So, how do you like it s-so far, Endymion?" Morgan asked, as they walked down the street to the Quest Board. The draconic had been practically rubber-necked at everything they had passed. 'What was that?' and 'Why is that happening?' were constant questions rolling off of Endymion's tongue, and Morgan had been happy to explain everything to him. Of course, people also looked AT Endymion. It was not common for a draconic to come to the Labs City, let alone a young one like this. Morgan was incredibly protective of him, just in case anything happened. So far, he was having fun.
"I like it! It is... Different." He says, after a moment of indecision.
"Good, because after we see what the quest is for this month, it'll be time to take you back home." Morgan said.
"Aww, can't I spend the night at the mansion again?" He said, obviously disappointed. The pair steps up to the area where the quest board was, and they suddenly see a large group of people there. Morgan mumbles something under their breath.

Morgan had been a bit worried about taking Endymion here, but so far aside from the people that would stare at him as they walked by, Endymion had been safe. However, there was a slight concern whenever they noticed that there was a lot of people here. Their eyes cast over from the group of people to Endymion, and they made an apologetic facial expression to him. "W-well Endymion, I'm no fan of crowds." They said, hesitant. "Or rather, I don't want you to b-be uncomfortable when they stare at you." Endymion's 'Am I that different' floated across into Morgan's head so quickly and clearly that it took a moment for Morgan to realize that he hadn't moved his mouth. "Y-yeah, you know draconics don't come to the labs much. I've heard recently there was one sighted that isn't you, but it could j-just be a rumor."

Endymion puffs out his little chest, holds his head higher, and then trots ahead of Morgan, making his position clear. He wanted to hear what the crowds were saying, and he was going to go regardless of whether or not people were rude. Morgan's face became completely neutral again, and they simply followed him at a close clip. They stayed on the outside of the blob of people, but they could easily hear what was going on. Morgan was a little surprised. They knew about the comet tonight, and had been planning on taking little Endymion home whether he wanted to go or not specifically so that they could watch the beautiful comet from the cliffs at the Canyon. It was a good spot, not as good as the hill in town, but it would work out.
It was something they were going to try to keep secret from Endymion, in order to surprise him.

However, the secret was blown out of the water whenever Morgan realized that apparently, this was the Astronomer's Association, and they were actually looking for help trying to study the comet? Asking the common folks for help? What were they expecting to go on? Would there really be anyone there that may try to stop them? Did they not have enough help. Morgan made a bit of a face and blows up their cheeks a bit as they let a breath out. Little Endymion looks up at them, head slightly tilted, and gives them the 'why are you upset Now' look that Morgan was starting to realize what meant. They gave him an apologetic look, and accidentally stumbled out a mental communication for the first time that they noticed ever- 'Sorry Endymion, we were gonna watch it tonight. It was a surprise.'
Endymion doesn't seem mad though, and Morgan counts the tiniest blessings.

The human had been having a rough go at it, recently. They were sure that being spontaneously bound to Endymion was the reason their emotional cycle changes had been triggered, but they didn't want Endymion to think that it was his fault, because it wasn't. Morgan was really tired of feeling like every single thing that happened wrong to any situation they were in was their fault. It happened more often than not, enough that it was really taking a toll on them. They felt like they were the only person in the world that took any amount of personal ownership over their flaws. Of course, they were wrong, but it didn't stop them from feeling like others just... Refused to admit that they had any kind of a hand in causing severe problems.
Thankfully, Endymion didn't seem to be taking severe... Mental damage form being linked to Morgan. That's really all they thought about as they were supposed to be listening to the person in front of the board.

The crowd seems to disperse before Morgan even realized that they hadn't been listening. A few people stared at Endymion, shocked, but most didn't seem to notice him (thank goodness, Morgan thought). Endymion looks up at them excitedly and asks, verbally- "They said that people who help them study the comet will be able to watch it on the hill with them! Supposedly, it is the clearest place around! PLEASE Morgan, PLEASE can we stay and watch the comet? PLEASE?" He begged, bouncing excitedly on his toes in a surprisingly agile way. Morgan rubs the back of their neck and looks a little concerned, but looks up at the person, who was still standing there with flyers, and then back down to Endymion. "I guess so, Endymion. One more night- just for this. Only if t-they are okay with it, though."
Why should they pass up the best place to watch the comet at, if they were being invited.

Endymion could NOT have been happier. Morgan, on the other hand, was trying to figure out What they were going to do in order to help. Morgan wasn't one to work with other science groups just to do it, and really, they wouldn't be doing this in an official fashion anyway. Morgan sighs, steps up to the individual with the flyers with their best 'I'm the head scientist of WELP' face, and took one of the flyers. "So, I can help. I-I have a few starmaps t-that I've worked in, in the past. I-I'd be willing to share them with y-you, as well as work on a few tonight, if you wish." They said, feeling uncannily nice today. Perhaps that was what Endymion made them feel like. It was almost like he was changing them as much as they were undoubtedly molding him. Not that they wanted to, of course.

After the details were hammered out, Morgan knew that it was going to be a long wait until the evening. They turned to Endymion, and then spoke. "We-we are gonna go out for lunch, and then w-we need to rest until this evening, so that we don't fall asleep, okay?" Morgan said. It was difficult, really, to talk to him, because he was a very precocious child, but he was, indeed, a child. It was difficult for Morgan to really comprehend how to speak with him. At least he was probably going to grow up, at some point, they knew. Endymion nods, stops bouncing so much, and Morgan folds the flyer up and places it into their pocket.
"So, h-how about that outdoor cafe I was telling you about earlier?" Morgan said, walking off in the direction that they came from, and leaving the stragglers at the questing board.

