the training harness off of him, and he was starting to be able to see the blurry outlines a little less and less as time went on, so he was able to help them be able to put it back on them after it was off, and to be able to take it off each time. Endymion was slowly getting used to the process. After a little bit of work, Endymion was sure that he had gotten it down pat. "Morgan, I think I've gotten the movements down on how to help you." He said.
"W-well, when you get older, you may have to help me in other ways, but it is good to get you used to the process." After that, Morgan decided- "If you are okay with it, we'll keep that on while we continue your lessons down here, today." They said. "To get you used to it."

Endymion agrees to this, fairly happy that he had succeeded in the first leg of this lesson. "What is next?" He asks, curiously. He finds himself searching for Morgan's hands, since they always spoke in both common and LSL unless they had something in their hands, and though it was still very blurry, he found that he could tell that Morgan's hands were moving as they spoke- though not precisely enough to understand the LSL. "The next thing on our list is one of my favorite things to teach- we need to teach you to dodge dangerous things, just in case." Morgan hoped that they would never use this, but it was still an important thing to know. "This is also going t-to help you with acclimating to seeing better in the dark." Really, it was a wonderful idea to train these two things together.

Endymion had a sneaking suspicion that he wasn't going to like this training too much, but he trusted Morgan's judgement on the things that he needed to know. "How are we going to do that?" He asked, curiously and nervously. Morgan pulls something out of their backpack, and Endymion could see that it was some kind of screw-top lidded container... Probably plastic. He sniffed the air. He could see that it was full of something, but he couldn't tell what was in it due to the darkness. "I will b-be throwing these little biodegradable paper balls at you, they're very tiny but will sting. You need to rely on all of your s-senses in order to dodge them, without being hit." Morgan said.
Endymion wasn't sure at first exactly how that would work, or even if that would be doable at all, but then he understood a little better what Morgan had meant.

Endymion had his doubts, but he did have his doubts about the 'seeing better in the dark' thing before, and he was already seeing to some degree in a place where he wasn't sure if he was ever going to see anything other than pitch black, so he trusted Morgan's instincts about this. He watched in the darkness as the slightly blurry shape that was Morgan's hand unscrewed the lid on top of the plastic jar (he could see the twisting motions) and then took a few of the little white and blackish pellets within out of the container. The human then asked- "Are you ready?"
Endymion wasn't sure if he was ready or not, but he knew that he had to be. He gives an affirmative, and the noise allows Morgan to throw a little biodegradable pellet in his direction, or at least roughly in his direction. He really couldn't see very well.

The pellet doesn't hit him, but it isn't because he moved to dodge it. For one, he was too slow, and even if he had moved, he probably would have gotten hit out of lack of practice of choosing a direction. Morgan does seem to note that he didn't move. "It didn't hit you, did it?" Morgan asked, relying on him to tell the truth. Honestly, it felt very good to Endymion to be trusted like that. "No, but I didn't move." He admitted and answered.
"G-good though, lets keep working on it." After this, it was more like a veritable deluge of the little balls happened, though not all at once. The human was careful to throw them in slightly different directions, though completely blind in the dark. Endymion, on the other hand, was starting to be able to see them as they flew towards him.

Double-dipping the two skills that Morgan wanted to teach together seemed to have been an excellent idea. Morgan couldn't see in the pitch black darkness, but they could hear pretty decently well in the silence of the cave (it was actually eerie how silent the cave really was, too). They could easily hear Endymion trying his best as they tossed the little paper balls in his direction. They tried their best to follow the sound of his movement around the room with their tosses, too, in order to keep him on his toes. They must have been doing a very decent job, because Morgan could also tell that sometimes, they were hitting him. It was much harder to do this in the pitch black, but it was obvious that Endymion was starting to have an advantage that they did not. Hopefully, this sort of work would have him getting used to the dark in his eyes sooner than not.

The pair continued to work for some time before Morgan started to feel that Endymion was making progress with the actual 'danger sensing' thing. He was light on his toes, more so than Morgan would have expected from his gangly body type in this in-between stage of growth (was he practically a pimply teenager, by this point?) but Morgan seemed to be hitting him more often than not up to this point. Suddenly, it seemed like Endymion's ability to feel the danger, or maybe just his eyesight, improved quite a bit, because even though Morgan was getting much better at tossing them in the dark theirself, they could tell that they were hitting Endymion far less. Even though it was technically a breakthrough, it wasn't over with yet. Morgan began throwing the little paper pellets two at a time instead of singly, making sure to keep up speed as they did so.

"Don't get distracted!" Morgan hollared out at him, surprisingly loud in the cave. In the dark, being as still as Morgan was so that they didn't bump into anything, they had almost forgotten that they were in a cave at all. It was quite funny to them that this had slipped their mind, but they were so focused on the training that they didn't even laugh at it. The human could almost feel Endymion pout at that, in the inflamed silence that followed, but he kept doing as he had been bade to do. The loud noise had distracted him, and he'd been hit six times before he even recovered. Morgan could hear him growl as he stepped his game up, refusing to get hit another time, loud noise or not. It was quite interesting to Morgan how they didn't even have to be able to see in the pitch black to know what he was doing.

Endymion and Morgan worked nonstop until Morgan's arm got sore, and then they both instinctively took a break for water, and to joke a bit to relieve some of the tension. The pair were working quite in-sync, and Morgan was sure that they would get it before too long. "H-how is your vision, Endymion?" Morgan asked him, after they had their drinks of water. Endymion licks his chops of the remaining water, and then replies- "Everything is still a little blurry, but I can see your hand signs and tell what they mean for the most part." That was actually quite incredible! "What about your c-color vision?" Morgan asks, curiously.
Endymion shakes his head. "No, no colors or anything. Just a bit of blur and movement, but shapes are starting to show really well." That was progress, at least.
"Time to start back up, then." Morgan says.

The break had done them both some good. Morgan's arm was ready to go again, and Endymion had caught his breath and with the addition of water, had seemed much more focused on task than he had been before. This was the perfect combination of aspects that they needed to take Endymion's training to that point to where it was working perfectly. Morgan started off throwing two at a time at him, and then began throwing three at a time at him, scattering them. They could tell that he wasn't getting hit anymore, and that he was able to see them very well. However, the point of this training wasn't just to get him seeing in the dark well enough, but also to get him to dodge without thinking about it- as instinct. Morgan switched to four of them at a time, scattering so well that Endymion would have to lead his dodges.