Morgan had slowly been figuring out what kind of foods Endymion liked. He liked meat, but he loved berries, and desert was something that he wasn't really able to turn down, even if he had 'gotten full' before. Endymion's likes and dislikes were really in line with Morgan's so they figured that the little outdoor cafe would be perfect to take him to. It was a quick jaunt across town, but of course it was relatively close to Morgan's estate, so they would be able to go home with ease after they would eat. The pair sit down at one of the little tables outside, made up of a darker marble. The parasols above the tables had been switched out to something meant to celebrate Serpent's Dawn, and most of them had lovely little autumn scenes on them. The air was a bit cool, under the parasols and the awning, but Endymion hops up onto the chair with some difficulty (Morgan helped) and they both ordered.

The pair ate and communicated like much older friends than they actually were. Morgan pulled the flyer out before the main courses got there and read over it again, ever the untrusting individual. Their main courses arrived; Morgan received a bleu galabex steak with a garnish of regional in-season vegetables and onions lightly grilled on kebabs with slices of grilled fruit and a blackberry-based sauce. Endymion had a huge murp burger with cheese and all the fixings, which Morgan helped him by taking the toothpick out of it. They ate in peace, and the desserts were brought around. Morgan had a light raspberry and chocolate mousse garnished with frozen sugared berries. Endymion had a creamy gelato with fruits he didn't have the names for mixed in. After the pair were done, they were presented with the bill and three different squares of dessert wrapped in gold-colored (but not actually gold) foil with delicate beauty- a walnut and maple brittle, a dark chocolate and pink peppercorn square, and a couple of regional 'coin' desserts made up of something that smelled suspiciously like cinnamon, but were meant to commemorate the comet in detail.

Morgan paid the bill in full and Morgan gently placed the extra sweets to where the sun would not melt the chocolate. They were both too full to eat the extra sweets, and Morgan was planning on bringing some of it to share with Millicent, who had been busy at 'school' today. The pair then picked Millicent up from school and went home, where they all rested. Millicent was planning on going to see the comet with her school this evening, which Morgan had already signed the permission slip for (she was growing up so fast!). After six in the evening, Morgan got everyone cleaned up and ready to go, and they all left out. As soon as they got to the hillock, Millicent found her schoolmates and went to go 'hang out' with them (as she said) and Morgan simply took Endymion with them to find the Astronomer's Association. They made sure to bring the supplies they promised they would.

Endymion was excited as he ran across the grass (admittedly, there was not much grass in the Canyon, so it was always amazing for him to stand on the grass) and made a sound that suspiciously sounded like a weird... Morphed dragon version of a child playing. They looked around for any sort of group that seemed like it may be the Astronomers, and finally saw a table set up, and a few people coming up the hill with a huge dark tent. It looked like they were probably going to have a makeshift set up for their telescope to be able to check the Comet from out here, as well as from their actual observation building further up the hill. It was probably a good idea to get another set of information, as well. They called Endymion over and then pointed, before going in that direction.
As the evening got Darker, Endymion got more excited. The comet would show up soon.

Morgan spoke with the Astronomer's association, gave them copies of their star charts just in case they would be useful, and then helped them set up and calibrate some of the supplies they had brought (The ones that Morgan was familiar with, anyway). The work kept them busy and kept their mind off of their difficulties mentally that they had been having recently, and they were thankful for it. After they were done setting up, Morgan moves from outside of the dark tent and smiled at Endymion, who had been having a good time being fascinated with all of the different kinds of people, and what they were doing. "Morgan! I didn't know that humans could look so different!" He exclaimed.
Morgan chuckled, and explained- "Well, not all of us are h-humans. Humanoids would be the correct term technically." They explained to him. "There are many, m-many different types of people."

Morgan stepped away, finding a good spot on the hillock at the top, away from the observatory though, where they could sit alone and watch the comet. The sun was rapidly dipping below the horizon now, and suddenly, Morgan had noticed the tell-tale signs of a glowing comet up above their head. The pair sat alone at the top of the hillock just as it got dark enough to see the outline. Endymion plops down and excitedly stares up at it, while Morgan pats him on the often itchy spot between his ears. "What do you t-think?" They asked, voice low.
"I can only see the outline right now." He said, tilting his head one way and then the other so that Morgan scratched all of the itchy spots between his ears that he couldn't really reach. His horn nubs seemed to be itchy a lot. Perhaps they would grow?

Morgan grinned. Of course he could only see the outline right now, but soon enough he'd see how it really looked. As it got darker, the shadows reaching out like long gnarled fingers across the grass on the hillock from the tree line not too far away, the comet got brighter. Soon enough, the tail could be seen in all of its fiery glory. The air got a little chilly, and Morgan opened their backpack to take out the blanket they had brought so that they could put it over both of them to keep them protected from the chilly bite to the night-time air. Morgan leaned back on the grass and looked up at the stars from the best vantage point in the area that they could have gotten (of course, the observatory would have been better, but that wasn't what this was about anyway). The day was good. They were enjoying theirselves.
